Battery Dead Problems of Honda CR-V - part 1

If car is not driven for a few days the battery will be dead. Car has new battery. Doing my research this has been a problem for 2011-2019 Honda crv why is there no recall for this. This is unacceptable apparently it has something to do with the vsa system. Is Honda paying the NHTSA not to recall this.

All of the warning lights are lighting up in the instrument panel. The car was parked and turned on (idle) in driveway when all the instrument panel lights turned on. 2 days later, they all turned off. Then 2 days later they all turned on again when the car was idle in driveway. Multiple warning lights are on, including power steering problem, however, the power steering is fine. Car runs normally. I read online this is an issue with multiple Honda 2017-2018 Cr-v's. Most people have spent a lot of money at dealerships and never fixed the problem. I replaced the battery 1 yr ago because the factory battery died. Not sure if the 2 are related.

I got in to start the car in the parking garage and it would not start because the battery was dead. I was informed the battery was dead because I did not drive it enough by the dealership. I am nearly 78 years old. I do not know how much I need to drive the car to keep it charged. I think this is a design flaw.

The battery has failed multipile time in the first 18 months of ownership. The first instance at the 4 month mark with about 1000 miles on the car. Then aprox. 6 months later and again 6 months after the second instance. The dealer cannot identify the problem, after the first time they replaced the battery. The second time they said they did a "hard reset" of the ecm. The third time , I don't know yet as they still have the car. The car is 18 months old and has aprox. 8,500 miles on it.

Our 2018 Honda crv has a dead battery at 21,000 miles. On the internet, I see many other examples of this battery losing charge. Is this a common problem? we were lucky, as the crv battery died in our garage. But, it could have died in a less friendly location. 2018 Honda crv touring purchase September 8, 2018. Currently has 16,400 miles. On Thursday, December 10, I went out to start my Honda crv touring in the garage. It would not start. I called the helpline to have a towing company come to take the car to bob brady Honda dealership in decatur illinois. I called bob brady Honda service center they told me to just have the towing company jumpstart my car and drive it into the dealership service department. Note, the towing company driver informed me that this is about the 13th Honda 2018 2020 that he has had to jumpstart. Some of the vehicles he's had to revisit to jumpstart. I didn't drive the car after coming home the rest of the day on Thursday. The car started on Friday, December 18, at 11:30 am. The Honda started on Friday, December 18 at 3:30 pm. Saturday, December 19, the car started at 10:00 am. That same day the car started at 1:00 pm. On Sunday, December 13, I went out to try to start my car at 7:00 am. My car would not start! it is my understanding at the Honda dealership in the service department they will not just flip out the battery until they first try to charge it again to see if that helps the problem. It is now December 14, 2020 and I am going to call the Honda dealership to have my car towed in today for the exact same problem of the battery being dead! both times that the car battery died as well it was sitting in my heated garage. I'm not able to take any photographs on a dead battery. But, I have made a video of exactly how the procedure takes place when I have tried to start my car in the garage.

Our 2019 Honda crv was purchased in December of 2019. The battery had died 3 times and had to be recharged by the dealer. The Honda dealer refused to replace the battery and could tell us why the battery keeps dying. The car is driven every day and the lights are always turned off automatically at night after driving. Please investigate the problem as we have found out on the internet that other people are having the same problem with their 2019 Honda crv.

Since I have gotten the 2015 Honda Cr-v 5 years ago, I have randomly had difficulty starting my car. I have brought it to numerous dealerships to only be told the battery is bad. I have replaced the battery several times but the issue still occurs. The dealership has offered no other support, but then to replace the battery. Today, 09/07/2020, I tried to start my car and it did not start. It just made the coughing sound but would not start. It took multiple tries until it starts. I hope Honda fixes this issue as I notice many other drivers are having this issue.

