1 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2010 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/31/2011

I bought crv ex 2w in April, 2010. I noticed a driveline vibration either from transmission or engine when I drive on downhill highway and underpowered in 40-50 mph. It seemed that 5th gear refused to downshifted. I reported it in few days, but the dealer told me that nothing was wrong. I continued to have the same problem; I took it to another dealer twice. One time the dealer mechanic noticed that something was not right, but later they told me that nothing was found wrong. I saw service bulletin to upgrade engine software, so I took it to the dealer in March 2011. They said that they did not know of the bulletin. I showed the copy of the bulletin issued on Nov 2010. They acknowledged it, and upgraded the software. It improved a little bit of the underpower problem, but did not fix the drive line vibration in driving on downhill highway. A few times, I was afraid that the engine would fall apart from the car. The worst time of it is when I drive it first in the morning though I warm up the engine enough.

2 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2006 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/11/2010

My Honda Cr-v is making a loud chattering noise during low-speed cornering. The gears in the differential need reground. My Honda dealership says it is my fault and will not cover it under warranty. From the sound and the feel of the problem, I will soon be stranded along the highway. The dealership in hanover, PA where I purchased the car new, told me that I let the oil get too low and ruined the gears. I immediately took the vehicle to the place where I normally get my service. I crawled under the vehicle with them and they showed me that the differential was full of clean oil and properly serviced.

4 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2010 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/31/2010

2010 Honda crv bought new. We have a driveline vibration noticed the day we took it home. We have 5 repair orders for the same problem with no resolution. 1 of the repair orders was done by an independent garage who noted the vibration and what he thought needed to be done but no repair was made. We are working with a lemon law attorney but dont feel like we are on the right track. I am a auto technician and not much of what I said was done. Honda is now trying to walk away from us. The lawyer siad she filed a claim with Honda 2 times and it was "denied". I dont understand that since the massachusetts lemon law, m. G. L. Ch 90 ⧠7n 1/2 states that it is presumed that the lemon law is satisfied if either of the following requirements is met: 1. The car was presented for repair on 3 or more occasions for the same nonconformity within one year or 15,000 miles from the date of original delivery of the car and the problem still exists. . We clearly fit this but the 1st time around with the lawyer she said we did not qualify and said " I understand you have experienced "issues" with your vehicle but some of the "issues" you have experienced do not fall under the lemon law. Concerns related to brakes, rotors, tires, wheels, alignments, cosmetic issues, wear & tear- are all items specifically excluded in your warranty booklet and although the dealer may decide to perform repairs at no cost under "good-will", they do fall within the lemon law so the manufacturer is not liable and therefore will not make you an offer of settlement. " this is not a "wear and tear problem if the car is new!!!!.

5 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/27/2010

We are a two car ownership family and one of the vehicle is a 2007 Honda crv and around 40,000 miles the car began vibrating at speeds between 38 to 43 mph. Contacted my Honda dealer, lee Honda, and they are vehement in stating that there is no issue with crv and the vibration maybe due to differential fluid needing flushing. Also dealer stated it may be due to front-end alignment. New tires were installed, front-end alignment done and what was an infrequent occurrence is not an everyday occurrence. Honda dealer is still adamant it maybe differential fluid needing flushing. My personal mechanic has found the bulletin that references the need to flush the differential, possibly twice. Why are they simply not upfront with their problem and address the issue. After several unsatisfied conversation with the dealership,I am having my mechanic do the work on 9/1/2010 and leave the Honda dealer chatting about "it's not a Honda issue" to himself. What poor customer relationship Honda advertises the dealership by not being honest about it's problem. It will be my last Honda. I am currently seeking to trade our other vehicle and it will not be Honda. When the vehicle was less then 6 months, we reported problems with the differential. The dealer replaced the differential per Honda's recommendation. Apparently there was a bulletin about the 2007 differential problem and it wasn't until our third visit to dealer that the problem was diagnosed as Honda bulletin, not a recall. Could these two issues be related?.

7 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/14/2009

After three service attempts by the Honda dealer to correct the car not tracking straight, I had a local alignment shop install rear camber adjusting kits. Car did not track straight, prior to installing the after-market kits, the car would continually drift left. The dealer now states the warranty is void because I put non-Honda parts on the car. When I called the dealer parts department, they have the same after market rear camber kit. Searching customer complaints on sites such as edmound's, a significant number of customers complain about tire wear. My tires were wearing excessively and abnormal prior to correcting alignment on all four wheels. It appears that the 2008 Honda Cr-v has a manufacturer defect and later year cars do not when a search of customer complaints is done.

8 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2005 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/15/2008

Own a 2005 Cr-v ex awd. I to have experienced the Cr-v rear differential contamination problem. Howling noise while turning became evident from the back end during the winter of 07-08 and approximately 25000 miles. Dealer determined the differential fluid was contaminated and flushed/replaced the fluid and performed a clutch burnishing procedure. . . Fortunately under a goodwill warranty per a TSB. No problems since but based on other complaints I fear it's just a matter of time. Rear differential contamination appears to be a real problem with this Cr-v version (02-08) which Honda really needs to address.

9 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2005 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/08/2008

At 17,000 miles on my 2005 Honda Cr-v I noticed noise when I made sharp turns to the right or left. The dealer could not diagnose. Any problem. He thought it was from turning on the painted stripes on asphalt parking lots!!!!!!!!! at 17,684 miles the noise sounded like broken dishes rattling in the rear of the car. I looked online and found similar descriptions on websites related to Honda Cr-v issues. I took it back to the dealer. Dealer finally diagnosed rear differential problem. They performed rear diff. Service, burnished clutches in rear diff and drained and refilled fluid. Problem solved! the car was under warranty, so no charge. Why don't dealers know more about this problem?.

10 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2005 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/19/2007

When driving at a low rate of speed when making turns, the 2005 Honda crv grinds or chatters due to a problem with the rear differential (according to the dealer here in blacksburg,va). I was told a service bulletin exists for this problem but have been unable to find it. I was told it would cost $150 to fix. My vehicle has 40,000m on it.

11 Power Train Driveline problem of the 2000 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 10/20/2003

I have multiple issues with vehicle: 1) engine stalls while driving, which interrupts power steering. This occurs generally within the first mile of driving, now daily. Initially, problem occurred at random, once or twice per month. Regular service checks revealed no problem. The car runs without problems all day once the initial stalling of the engine has occurred. Consumer information has found this to be an ignition switch problem, but Honda-authorized service dealer refused to acknowledge any recall or problem on this model on 1/17/2004. Instead, Honda claims that a scheduled "valve adjustment" would correct the problem. Engine stalling and interruption of power steering is a serious safety problem while driving, and the occurrence is not predictable - how can I be satisfied with a "valve adjustment" and take the car back on the road? 2) advanced tire wear. The vehicle only has 33,000 and I had to replace tires. Firestone / bridgestone dealer mentioned that the wear is premature and sold me a new set of tires for a fair price. Honda authorized dealer mentioned that it is driver/owner responsibility to maintain vehicle tire pressure and rotate tires according to scheduled maintenance. I have rotated and keep correct pressure in tires at all times. 3) while making a sharp turn (more noticeable while making a u-turn) primarily from the rear of the vehicle, a loud howling noise can be heard. The same firestone / bridgestone dealer noticed the same sounds and referred me to the Honda dealer. Honda authorized dealer mentioned that a lube service is necessary to take that howling noise away from my vehicle. Firestone / bridgestone believe more than a lube job is needed. 4) rear glass trunk lid leaks during car washes and strong windy rain.
