Electrical drain in system causing premature battery failure and electrical misfiring that causes the car to shut off and flashing a brake warning message to contact dealer and once this occurs car won’t start until Honda link and hands free pairing are reconnected. Issue is if the misfiring drains the battery, driver is not able to reconnect the cars apps and pair the bluetooth, therefore, car is not will be immobile until battery is recharged.

The car was in cruise control going 73mph on the freeway. I was passing a semi on the left hand side. When I was parallel to the semi, the car brakes hard and a big "brake" light came on the cluster. There were no cars in front of me and luckily no one behind me. If there was a car behind me there would have been a collision. It was a clear day and again the road was clear. It took me from 70 to about 40 mph until I hit the accelerator to get back to speed. The cmbs is faulty and I will take it in to a dealer ASAP.
The collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), which is part of Honda's advanced safety features, slammed on the brakes driving down the road at about 40 mph. When the vehicle slammed the brakes, me and the passenger were jerked forward with seatbelts on. Had a vehicle been behind us traveling it would have slammed into the back of my vehicle causing an accident. I will be contacting the dealer to address this problem as it just happened yesterday 8/3/2025. Although I did read that this complaint is currently under investigation. When the vehile slammed on the breaks, the brake warning light came on right after the brake was slammed and immediately went off.
I have been having problems with many dashboard lights coming on at once. I got it checked out and I got abs code 123 - 11 and code 81 - 20. This has been going on since the beginning of August 2025. This could lead to dangerous malfunctions, and is one of the most expensive things to repair. It is my understanding that many many vehicles between 2013 and 2017 in the Honda range I've been experiencing this to the point of where we need a recall.

Abs lights on, break lights on, steering light on with traction control on while driving, use a scanner and shows code 121-11 vsa solenoid malfunction, I fear of losing my brakes while driving. I have seen that’s a common issue in different forums, something to be worried about.
When driving my car it will phantom break when there is nothing in front of it going down the highway 5060 miles an hour and it’s done at numerous times. I have not been in an accident yet, but it’s something that keeps occurring on my car.
My car has been sending several warnings including: brake system: electric parking brake system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, collision mitigation braking system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, supplemental restraint system problem, and power steering reduction problem. My car is not even 100,000 miles yet. I have had all maintenance done on time and recently had brakes replaced. I have changed my battery and tires twice within the 6 years of owning the car. It seems this is a regular complaint for such low mileage. I was a Toyota person but switched to Honda for their safety performance, and now I am regretting that. I read that this is the turbo needing to be changed. This part should be recalled if it is failing soon. A person who just bought a car should not be paying $4500 in repairs already. I had the fuel pump recall replacement done, and had the brakes done. I am changing the spark plugs and ignition coils next week. Honda needs to do something about this and I am looking to join in the class action suit against them, if they do not correct the issue.
I had been driving down highway and all of a sudden my car put on brakes hard. Thank goodness no one was behind me. I had dealer turn off that feature so it wouldn't happen again. I still experience my brake light flashing when nothing in road to brake for but doesn't brake on its own. Issue having now is issues starting car and once it starts I recieved a collision mediations issue pop-up on display saying see dealer now. Cruise control issue, and on dash has traction control saying ignitionating continue driving. The braking issue started right after purchase in 2018. The starting issue started yesterday 7/25/2025.
To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue involving the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system on my Honda Accord 2020. The system has been engaging randomly and without cause, abruptly applying the brakes when there is no obstacle or hazard present. On multiple occasions, this malfunction has occurred while driving at normal speeds, including on highways and in moderate traffic. These sudden, unprovoked braking events have created extremely dangerous situations, nearly causing rear-end collisions and putting both myself and other drivers at risk. Despite there being no obstruction in front of the vehicle, the system behaves as though an emergency stop is necessary. This issue not only undermines the purpose of the safety feature but also significantly increases the risk of an accident due to unexpected deceleration. I urge Honda to thoroughly investigate this issue, as it appears to be a potentially widespread and dangerous defect. I am requesting that the company: •address and correct the fault in my vehicle’s aeb system at no cost •provide a clear explanation of the root cause •inform me of any recalls or technical service bulletins (tsbs) related to this problem.
