I have a 2006 Honda crv with less than 40000 miles. Upon starting the car the vsa and abs indicator lights came on and would not go off until the engine was turned off. There were no accidents or any noticeable problems with the vehicle while driving on city street under good conditions as we took car to the Honda dealer, and was told the vsa module needed to be replaced at the cost of $2,600. Plus pus a charge of $110. For diagnostic test which had to be done. I feel this should be a safety issue, and should warrant a recall. Thanks Honda for all your support. Buy american.

The vsa and abs lights on my 2006 Cr-v came on upon starting and stayed on until the engine was stopped. This happened every time the car was started. My Honda dealership diagnosed the problem to be a faulty abs modulator unit. The stated replacement cost is $2,400, including labor. I feel that this defect is essential in ensuring the overall safety of this car. The weight of the car is significant enough that an uncontrolled skid is much more likely to end in disaster than a skid that is stopped with the vsa and abs function working properly. Living in central ohio, the abs and vsa functions are used frequently - especially in the winter. These key safety features were a top priority in my decision to buy this car. While the car's life expectancy is touted to be around 300,000 miles, it is unforgivable for such a significant safety function to fail at only 102,000 miles. I feel that Honda should recall these cars and replace the vsa modulator unit entirely at Honda's expense. And for those of us who have already paid for the repair - reimburse the full amount of the repair! the car without vsa and abs is not at all the same "as advertised" when sold new!.
Abs and vsa lights came on. Took the vehicle to dealer and was told the abs modulator needed replacing. My cost would be $2450. 00. Since this component controls brakes and stability it seems to me to be a safety issue and therefore subject to a recall.
I have had this vehicle sinse 2006. Never had any issues until this year when the abs and vsa light came on. At first there was no issue but it got to the point that even after replacing several sensors the lights would stay on and the vehicle's cruise control could not set. It also had a lag between braking to when the vehicle would stop. Finally the engine seased in the middle of the road when my daughter was driving it. We replaced the engine to the tune of 2000. 00 and now only a few weeks later the vsa light is back on.
Abs light came on intermittently in 2002 Honda crv. Honda wanted $500 to replace abs control unit. I called Honda customer service, and Honda agreed to fix the problem for $100 deductible. I think this is a safety issue--this should not be happening in a 5-year-old vehicle--and I wonder if it is a common occurrence.

On several occasions, my abs and vsa light would come on and you would hear the brake making rattling noise. Then the light would shut off and it would be good for a couple of days or a few hours. The lights came on for the last time and stayed on. Also the brake went all though way to the floor and it felt like the steering wasn't controllable. The car went to the dealership CT and they found out that it needed a new yaw sensor. Since I have had it back fixed it has not happened since. I suggest that anyone who has these issues call your dealership and have them run the computer diag. Test on the car. The service manager at the CT dealership said that some of the earlier '05's needed new modulars, to fix this problem. . .
