I am deeply concerned about my safety and the safety of other drivers due to a serious and worsening infotainment system malfunction in my 2022 Honda Accord hybrid. The system malfunctions spontaneously and repeatedly while I am driving, causing significant distraction and creating a serious risk of accident. Symptoms include the system switching between apps on its own, the radio turning on and off without any input, and the screen responding as if phantom touches are occurring. I cannot predict when this will happen and have been constantly distracted while driving. The problem first appeared approximately one year ago and has become significantly worse in recent weeks, occurring more frequently and more severely. The escalating nature of this defect is alarming and I believe it poses an imminent danger to myself, my passengers, and other drivers. This is a known defect. Honda has issued technical service bulletins on this infotainment system and faced class action litigation covering 2020–2022 Honda models with this same system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this defect and consider a mandatory recall so that Honda is required to repair this at no cost to affected owners.

The engine stop/start system on my 2016 Honda Accord, VIN [xxx], has stalled and shut off without warning in active los angeles traffic dozens of times since September 2025. The vehicle loses all power mid-drive with no warning — no dashboard lights, no warning sounds — leaving me unable to accelerate or respond to surrounding traffic. The condition has progressively worsened and now includes repeated no-start failures requiring three documented tows. The component failing is the engine stop/start system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others hav been put at risk repeatedly. I am a [xxx]. My wife, age [xxx], has [xxx] and has been a passenger during stalling events. Sudden unexpected stalling in active los angeles traffic creates immediate foreseeable risk of rear-end collision and loss of vehicle control. This risk has been experienced dozens of times over six and a half months. The problem has been presented to Honda of hollywood, a certified Honda dealer at 6511 santa monica blvd, los angeles CA 90038, across five separate visits. Each time the dealer concluded no problem could be found. On one visit I was charged nearly $2,000 for spark plugs and a gasket — work with zero diagnostic connection to the stalling complaint. The vehicle was returned to me in an unsafe condition after every visit. On [xxx] the tow truck driver who responded to my third documented tow independently experienced the failure, could not start the vehicle, witnessed the complete failure sequence, and declared the vehicle unsafe to drive. He is an independent third-party witness with no stake in this case. I have video documentation of the vehicle stalling in active traffic on multiple occasions. I have voicemails from Honda of hollywood's own service advisor documenting their diagnostic failures. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The contact owned a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, black smoke was seen coming from under the hood, and the entertainment center screen would flicker. A message "see dealer" was displayed. In addition, the contact managed to safely exit the vehicle, and a fire had started under the hood. The local fire department arrived on scene to extinguish the fire. The local fire department deems the source of the fire to be a battery failure. No injuries were sustained, and no medical attention was sought. In addition, the contact stated that prior to the failure, the battery was replaced at a local authorized dealer. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed away by the Honda manufacturer, where it was taken by the insurance provider, which deemed it a total loss. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,026.

Ssue: water intrusion into tail light assembly causing electrical and safety system malfunctions status: repaired at owner expense (~$800) concern: safety?related defect and potential pattern across vehicles description of the issue: my 2021 Honda Accord experienced a failure where water entered the tail light assembly and caused electrical shorts. This resulted in multiple safety?critical system warnings, including brake system alerts, abs/vsa warnings, and Honda sensing failures. The vehicle also lost acceleration and entered a reduced?power “limp mode,” creating a hazardous driving situation. The dealership diagnosed the issue as water intrusion into the tail light assembly. The entire assembly had to be replaced at a cost of over $800. After replacement, all warnings and drivability issues resolved immediately.