Parking brake suddenly engaged while in traffic car would not move. Car had to be towed brake pads were replaced but mechanic stated parking brake had defect that only the dealer can repair.
I noticed a loud grinding noise and reduced braking power coming from my 2020 Honda Accord while driving at normal city speeds. A local mechanic inspected it and found that the rear brake caliper was sticking and causing premature wear. I contacted Honda service, but they refused to cover the cost or inspect it under goodwill, even though similar issues have been reported with other Honda models. This issue puts my safety at risk as braking is compromised and steering becomes harder. The problem was confirmed by a local certified mechanic and is available for inspection if needed.
Driving down the road, no cars or obstacles in front of me. Out of nowhere the automatic emergency breaking came on. The car slammed on the breaks and very quickly came to a complete stop in the middle of the road. If there happened to be another car behind me they would have rear-ended me. There were no warnings prior to this happening.
The brake system, it is in the repair shop. I could not stop the car, had I been on the highway I hate to think what could have happened to me or others. No, it has not been reproduced. It is in the repair shop. No, it is in the repair shop. No, there was no warning lights or messages or problems prior to this. I was pulling into a parking space at work in the parking garage and as I pushed down on the brake pedal the brake did not stop the car it made it accelerate at a very high rate, and I ran into the concrete wall.
Brake and power steering lights come on and off. Occasionally power steering malfunctions. The cause has been diagnosed as the abs module. I will have to get it rebuilt. The wiring is a known issue with Honda.

Abs failure.
Abs module will breakdown pre-maturely. Warning lights on the dashboard will come on like the abs, vsa and parking breaks while driving. So, the abs and vsa is not working while driving that can cause the vehicle to lock up the breaks.
After a driveshaft recall repair was performed on July 10, 2025, at germain Honda of dublin, my 2013 Honda Accord ex-l immediately began showing multiple safety system warning lights, including abs, vsa, traction control, and check engine. These lights had never appeared prior to the repair. Diagnostic codes included: •vsa solenoid valve malfunction •modulator control unit power source circuit (ig) low voltage these point directly to the abs/vsa modulator, which is located near where the driveshaft repair was done. Despite the timing, Honda has refused to cover the repair, quoting me nearly $3,000. The dealer also cleared the codes before I arrived and then claimed they were “historic” with no documentation. I’ve confirmed my battery and alternator are in good condition, ruling out the common causes of voltage errors. I believe something was disturbed or left improperly connected during the recall service, resulting in a dangerous condition involving the vehicle’s braking and stability systems. This is a potential safety risk that arose after a manufacturer-issued recall repair, and I am requesting a formal investigation into similar cases if reported.
The abs pump/motor, abs modulator needs to be replaced. This is a pretty common issue with the Honda Accord from 2008-2017. Fixing this problem is expensive at the dealer. I believe Honda motors should have a recall about this situation because how pricy this is. Looking online for information and videos on youtube many people have been quoted 2,800 dollars and up to replace it. I just replace the abs sensor driver side and abs, brake, steering wheel came out. These are coming on and off. Please I would like to get some help with this situation.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the air bag warning light turned on and off. Additionally, the brakes were squeaking while driving, and the radio and speakers were producing an abnormal static sound while turned on or off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, hugh white Honda service located at (1360 auto mall dr, columbus, OH 43228); and was diagnosed with an internal failure of the air bags. The dealer also stated that the ball joints were worn, and there was an unknown failure with the brakes. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.
