1 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/10/2020

My reverse camera pulls up on the screen as I've been driving for well over 30 mins and my rpm gauge has went out and goes blank every other hour or so. Happened about 7 times this past month. Pretty dangerous because when the following car function is on it immediately stops works, I've swerved to avoid accidents. This is all happening as I drive.

2 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/05/2018

On a hot day while sitting stationary in my car with ac running, I heard a pop with a fizzle sound then smoke began to rise from the front of the dash where it meets the windshield. The vehicle stopped running [push to start], and all lights flashed on the dashboard. The all sensors began to emit error messages. I turned off and exited vehicle, popped the hood and smoke was also coming up from outside the car. The car was purchased in March 2018, and at time of incident had a little 6000 miles. After letting car sit for a few hours it started up, with error messages across the display. . I. E. Tpms, check engine, lkas, etc. I then had vehicle towed to nearest Honda dealer, and the service people were unsure why a module in the dash burnt out; so they contacted Honda corp. Long story short they placed blame that a charger found in the bottom of my glove box caused it, which was never used in my car. To this day no one can answer me why a spontaneous fire started in my car while sitting still with ac running, but they refused to fix my car. This could have been a serious issue if the car was being driven at the time of this incident. Photos show possible leakage on the wires, but no on wants to admit that there is a big problem at hand.

4 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2000 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/05/2013

Dashboard light go out without notice and they turn back on at times. Unable to see at night the speedometer. Gears in car jerk while driving at all times from gear to gear, signs of sand like metal residue in transmission fluid when changed. I purchased the vehicle a little over a year ago and did not think much of it until it became worse and I began to research the possible issues.

5 Dashboard Failed problem of the 1998 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/23/2011

While braking, car just died (including dashboard electric) and then difficult to restart. After car started no further incident for a few days. Next, while travelling on highway ~50mph at night, car unexpectedly died (no braking involved) and most, not all electric died (emergency flashers worked). No "check engine light" ever came on, before dashboard blanked out. Ignition switch replaced in 2002 with national recall. Mechanic at a loss. Honda headquarters initially denied a problem existed. Car again stalled a few times while braking to slow down or come to a stop, but assumed it might be "bad gas". Evening of 8/3/2011 travelling at ~50mph, car lost all electric 3 times (dashboard blanked out, but headlights worked), but immediately came back on (as though it "blinked off"), without having to restart it. After parking car, took key out of ignition- it was "burning hot". This time when I called Honda headquarters they said it "might" be part of a "second recall", but car had to be checked by Honda dealer service staff. If it was the ignition switch, it would be replaced free. It was explained to me that this was not part of a nationwide recall. Result- ignition switch was bad and was replaced free. I was lucky I wasn't killed or seriously injured in a bad crash. Please order a nationwide recall- it could save a life or lives.

9 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2000 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/04/2006

Over the past few years, my Honda Accord experienced electrical problems in the instrument panel on the dashboard. The light would flicker off and on while driving during the night. Eventually that flickering stopped and the whole interior light in the dashboard failed to illuminate. I took it in to a certified ase auto mechanic and he said there was a safety recall on this particular issue and to check my mail and files for any letters. I found a letter in my files dating back to July 2004 stating a safety recall on 2000-2001 Accord lx v6 models for the multiplex control unit in the dashboard had to be replaced due to heat buildup and can cause accidents because the inside dashboard lights will not illuminate. I took the car to the fairfax Honda dealer in virginia and they could not honor my recall because my VIN# did not call for it. I contacted Honda consumer affairs about my problem and they told me my car was listed as a Honda Accord lx 4-cylinder. I spoke to a rep. Named andrea. After checking my files more thoroughly, they confirmed my car was a Honda Accord ex v6. The recall was for a lx v6, not a ex v6. The only difference is that the ex has a different trim then the lx, but the problem was the same, due to heat build up the instrument panel may not display lights. This is very dangerous for a driver and this problem needs to be addressed and resolved before someone gets injured. Honda corporation should provide a workaround or take full responsibility of their defect.