Car lost power on freeway, had the car towed to local Honda. After several hours of sitting at dealership and talking to several different employees. One employee comes back to tell me the head gasket was blown and needed repaired. And that this is a common issue he has been seeing in this make/model of car.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. Multiple warning lights illuminated intermittently: tpms, abs, traction, brake system, power steering, uphill, and cruise control. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) unexpectedly triggered, and the vehicle braked without warning. The contact had no control over the steering wheel; the wheel ended up doing a 180-degree turn, and the front driver-side wheel detached. The vehicle ended up going into a ditch, where it came to a stop. No air bags deployed. The contact went to urgent care afterward, and the doctor prescribed muscle relaxers for minor back injuries. The police were called; however, no police report was filed. The tire was attached back to the vehicle, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to an electrical issue. The dealer completed a full tune-up. The dealer test drove the vehicle, and multiple warning lights illuminated. The dealer reset the system on the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that a month before the accident, while the vehicle had maintenance work done, the contact informed the dealer that the vehicle was "acting weird. " no cause for the failure was found on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
A 2018 Honda Accord suddenly displayed multiple dashboard warning messages at the same time after previously operating normally. The warnings include: emission system problem (avoid heavy acceleration), tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, electric power steering system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, collision mitigation braking system problem, and road departure mitigation system problem. These alerts appeared simultaneously when the vehicle was started, even though the car had been driven the night before without any issues. The vehicle still starts and runs, but the number of system warnings suggests a possible electrical, sensor, or control module issue affecting multiple vehicle systems.

This has been reported one time before but the situation has gotten worse when driving at approximately 60ish miles per hour but it starts doing it about between 50 and 70 mph when driving and the car is using the regular engine not the ev section. You will randomly lose the ability to accelerate and you have to remove your foot from the gas let the engine slow and then re-accelerate now for the second time as I'm driving I lose the ability to accelerate at all and no matter what I do the car will slow almost every warning light on the dash comes on and there are 11 different warnings I've uploaded photos of a few I have a video though also and you lose complete power and ability to drive warning lights such as power steering problem emissions problem powertrain problem all of those are part of what turns on if you try to move the vehicle it will not move unless it is an ev mode and even then it only works for several feet but you can't get over a few miles per hour if you are on the highway like I was going 65 mph and there's traffic is extremely dangerous the only reason I was not hit was because I turn my emergency lights on and was able to maneuver my vehicle to the shoulder safely had I been in a more busy section of the road or had I been in an area where I could not get off the road I would have been hit by another vehicle. Honda has stated they can't find anything wrong with the vehicle but a quick google search shows that this is a common issue and I have a video of the dash with all the warning lights should anyone need it as well as photos.
The turbo! code p0299! hundreds of thousands of americans going through the same issue all their lights are flashing on their dashboard with these 1. 5 t engines.
While driving on the highway suddenly a loud static noise came from the speakers causing me to drift off the road. It went away immediately but appears again at random times. Yes it’s available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because if there was no shoulder or a car directly next to me, I would have been in an accident due to being startled by an extremely loud noise coming from the speakers. Yes this issue is well known, and the dealership knows about it. The dealership is charging way too much to inspect it but if you look up static noise on 2016 Honda Accord, there are countless people complaining about their safety online. No there were not any warning lights.
The card radio unit continues to have a static noise coming even with radio being turned off. I believe many have the same complaints of a default radio unit.
Description of incident: 1. Component/system failure: the engine cooling system and head gasket failed. A certified shop has confirmed coolant intrusion and a failed leak-down test on cylinder 2. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. Safety risk: my safety and the safety of my family and other drivers were put at extreme risk. On March 1, 2026, the vehicle suffered a sudden loss of motive power while traveling at 70 mph on the freeway. The car dropped to 15 mph instantly, forcing me to maneuver across active lanes to a narrow shoulder with almost no space. I was nearly hit by high-speed traffic. This has occurred over 8 times since 2023. 3. Confirmation by service center: the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center on site lube auto & tire. They utilized a borescope and leak-down test to verify the internal engine failure. 4. Inspections: the vehicle has been inspected by a certified independent technician. I am in the process of notifying the manufacturer (Honda) of these findings for their inspection and accountability. 5. Warning lamps & symptoms: prior to the total power loss, the vehicle displayed engine temperature warnings and "check engine" lights. These symptoms first appeared approximately 8 months after purchase in 2023 and have progressively worsened, leading to the current engine failure. 6. Additional notes: this failure is identical to issues cited in active class-action lawsuits regarding Honda's engine defects, affecting both standard and hybrid models. I am communicating via written report/email for documentation and accessibility purposes.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was a choking sound coming from the vehicle, and brake pedal went to the floorboard. The vehicle was turned off and while restarting the vehicle, the lane departure, tpms, brake system, brake hose, brake performance reduced, and other warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
Was driving 35mph speed limit in my town of nashville nc, lost acceleration with cars clearly behind me, car stalled was enough speed to turn into a parking area and car will not re start due to high voltage battery going out on me while driving. Car has 29,504 miles this battery should be replaced under warranty but service center is blaming me for it so they won’t honor warranty??? 5100 in repair bill they want me to pay out of pocket.
The radio static real loud even after the power is turned off heat can't be on either.

