I received the car on 9/8/2020, I started noticed a error message on 19sep2020, that stated service safety restraint system with the airbag warning light coming on. This light comes on and off so there is no way to tell for sure if the airbag is working appropriately. The message comes on both if you are in motion or stationary.

While working on an airbag warning light I encountered 2 distinct problems with my airbag and vehicle system. 1. The main underhood fuse panel on my vehicle has portion of oxidation on the fuses themselves. This oxidation is causing fuses to appear intact but are causing the circuit to open. This was the root cause of my airbag system to not be operating properly. 2. While diagnosing the airbag system, I was cautious about unpluggin the battery during any troubleshooting that I was performing. But, at the end of the diagnosis period and all modules/system were reconnected to electrical mating connectors I reconnected the battery and started the vehicle to cool the interior. The central airbag module which is located in center console was already electrically connected but not mounted. When the module was moved into position and the mounting points of the module touched chassis ground of the vehicle the side curtain airbags and front seat belt squibs deployed. It apperas to me that the ground of the module and the vehicle common wire are not internally connected. This apparently may cause a floating circuit in the airbag module that when chassis ground (exterior mounting surface of the module) has a potential change, the airbags may go off inadvertently. The concern here is that corrosion on older vehicles may cause this chassis ground to be compromised and cause random airbag deployments to occur. Vehicle was stationary. Bodily injury could have occurred if occupant was positioned differently.

Takata recall - I am now receiving warning lights to "service my airbag" on my vehicles monitoring system. I have contacted the dealership as well as gm and they still have no fix for this issue. According to a petition they filed with your organization, they were to have a fix adopted by August 2017. It is now August 2019 and they have yet to supply a fix for this issue!! thank god I have not been in an accident where the airbag has deployed, neither do I care to wait until I have an accident. According to the representative at gm, "they can see that it is still safe to drive your vehicle". They have not inspected my vehicle, have no solutions as to replacing airbags that have been deemed faulty years ago, so how can they possibly say that my vehicle is safe?!?! I want to speak to someone about this issue and determine what recourse I have. I can be reached at 240-382-7534 thank you, jennifer deffenbaugh.

Takata recall: my local gm dealer refuses to acknowledge that they are responsible for repairing my defective airbag. I have contacted them multiple times, and they say they currently have no remedy for the recall. I guess the fact that my airbag warning light is on is a pure coincidence, as well. I just received a second notice that takata, the airbag manufacturing company is now filing chapter 11 bankruptcy. The notice says to immediately contact my car's manufacturer to have the problem remedied. I feel like this will be a lost cause considering they want to charge me $112 to diagnose my vehicle's airbag warning light. Just another example of gm's "impeccable" service. I feel like we're stuck between a rock and a hard place and my family's lives are at stake. We also had an Infiniti with the same problem and they promptly and professionally handled the situation. This has not been my experience with gm.

Takata recall -I found no record of recall but passenger airbag warning light is on as well as cracks on the dashboard around where the airbags would deploy. Heated seats malfunction and turn on and are unable to be turned off. Fuel tank mileage to empty unreliable. Guage can be at quarter tank and say 50 miles to empty and stall due to being out of gas. Gas guage issue changes while driving. . . On raod trips the gas guage will suddenly change and say there is more gas in it than there actually is.

Two weeks ago a warning light went on indicating "service air bag". Took car in for service today and summary from tech was "performed tech two diagnostic scan. Found diagnostic trouble code b0087 supplemental inflatable restraint circuit. Further diagnosis is needed. " decided to explore via internet and found that there appears to be a service bulletin on this issue: NHTSA #10023755. If the dealer was aware of this, they did not state anything. Suggestion from dealer was that they replace the sensor and if that did not work they would need to replace the "sensor computer".
First the airbag warning light came on. This has been an ongoing issue since 2008. My speedometer registered the wrong speed. My settings for the seat and mirrors quit working over time. Hot air would come out of my vents when the air conditioner was on randomly. Radio, navigation, heat, air conditioner and mirrors would turn on/off randomly without touching controls. The last 3 years went through 3 batteries in 3 years. Tests showed at least 5 things are actively draining battery in the fuse box. Issues happened mostly when car was on but mirrors would randomly move when car was not on, very creepy.
Rear windows inoperable 3 times/right front seat belt locks up, have to unbelt to get slack so passengers reluctant to use belt/transmission has trouble finding first gear/rear end hums/front end feels "loose" after control arms replaced twice/tires squeal at very low speeds/accel pedal stuck to floor, then started coming apart/air bag warning light came on until 3rd repair/leather seats split at seam, repairs sloppy.
