2018 Honda Accord- purchase car in sept 2018, in November 2019 inching forward to see clearly to make a left turn, oncoming car to my right, stepped on the brakes and nothing, no brakes and lots of warnings on the dash. Panicked but was able to steer the car out of harms way and push ignition to stop. Happened again in December 2019, same scenario as above. Honda repaired brake booster. Occurred again in September 2020 at freeway speeds, changing lanes about to exit freeway in rush hour traffic, Honda replaced brake booster. Occurred again February 2021 on the streets. Car currently at Honda. Fluid leaking into the brake master cylinder. Honda about to replace brake booster and what they call a collector. No confidence in this car. Honda will not consider a buy back.

Rear brakes defective-since June 2014 have had 5 califers, 4 rotors, 2 setsof pads replaced. Car has total of 73000 miles on it. All replacements by Honda. Brakes have frozen up, got wheels so hot they smoked, could not touch, pads would not release while driving could hear them rubbing against rotors, parked car in garage and could not get it to move next day, set parking brake and fluid leaked not sure but at times rear brakes did not seem to work when brakes rapidly applied, all repairs seem to be only temporary I had a letter from Honda shortly after buying the new car asking me to bring car in for brake inspection-did so- told letter did not apply to me-brakes fine. Have complained to two dealers and made formal complaint to Honda---stonewalled.

I purchased my 2008 Honda Accord on 10/16/07. At 412 (10/30/07) miles I had severe brake squeal that only occurred under light to medium braking. I took the car into the dealership and was informed that the rear rotors were glazed over (as if the parking brake was on - which we do not use). They machined the rotors and replaced the pads. At 1441 (11/30/07) the rear brake squeal was back. The dealership then replaced the rotors and scuffed the pads (per Honda's direction). Again at 2332 (1/22/08) I took it in for brake squeal. They informed me that the squeal was not load enough to determine where it was and that they did not have a fix even if they could find it. They told me to continue to drive the car until it got louder. I continued to drive the car and it continued to squeal with every braking attempt. At 16589 (2/20/09) I took the car in again to see if they had a fix. At that time I was told that the rear brakes were worn down to the metal (only the inner pads on both sides), the rotors were gouged and the dust boots had melted off allowing dirt to get into the pistons and leak brake fluid. This was not detected during my normal tire rotations. They replaced the pads, rotors and calipers and told me that the problem would be back (diagnosed by the dealership as premature rear brake failure). Four days after I got the car back the squeal was also back. Our car is typically driven by my wife with our 15 month old son in it. I am worried that since the squeal is always there that the detection level for this failure is very low. I consider this a major safety issue with this car and am worried about my wife and son along with all the other people complaining about this issue on carcomplaints. Com. This is the number one complaint with all cars manufactured (new and old) in the last 90 days. Please thoroughly investigate this safety issue on the 2008-2009 Honda Accords. Abs is failing due to fluid leak and lack of pressure. This car is relatively young and should not be experiencing this type of defect. The number of related postings for this problem would indicate a situation deserving further investigation. Loss of abs can result in loss of control and considerable injury.
While driving and without warning, the abs warning light illuminated. Dealer notified. There was no braking fluid in the reservoir. The brake fluid leaked from the abs modulator. TSB#96-050.
Anti-lock brake system modulator failure. Leaking fluid in close proximity to exhaust manafold. Fire hazard. Dealer repair price quoted at $1400 - $1600. This abs modulator appears to have a much higher failure rate than expected, based on the number of complaints I've seen on the internet. Based on the excessive repair price many people will chose to ignore the problem, or continue to add fluid, which will only increase the fire hazard. Others have chose to bypass the abs, which defeats the purpose of having the abs safety enhancement in the first place.
Abs modulator is leaking fluid from top and light stays on. Consumer confronted Honda with a TSB, but Honda will not recognize the problem.
Abs system leaking fluid, system inopearble .
Actuator in abs is leaking fluid which is not allowing abs to engage. Dealership is in possession of vehicle, and will repair the unit for $430. 00. .
