Driving at low speed (20-40mph) the car will flutter/shimmy. This is a known issue with Honda America as they have two service bulletins regarding the issue. There are multiple online forums with Cr-v owners having the same exact problem with low and high mileage. The dealership performed the first "fix" according to the Honda service bulletin and it was ok for about 2 weeks and now it's back, worse than ever. The second fix according to Honda is a torque converter replacement, which may or may not help the problem.

Car shakes, jerks, and "judders" between 20 and 40mph under light acceleration. This was diagnosed by a Honda dealership as being the issue addressed in Honda technical service bulletin 15-086, but they will only fix it at their cost if you are still under warranty. Fixing, according to Honda requires replacing the torque converter, updating the pcm, and replacing the transmission fluid. That's a pretty expensive bill for it being their software issue in the first place. Car also make a loud grinding noise on cold starts. Was informed this was an issue with the vtc actuator, but there was no fix for it.
Takata recall. . . When driving my vehicle @ 30mph my car starts to make this weird noise almost like the noise is when you vear off the road and hit the bumps. I have called my dealership in August 2018 and asked what gas was I using as soon as I mentioned walmart and racetrac he stated thats what was wrong with it and I needed to bring it in for a checkup. I made several appointments on their website ,1 sat appointment that I had to reset tilanother sat appointment then I got a call stating that because of the issue I was having they needed me to bring the car in during the work week hours to have more time. Nothing ever mentioned about the power train of the vehicle. At this time I had about 72,000 miles under 80,000 I could not afford the fee they said it would cost me at the time so I canceled the appointment. Now I have the money to bring it to the dealer and when this nice guy picked up the phone he lets me know they are indeed having issues with this vehicle and I need to get it in ASAP to be put on the computer for an update that is covered under my power train warranty as long as the vehicle is under 80,000 mile. . Are you serious!! of course I am now at 90,000 miles. I inform him that I read up on this issue and people are saying that they had that done and it was not the problem,he then said well the 2nd part would be to replace transmission and torque converter or you serious. . . . . So now that I am over the milage for the warranty I have to pay for this but had I been told this back in August it could have been fixed. But there is no recall on this but yet so many people complaining about this same issue on the internet. . Is Honda trying to cover this problem up?.

Every morning for almost over a year I would start my 2012 Honda cry. It would rattle like the muffler was loose. I would last until it was warm up. Just recently it has gotten worse and now lasting longer. I had my car service this summer and had my torque converter replace along with the transmission fluid and the update on the computer. The noise never disappeared. Found out that the noise is actually vtc and there us a service bulletin on this. But, now my car is over the miles. What can you help me out with this? communication number: a09-010, date: 2017-02-25 category: 060000 engine (pws) summary: service bulletin - at cold start-up, the engine rattles loudly for about 2 seconds. The variable valve timing control (vtc) actuator is defective. . Read more...
TSB a15-086 describes transmission issue of vehicle when shifting between 2 and 3 gears under light acceleration. Took it to dealership in 2/17 dealer replaced fluids worked smooth for a week and started again. Dealer claims they did multi point inspection before and after fluid change. But only discovered torque converter issue today. Wants 1500. 00 to replace torque converter software update and fluid replacement was temporary fin lasted a weeking showed TSB says not part of issue is posted all over multiple Honda forums.
There is a TSB out that says the fluids need to be changed and a software update applied. The original symptom is the vehicle shudder at start of acceleration and during shifts between 2nd and 3rd. Paid for service still have problem Honda dealer in hollywood florida 2 days after service still same problem. Went back to dealer tells us its torque converter but not covered. Question is why didn't they test v drive vehicle after service work. Been to several dealerships to test drive used crv between model treat 2012 to 2014 all have same issues. Car travels 80 percent city streets along same route past this Honda dealership 2 times daily. Checked several Honda forums and various years all posting issues does not matter if lx ex exl or 2wd or and models everyone posts sane issues. Havre even retired driving pinky eco mode or normal mode same issue so software update and fluid change resolved no issues.
I am having issue with the transmission when shifting from 2ed to 3rd. What I feel is a shutter and it seems more pronounced when the fluid is cold. It's pretty infrequent but it's there. At 61k the dealer said "no codes, so no problem" and suggested that a fluid change is necessary. He kind of made me feel like I've been negligent, but I have not gotten the code and I know it usually pops up about 60k. I usually change the transmission fluid every 30k-35k miles. I have read about other people having the same issues so its very common. Honda say they know about it but they refuse to make a repair (torque converter) on warranty because I lost it at 60k and I have 63k.

My 2006 Cr-v shudders at around 40 mph. It did the same 3 years ago and Honda charged me $1200+ to fix the torque converter (@ 107,000 miles). Now it is doing ti again at 162,000 miles. It seems it is a design flaw. Shouldn't Honda do something other than make more money on me?.

Prior to turning over 50,000 miles, the transmission failed. While driving down the interstate, the vehicle shuddered and began making a whine. Pulled over immediately and heard the sound of metal pieces rolling around in the transmission no matter what gear vehicle was in. No warning light indication had occurred. Had the vehicle towed to Honda dealer and mechanic stated that the torque converter had failed and the transmission needed to be replaced. Manufacture warranty had expired, estimated cost was 3500 for part and 700 for labor. I feel it should be covered by Honda since a failure should not have occured this soon in the lifespan of the vehicle.
