On the fifth year of usage, my Honda Accord 2001 v6 ex 4-door sedan started producing a loud pop/click when applying pressure on the brake pedal. After taking the car to the dealership twice, they managed to determine the cause - a couple of parts around the pedal need to be replaced (about $200, I have the list from them) with labor charge for about $250 more, total comes to about $450. The dealer claims the problem is cosmetic and doesn't affect the normal vehicle braking. I truly hope so, I haven't performed the repair yet. This problem looks very much like the issue described at NHTSA item number 10013655 (service bulletin number 11012004). I believe Honda should stand behind their product, state this is a recall and perform the repairs of such issues for free. Currently it's extremely challenging to even convince the dealership that there's a problem, in addition they charge you a large amount of money for only diagnosing the problem.

Problems with vehicle's steering and suspension. There were steering problems, clicking noises that had run through the shifter and the steering wheel when placed into gear. There was no problem found in the steering or the suspension. The steering wheel did not return completely and when it did it would do so slowly, it also moved in circles. The brake pedal made noises when it was applied and metal like noises that had come from beneath the vehicle. The vehicle drove rough over bumps. When stepping on the brake pedal before going into gear, it felt as if the vehicle was already in park. The consumer was told that the vehicle rode rough due to too much air pressure in the tires (over 50lbs of pressure in two of the tires. The front brake pads and rack and pinion were replaced.
The gas pedal and brake pedal are very close together. Because of the closeness of the two pedals, when trying to brake the accelerator pedal is pressed.