Tl- the contact owns a 2019 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that the battery died two times, the first time it died, the vehicle was towed to the braman Honda of palm beach dealer, located 5200 lake worth rd, greenacres, FL 33463 where the battery was replaced. The failure recurred after two weeks and a road service was called and charged the battery. The contact was told by the roadside service technician that if the vehicle was not driven up to 20 miles a day, the battery would die. The technician stated that the failure was common with the make and model and that the dealer would not disclose it. The contact called the same dealer who confirmed the information and told the contact to buy a jumper cable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The failure recurred, making it three times. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 8,900. Fe.

Battery died overnight, took vehicle to different dealerships, replaced battery. . Nothing help ! technician cannot figure out why. . This is my second vehicle bought from Honda , this time I'm really disappointed. .

The battery dies frequently for no reason after not driving for one to two days. When the battery dies, it locks up the brakes and messes up the safety features.

Car battery will die if the car is not used for more than a couple days. We have taken it into the dealership to get checked many times only to be told nothing is wrong. Battery has been replaced multiple times as well only for the car to die a few days later. We purchased the car brand new in March 2017. The first time it happened it was only a few months into owning the car.

I bought this car in January 2015 replaced battery bought new on November 2015 and have had to replace the battery 4 times since. Last time new battery installed August of 2019 battery dead again in April 2020.

I was away for 17 days and my battery died. Went to dealer and he said this is normal. How is this normal? it's dangerous and should not happen! car is 18 months old! this is dangerous too. Last year we were gone 2 months and wife's car started right up. Neighbors winter in florida - come home and cars start up. My last car sat 3 months and started right up. This needs to be fixed! we travel and car sits at the airport / train. What happens when we come back and it's dead and it's late / snow / ice / bad area. Worse - I could not get into the rear hatch (dealer said nope - can't - no bypass) to get my jumper cables! and car was in a garage (50+ degrees). Garage also made it hard to jump as was pulled in forward! this is all scary and must be fixed but dealer says normal. He said some die in a couple / few days and it's normal. This is normal? after jumping it I had to reset so much / dash was lit up - radio didn't work. 17 days is nothing for a car to sit and dealer said it may have died the first week. Then what - no alarm - nothing. I looked online and many have this issue. For all I know my Honda battery died day 2 or 3 as many online say theirs dies after sitting just a few days.

Vehicle battery will die after two days of non starting. This happens constantly.

Issue with drained battery/ vsa modulator. Vehicle lights won't turn off when shutting off vehicle. Key fob will not work because vehicle battery will die. Once jumped, vehicle will die again. Battery has been checked and it doesn't seem to need replacing yet no active recall reported.

Battery keeps going dead after after not being used for less than a week. The battery has been replaced in Jan 2019 and the new battery has died two times already both time heavy corrosion has appeared around the positive battery terminal. A charge overnight has allowed me to start the car and get it to the dealer who claims, every time, that the battery is ok. . A web search came up with a possible service bulletin 16-011 (which is corrosion of the harness and wiring between the battery and sensors. ) I have an ailing wife and never know when I have to take her somewhere in an emergency and the battery is dead. Waiting for a tow truck of an emergency vehicle is safety problem. Why isnt a recall being made?.

Battery dies overnight. Car has only 1000 miles and I've had to jump it 3 times plan to call dealer for warranty work, but I see from other postings that this is an unresolved issue for Honda. Calling them anyway. A new car should not behave this way.

If I parked this car over two nights, its battery will die and need to call aaa to jump it. It occurs over five times in only two years. Then I changed my battery, it still happened and I also turn off all light in my cars.

Using the electronic emergency brake drains the battery to dead. This happened within two months of new and I have stopped using it. Now the infotainment screen is not working correctly for the radio. Partial display with sound and without sound after numerous reboots.

Car 2 months old, have only put 1300 miles on it, let it sit for 5 days, and battery totally dead! nothing was left on, had to jump car and alarm came on along with all sorts of warnings, called dealer who talked me through resetting radio, ect, and informed there is a recall, made appointment, I can't find any active recall. Also radar brake warning systems fail repeatedly in rain and snow.

Battery dies after sitting for 5+ days. New battery installed, same issue. TSB-032 has been applied, still have the problem.