Head gasket caused multiple issues with coolant burning quickly. Multiple ignition coils also got damaged and had to be replaced. Though the underlying issue with the gasket was not addressed by the dealership. The head gasket is currently broken and does not function at all and the car has only driven 84000 miles.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the electrical system on my Accord and yes it will be available. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the vehicle starts to not pick up speed and eventually kills. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? by the manufacturer (dealership) on multiple occasions, I was instructed to unplug the vehicle’s battery. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes, about a year and a half ago.
All light come on brake system, acc, road migration, collision migration, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability system, electrical power steering, and it will not go when at a light. Almost causing a car accident.
The body control module has gone out on my 2021 Honda Accord. Yesterday, when it went out, it affected all adas features, in addition to key functionality of the car.
Sudden high-decibel static noise and complete failure of the audio head unit/infotainment system 1. Component or system failure and availability for inspection: the component that failed is the audio head unit (infotainment system). During operation, the system suddenly malfunctions by emitting an extremely loud, high-decibel "static" or "screeching" white noise through all vehicle speakers. When this occurs, the volume controls (both on the steering wheel and the dash) become completely unresponsive, and the unit cannot be turned off. The only way to stop the noise is to pull the vehicle over and perform a full ignition cycle (turning the engine off and on). 2. Risk to the safety of the driver and others: this failure poses a severe safety hazard for the following reasons: startle effect: the noise occurs abruptly at maximum volume, causing an immediate "startle response" that can lead to a loss of vehicle control, especially at highway speeds. Aural overload & panic: the intensity of the noise is so high that it causes physical pain and cognitive overload, making it nearly impossible for the driver to focus on the road or hear surrounding traffic, such as emergency sirens or horns from other vehicles. Operational distraction: since the noise cannot be silenced while the car is in motion, the driver is forced to navigate to a stop under extreme duress, significantly increasing the risk of a collision.
The high-pressure fuel pump on my 2018 Honda Accord failed even though the vehicle had previously been repaired under a recall for the same issue. While driving, multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, including the check engine light and other system warnings. The vehicle began running rough and lost power, creating a dangerous driving condition, especially in traffic. This is the second occurrence of fuel system failure despite the recall repair being completed. The recurrence of this issue raises serious safety concerns, as sudden power loss or engine malfunction while driving increases the risk of an accident. The vehicle is currently not safe to drive due to the risk of stalling or loss of power. The problem appears to be related to the high-pressure fuel pump system that was previously addressed under recall.
After driving about 20-25 minutes, the speakers after working fine turn to all loud static even when turning the volume down. After the car is off for a bit, the speakers return to normal until driving again for 10-20 minutes. It’s so loud that you can’t hear anything and is very distracting.
I turned my car on and it didn't want to crank up. Once it did crank up every warning light came on. My son ran the code and p00087 came up. I tried to drive my car in my parking lot and it kept stalling like it was going to cut off. Now I drove my car earlier in the day and didn't have any problems. It wasn't until after my car sat throughout the day when this took place. I know it's a recall for fuel pump issues but my car isn't included.
Abs control module failed. It put me at risk because my car shut down on me while driving could have resulted in a car accident.
My break starts seizing up for no reason just out of the blue and a mechanics can't seem to find them problem, which led to my brake light constantly being on.

