1. No leading events
2. "engine power diminished" error, vehicle loses power, traction control and stabiltrak. Vehichle cannot maintain speed. Occured 3-4 times a week and then reset after car was turned off and restarted after 15 minutes. Disruptive and dangerous on highways and in less secure areas when driver had to stop. 3. The dealer replaced the throttle body and throttle body connector. Part was on national back order because of failures across gm & Chevrolet models. Neither the dealer or gm will acknowledge part failures.

: the contact stated the vehicle was unable to be placed into reverse gear. The vehicle was driven for awhile before it was taken to the dealership. While at the dealership, diagnostic tests were performed. The problem was with the reverse input piston seal. It was cut and not holding proper pressure. The seal was replaced however the vehicle was still having the problem after repairs were made. The vehicle was taken to 2 other dealerships where diagnostic tests were performed. The dealerships are unable to duplicate the problem.

The consumer indicated that GMC manufactured a large number of 5. 3 liter engines with either under sized pistons or over sized combustion cylinders which resulted in piston slap. The noise is very loud when the engine is cold but after a period of 10-15 minutes the noise goes away. The consumer indicated that the manufacturer would issue an extended warranty to consumer's who contacted them about this problem. The consumer feels the manufacturer should either replace the engine or repair the problem.