Continual battery failures, batteries go dead if not driven every day. On my second battery and died as two days not being driven. Some sort of parasitic drain?.

If I stop using the Cr-v for two days the battery goes dead and I have to recharge it. The original battery was replaced after the first year in the Honda dealer. If I want to used the other car I need to turn on the Cr-v every day so the battery does not loose charge.

Multiple Honda batteries died on the same car. Original battery died within months of purchasing brand new car. The dealer replaced then the replacement did the same thing. They replaced it. Now the battery is dying again. Will not hold a charge for even 20 minutes. Wake up in the morning. Dead. Jump it. Dead at the very next stop. There are many many many stories on Honda message boards all over the internet of people experiencing the same exact thing. I'm a single woman who has to be on the road at night. I could be murdered in a parking lot trying to jump start the car when it dies after 10 - 20 minutes. Honda knows this is happening to many people and they are doing nothing to fix it.

My 2019 Honda Cr-v's battery dies after sitting in my garage for two days. It has only 320 miles on it.

Battery failed to start (at all) on 01/09/19, and was difficult to jump start. Vehicle (and the oem battery) had 13,167 miles at time of failure, and had been in service appr. 17 months. No evidence of abuse. Honda refused to reimburse for diagnosis & repair at independent shop.

Vehicle battery was dead after the SUV sat unused for 2 days within 3 weeks and 300 miles of ownership. This has occurred over 6 times in 3000 miles. Battery has been replaced by the battery twice and is now on its third battery. Dealer notes this problem exists on all 2019 crv's delivered to-date and that they do not yet have a solution.

If the car sits for 24 + hours the battery dies, I have had this happen 6 times now. Called dealer 3+ times, brought it in they first said it was the battery (which we all knew it was not) but they put in a new one they said. Anyhow as you already know this is an electrical issue that needs to be fixed a. S. A. P. . Dealer now tells me Honda is working on a fix but in the mean time I have had to have the car jumped and paid for this as well it's a major nuisance I want fixed very soon or want my money back and I will buy another car. This has been goin on since I bought this car Dec. 28th 2018.

My battery went dead and the panel for the radio, gps and sirius is off now. The panel is asking for a code number and I don't know it. Can you please help me out? thank you very much. It was parked at my home.

West county Honda (15532 manchester rd, ellisville, mo 63011, (636) 391-6900) diagnosed the vehicle, but did not find a failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.

Vehicle was parked over night in the morning the battery was completely drained I left no lights on there was no reason for a drained battery on a new car. After jump starting the car it has now issues like a hard start as if the battery is dead my interior lights dimwhen at stop light the loss mitigation warming comes on but all my extras extra for the steering help are off ot feels as if it's going to die at a light and my mpg went from 25. 9 to now 19. 8 that's insane!! I am taking to Honda dealer tomorrow this is a year old Honda.

If you put the vehicle in accessory mode or on battery without turning the engine on the battery will die.

While driving my 2017 Honda Cr-v ex-l on highway (the trip was about 10 hours), about half way of my trip, I could not reach the speed to 55mph with speed limit of 70mph. My odometer was reading around 30000mi. About two months later (just two weeks ago) I took another 2 hour one way trip, similar thing happened to me again on my way back (I could only drive at about 60mph with speed limit of 70mph). I raised the issue with local Honda dealer and they told me to schedule an appointment. I will see what they are going to tell me about the diagnostic checkup. In addition to above possible engine/power/fuel related issues, I had two incidents of dead battery without doing anything after stopping my car. One time (summer 2018) I drove to my son's private teacher's house and parked outside. After the lesson I couldn't start my car. It took 4 hours for Honda roadside assistance to come and found out the battery was dead. After the gentleman jump started my car it was driving fine. In September 2018 I did my oil change, the dealer's exam showed battery life good. Then just about 4 weeks ago in October 2018, my car parked in my garage and it couldn't start again. The roadside assistance found out the battery was dead and no battery life. Honda dealer replaced the battery for me.

Battery charging system recall. Battery dead left light on 3 minutes, ignition off. Nothing else on.
