1 Gasoline Engine problem of the 2007 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 02/09/2008

My 2007 Yukon denali with the new 6. 2 litre engine started leaking raw fuel onto my garage floor due to a defective fuel injector after driving 2 miles home from work. I noticed the smell as I exited the truck in my garage. I immediately coasted the truck out of the garage realizing I had an open flame 10 feet away from a gas water heater and a gas furnace. The same day I saw a blurb on the local news of a couple of house fires involving 2007 Yukons. I'm convinced this was probably the same scenario but I recognized the danger instead of closing the garage door and going into the house. Please look more into this issue. My profession is firefighting and I know this could have really gotten ugly if I had not noticed it.

2 Gasoline Engine problem of the 2001 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 11/22/2006

I purchased my 2001 Yukon denali xl on November 22, 2006 and when I was driving it home from the dealership it died at a red light. It started right back up so I didn't think much about it. The very next day the vehicle died during acceleration when I was at about 20 mph. I had a hard time restarting the vehicle. It spit and sputtered. When I did get it started I tried to drive and when I used the brakes it wanted to die or it would idle up and make braking difficult. I could not maintain a constant speed and the engine kept dying. There is no way I could drive this vehicle without crashing it. At this point I decided the vehicle is unsafe to drive. I had it towed to the dealership. The next business day, they could not find anything wrong with it. Its obvious there is a serious safety concern that is intermittent. It is now sitting at a different mechanics shop trying to find the problem. I have read so many complaints about these similar vehicles with similar problems. However, they have been broken down into different categories like Yukon, Yukon xl, Yukon denali, Yukon denali xl, or just denali. The complaints are also listed in different categories of "complaint type". Nobody knows what "complaint type" to list it under because they don't know exactly what is causing it. Obviously there is an issue with unknown origin and resolution. And with the complaints being broken down into different vehicle and type categories, maybe it isn't realized these vehicles are all built on the same platform and have the same problem. This is a serious safety problem and something needs to be done. I can't even drive my new vehicle.

3 Gasoline Engine problem of the 2004 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 07/12/2004

My car has completely died three times at highway speeds. The first time was July 2004, the second time was early oct 2005 and the last time was Jan 19, 05. This has happened in three different states at three very different altitudes. When the car dies I have no brakes, power steering or anything else for that matter. The car will restart after a while. The first time it died, I thought I was going off a cliff on a pass. The last two times were on busy interstates. This is very dangerous. I have had it to the dealership numerous times only to be told that they cannot duplicate the problem so cannot fix it. I have contacted GMC during this entire period of episodes, numerous times and they are very nice but it is only lip service. I finally got my hands on a GMC service bulletin document id#1530787. It describes my problems exactly. It parrots what I have told the dealership every time I have taken the car in. I like my car and just want it fixed. I am going to kill myself and or others if I cannot control the car when it dies. I saved my money and paid cash for this car and cannot afford to buy another one. And, I cannot sell this car as I would need to disclose its defect. So, I am in need of help to get it repaired. Thanks.

5 Gasoline Engine problem of the 2002 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 10/19/2003

Vechicle hesitation, I was proceeding to make a left hand turn when my denali hesitated to move and I was stuck in an intersection, it took my vechile more than 5 seconds to kick into gear luckily there was no cars coming in the opposite direction or my daughter and myself would probably not be here. This problem has been going on for more than a year and a half. Which of course the dealer cant diagnose, changing the throttle body & turbine shaft has not done anything for my vechile it still hesitates. . . . I reported it to my insurance company in case of an accident due to the failure of the vechicle. It is definitly an unsafe vechile to drive.

9 Gasoline Engine problem of the 1997 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 12/31/1998

Continous engine rap and and noises coming from under the hood. This has been an on-going problem since first oil change. Now after promises in writting from GMC, GMC says that I have to pay to have it fixed. Even though the problem was documented numerous times during the course of the warranty and never fixed correctly. I feel that after this incident GMC does not stand behind not only their product but their word. GMC's final word is that even though this was never corrected during warranty they have got me past the warranty and now I have to pay for the repairs.

10 Gasoline Engine problem of the 1999 GMC Yukon

When driving at 20-25 mph engine will cut off without prior warning, which causes loss of all power. Consumer has contacted dealer, fuel filler was replaced. However, problem still occurs. Please provide any further details.
