1 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/06/2020

07/06/20 was involved in an accident due to the plastic gas pedal snapping off and becoming lodged behind the brake pedal preventing adequate stopping that resulted in me rear ending another vehicle. Max speed reached on the freeway before collision was 65 mph. Trying to brake was not smooth and I had to press down extremely hard in order for the braking system to respond and still ended up colliding with the other vehicle at a higher rate of speed than there should have been when paying attention to surrounding traffic, even with a car length distance infront of me at the start of breaking. It is typical of the braking system to engage when "detecting" close proximity to another object or vehicle but, on many occasions there was no one there; however, in the case of todays accident collision mitigation was not responsive. Tire rotation performed at Honda on 6/29/20 with reports that brake lines, fluids, and pads were up to par however this is most certainly not the case. There is currently a recall that has not made its way to consumers for the fuel pump in this car that took me so digging to find. Initiated 5,28,2020 but, will not go in effect until 7,22,2020. I could have lost my life today! such a scary situation to be in.

2 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/08/2020

Fcw system failed, abs, tps message popped up out of the blue. I braked and the car spoed up, I had to pull up my emergency brakes, and almost rear ended another car with infant because of this. Took the car to a certified mechanic with 18 certs. The brake lines, fluid, rotors, fluid were perfect. No leaks, the message is still up. He cannot pull up any codes. I am taking a screenshot of this statement with todays front page paper indicating the date I am sending this to you. Please send out an emergency alert so other Honda drivers do not have to use their emergency brake and possibly killing an infant or other passengers when their brakes fail.

6 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 1999 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/05/2014

I started driving down a freeway side-road and as I approached a stop sign the brakes slowly went down to the floor. Using the regular brakes and the emergency brake I stopped without incident. I pulled over and found that the brake line had a large leak approximately in the middle and underneath the car. As I worked on replacing all of the brake lines one of the fuel lines also collapsed so I replaced all of the fuel and brake lines to be certain of their reliability.

7 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 1994 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/17/2014

I was driving locally applying the brake when the pedal went down nearly to the floor. I was able to get the car to my mechanic a short distance away. The brake line had ruptured just aft of the gas tank where it passes transversely over the frame to the right rear wheel. The line fore and aft is coated but this section is not and had corroded. The condition of the brake line at this point is not visible to inspection when the car is on a hoist.

11 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2001 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/26/2011

Vehicle developed leaks in brake line and fuel line in region below floor pan. This was due to rust-through. Service advisor informed me that this condition has been showing up lately, and showed me an assembly that had been recently replaced on a similar vehicle. Vehicle was impounded by dealer because of potential total failure of systems. Vehicle required almost two weeks to repair because Honda had a national backorder on the replacement parts. This suggests to me that there may be a sudden demand for these parts.

14 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2007 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/04/2011

I have a 2007 Honda Accord exl 2dr v-6 with an automatic transmission. I bought it used in August of 2010 with 32,000 miles. Shortly after buying the car, the brake pedal started to become progressivly softer. After about 6 weeks, I took the car into have the brakes done, and was told by the technician that a TSB, #07-045 dated March 5, 2009, had been published concerning the vsa modulator on the vehicle, and that I should check with Honda. I took the vehicle to ken garff Honda in orem, utah, and spoke with the service manager, showing him a copy of the TSB. He told me there was nothing could do for me as it was not a recall. I explained I was having trouble with the brakes on the vehicle, but he was not willing to look at the car. That was a concern to me as the brake pedal was almost to the floor to get the car stopped. There was also a noticble pull to the right when I braked. I took the vehicle back to a brake repair shop and they changed the brake fluid, making me aware there was quite a bit of air in the brake lines. I had the brakes bled again three weeks ago, and again the pedal is almost to the floorboard to get the car stopped. I feel this is a significant safety problem with the vsa modulator, and that Honda is aware of it. They conducted a recall of the element and odyssey for the same problem, and are replacing the vsa modulators in cars under warranty, yet are not willing to step forward and make safe a vehicle that has a potentially catostrophic problem .

16 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2006 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/26/2008

I have had several visits to the dealer over the past year and half with popping or clunking noises in the brakes. Also, several times the car juddered when stopping. The front rotors were turned at approx. In Feb. '08, @27000 miles, and again at approx. In Aug. Or Sep '08@ 38,000 miles plus the front brake pads were replaced. On Dec. 26, 2008 juddered exiting the interstate to stop for lunch. After stopping for lunch, the right front wheel locked up on me 3 separate occasions. The car was towed to the closest Honda dealership. The only thing they found was contamination in the brake lines. I drove the car from this dealership home and to the dealer where all of the service has been done. They flushed the brake lines on Monday, Dec. 29. Told me to return in 500 miles and they would flush the lines again. Less than 150 miles later, the right front locked up on me again on fri. Jan. 2, 2009. Once again, I took my car to Honda on sat. 3, 09. They flushed the lines again, checked everything, turned the rear rotors, drove the car 323 miles without any problems. The service department told me to be careful and told me to return if the brakes acted up again. All the time the service department stated that the brakes were in working order and could not duplicate the problem.

17 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 1999 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/10/2005

The subframe, brake lines, fuel lines, and suspension, on the front passenger side, have all rusted out to the point of failure due to a poorly designed a/c drain hose. The dealer should have noticed this was a problem during any of the later service visits. Honda should take action on this dangerous situation.

18 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/25/2004

When first braking after the car sits overnight, the brake pedal is hard and with it in reverse it backs up and cant be stopped without pumping the brakes . Wife backed into car in driveway and dented the trunk lid on the Honda. Thought it was one time deal, but it happened 3 more times. Took it to dealer and they had TSB on and fixed it. Brake hose would collapse and cause failure. They put a new hose part 7185473, I called Honda, they would not fix dent because it was not a recall, it was a TSB. This was a dangerous situation and I should have been notified. . Their attitude was it was my fault that the brakes did not work and will not repair the trunk damage. What do I do???.

19 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2001 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/04/2003

Right front brake line has a groove cut into it and cv boot is split. First noted on 12/04/03 when car checked for brakes. Transmission had been replaced by Honda on 03/03 after complaints of hard down shifting. Car still downshifts hard but not all the time. Gas pedal sticks when car is cold on acceleration. Honda corporate has been notified along with dealer. They want me to pay for half of the repairs. Parts have been on order for two weeks. There was never a problem with brakes until Honda replaced transmission on 03/03.
