2 Driveshaft problem of the 2013 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 10/27/2020

My complaint is that Honda is refusing to cover the costs of known problems in their vehicles. The issue is the vct actuator which results in a very loud metallic rattling on a cold start. I have had the vct actuator replaced two times. They didn't want to cover the second time as it was out of warranty but the dealer finally did. It then of course happened again. I also had a second known problem, (juttering, which is a vibration/shaking while driving/accelerating at lower speeds) which they fixed once, again, it also came back. Last year the drive shaft needed to be replaced and now once again, the vct actuator needs to be replaced. Again, this is a known Honda problem that they refuse to fix at their expense. This has affected a lot of people, just read the message boards which are full of complaints about this issue. This should be a recall, why should we have to either live with the ridiculously loud rattling or continue to pay to repair a faulty item which is a known problem! I don't understand how they can continue to get away with this. I have owned Hondas for years, never again! basically I am stuck with a noisy car that shakes with acceleration and I either keep paying to fix it or live with it. Neither is acceptable and Honda should be held accountable. The date I listed is 10/27/20 but these issues go back further, today was just the final straw for me. . . I will also be contacting Honda although it clearly won't do any good. . . .

3 Driveshaft problem of the 2013 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/13/2019

Loud whine, driveshaft replaced.

4 Driveshaft problem of the 2013 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/20/2018

When speeds of 65+ mph are reached the 2013 Honda Cr-v steering wheel vibrates and shakes violently while traveling at high speeds on the highway. This makes the ride very scary and seem uncontrollable at times. As I have read on many forums, this is a very common occurrence with these vehicles. The dealership service department has not had an answer to why this is happening and told me "that this is a common thing with Cr-v's". Honda even put out a video basically stating that they fixed this problem with their new line of cr v's in 2017. I believe it's an unbalanced drive shaft, due to fact that the tires have been balanced 3 times, 2 alignments in a 3 month period and a friend of mine had the same issue and that's what fixed his along with other people on Honda forums stating the same issues a stated above and repair methods. I hope someone can get to the bottom of these very common issues.

5 Driveshaft problem of the 2014 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/17/2018

My 2014 Honda crv with 75,000 miles is in need of a drive shaft. I cannot find a recall on this. Honda is doing nothing about it. My mechanic was informed that there has been trouble with this part on other 2014 models. As a matter of fact the part was backordered! it seems absurd to me that this should happen in 75,000 miles. Can you help me? as you know this will cost me between $2500. 00-$3000. 00!!! of course I will not purchase another Honda vehicle since the customer does not seem to matter to that company]!.

This crv rumbles all the time when traveling at speeds of 1500 rpm +/- . Letting off the gas will stop the rumble. Dealer could not hear it. It has become more frequent and of course annoying. I have tried everything from changing dual pump fluid to tires. I have been told that it is bearing on the transmission or the seal on the drive shaft. Had any recalls for this problem?.

14 Driveshaft problem of the 2004 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/01/1901

The "protection propeller shaft" is installed on the Honda 2004 and 2005 Cr-v incorrectly. It serves no purpose with the way it is installed and could potentially allow the shaft to fall to the ground during failure. The consumer stated the protector cannot prevent the drive shaft from falling to the ground in the event of a catastrophic failure of the universal connected joints. The consumer believes the part should be either installed correctly or eliminated.