Everytime I try to turn my wheel it’ll get stiff and the notification will pop up saying “electric power steering system” but then it’ll go back to normal and when I start the car it sounds like it doesn’t want to start at all and like the cords are trying to connect because they start making a ticking sound. I’ve had issues with electrical before to where the airbags and lane assist had to be fixed but the issues seems to keep circling back around. Something going on with the electrical in the car and I have only had it for about a year and a half.
Experiencing an ongoing issue where multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard at the same time. The lights include several safety and system warnings, making it look like many different systems in the vehicle are malfunctioning simultaneously. Even after repairs were made, the dashboard warning lights continue to stay on or return shortly after. It has become frustrating because the vehicle continues to show problems even when something has already been fixed. This is a safety concern. How can we know if something is actually malfunctioning if codes are being thrown, constantly?? we also can’t use the safety features included with the vehicle when this is happening. Having so many warning lights on at once also creates concern about the reliability and safety of the vehicle, especially since several of the warnings relate to important systems such as braking, driver assistance features, and engine performance. Repairs aren’t helping and I’m seeing sooooo many other 2018 Accord owners with the same issue, as has been documented with this site, NHTSA.
9 warnings lights turned on on my dashboard and when going slow and accelerating it brakes by it self also brakes on freeway going 70 mph and then recovers.

Over the past several years, there have been multiple instances where I or my wife are driving on the highway and the engine light comes on or starts flashing, and I am unable to go faster than 50 miles an hour, and the engine itself feels to be underpowered. We have taken it to the dealership for repair at least five times over the past five years and in each case they have attempted to do a repair and said the issue has been resolved, but the issue continue. At at least one of those visits, they have diagnosed the issue as an engine misfire issue. The issue has intensified from the initial symptoms, (which were as I described, but resolved by turning the car off, waiting 30 seconds to a minute and then turning the car on again) to how it is now: in addition to the check engine light, every other light and warning system has gone off when driving on the highway and the engine was unable to go faster than 40 miles an hour, and it does not resolve by restarting the car. The dealership and Honda America’s main phone line have as of yet been unable to give me a clear answer as to why this is happening or whether it can be fixed. A sudden drop in speed and power on the highway as we have experienced many times over the last five years is inherently extremely dangerous.
Yesterday, January 30, 2026 as I was driving (approximately 30mph) my car seized, came to a stop, dashboard lit up with multitude of words/symbols. After approximately 15 seconds I was able to use the gas pedal and the car drove. My safety was at risk, this sudden stop jolted me hard. If there was another vehicle behind me I would have been hit. The warning messages were so quick and cleared away with seconds that I cannot recall. I drove to my local dealer and the battery cables were checked and ok. I scheduled an appt for Monday Feb. 2nd as this was Friday. On January 21st this local dealer replaced my battery, after months of "computer glitches" that were never resolved with two dealers and 4 dead batteries.
Purchased a car from jkj auto on 01/17/2026 for $5000 + tax. Car was sold "as-is" with no dealer warranty. Vehile was only driven for 12 days before the car caught fire while my son was driving to school. He was trapped inside until a person ran over to help him out of the car. Police came to the scene and towed the vehicle. It was later examined by dsm auto repair who deduced that the battery was defective and overheated. This caused all other electrical cables to ignite along with the rest of the car. There were no warning lamps, messages or audio alerts. My son first noticed when there was white smoke coming from the hood as the car shut off, followed shortly by flames.

Vehicle was taken to Honda of round rock for the integrated control module (icm) recall (NHTSA recall 25v785). The dealership performed partial service but stated a 'gateway' part is on backorder. Since this service, the vehicle has been returned to us with a non-functional speedometer, non-functional speed sensor, no a/c/defrost, and multiple disabled safety sensors. Driving without a speedometer is a severe safety hazard. The manufacturer has provided no timeline for the part and refused a loaner, leaving us with an un-roadworthy vehicle as a direct result of a recall repair attempt.
My car shut off on the road. I tried to accelerate but all my lights on the dashboard came on. I wasn’t able to accelerate more than 20mph. I was about to make it back home. Today I tried to take it out on a test drive, it’s drivable but I was not able to accelerate. Every time I pressed the gas, my car would stall. This is the 4th time it happened.