On [xxx] my car while driving suddenly reported abs brake system failure, together with that other warnings flashed adaptive cruise, ps system (eps) failure etc. With difficulty I was able to stop the car and pull over. Same day I called Honda service hq and lodged a complaint case number [xxx]. The car has 57,478 miles and is properly maintained. Honda suggested that I drive the car over to a dealership. I am unwilling to drive due to serious safety concerns. Another followup email was sent on July 8th to acs@ahm. Honda. Com but has resulted in no response. I am a [xxx] and even though its a serious safety incidence, Honda has shown no signs of concern . Please advise and help me out, the company should get it towed and fix the issue free of charge. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, no cause for the failure was identified. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked abnormally. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, and it was diagnosed and determined that the core pad needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000. The VIN was not available.
Abs/vsa module the lights are on the dashboard. Steering wheel light, brake, abs and tracksion light…they come on and sometimes go off for a little bit. Then back on.
Vehicle will randomly slam on brakes to a dead stop, engaging my seatbelt when engine braking behind a vehicle. Usually happens on surface streets when the vehicle in front of me is turning into a driveway/tight right turn. My velocity is decreasing & I am not at risk of colliding with the vehicle every time. System does not seem to register engine braking with a manual transmission as “braking. ” I’ve nearly been rear ended several times due to coming to a dead stop in traffic. I’ve asked Honda how to permanently disable the system, with the only advice to turn it off manually every single time I start the vehicle.
The vsa/abs module has failed. It is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others are being put at risk due to the fact that the brakes may lock up or give out with this faulty module. Yes the problem has been confirmed by my local Honda dealer. The vehicle had only been inspected by the Honda dealer. The lights that appeared on the dash are, abs, brake and traction control. There has already been a recall on this exact issue for my exact trim. I believe my car should be included in the recall due to the fact that I only hadn't 105k miles and hadn't had every service done that was ever recommended. I keep my car in excellent condition. This should not be happening. Thank you.

I tried to take my car to the dealer because my car brakes on its own and it had a alert that something was wrong with the air bags . I can ve driving anywhere and without reason the car breaks putting my life in danger and my family. I have tried to contact the dealer about this serious matter but I don't get anywhere. I am reaching out to see what solution we can come to ?.
When I am driving in an area near my home with road construction- there is a certain area that has a metal plate in the road and when I approach in from the east my car will automatically brake hard. Luckily this has not caused an accident but I suspect that it may because it is a busy road.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the messages "electrical parking brake system failure”, “parking brake not available", and "abs”, “vsa failure" were displayed on the instrument panel. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to drive as intended and was towed to a local independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the abs module needed to be replaced and reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired at the owner's expense; however, the failure persisted. The local dealer was contacted. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 23v430000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,750.
I applied the brakes and pulled up to a light and as soon as my car came to a complete stop all of the lights just started going off. The light turned green and I couldn’t accelerate anymore and almost got rear ended. I tried turning the car off but it didn’t turn off. Instead, it just made a clicking sound and I was able to accelerate and pull into a parking lot and I was able to turn it off and I turned it back on and it the brake system light stayed on. I drove to work and when I got to work I turned it off and turned it back on and the car is fine.
During interstate driving vehicle detected both road departure and engaged the emergency automated braking. The vehicle attempted to correct the "road departure" by steering the vehicle away from the perceived problem and engaged the brakes nearly causing a collision as it has done numerous times before. I have reported this to NHTSA and american Honda and await a repair of this dangerous issue. Honda has opened a case on this but have had 6 months and no response has been issued.
Honda needs to recall all the newer vehicles starting with 2018 to 2024. All lights on the dashboard is on and while I’m on highway, the car would apply the brake itself and when I released my foot from the pedal, the car run smoothly again. I took the car to Honda dealership last year and I was charged over 1500 dollars, still the car is having the same issue. This is frustrating. Today, the car is showing the camera like I was trying to back up, even though the car was on drive mode. Unbelievable.
The contact owns a 2020 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brakes were independently activated without the driver depressing the brake pedal. The “service brakes” warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition, the contact related the failure to Honda recall: tn2; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.
