Note ! this is not a defective vehicle situation, but a malfunctioning braking system manufactured by blue ox. The Honda was a towed vehicle behind a motor home. Please read the details carefully. The manufacturer, blue ox obviously was aware that dangerous situations could occur as they have a paragraph in the back of their manual about the possibility of a "false breakaway" having this occur could have resulted into a serious fatal accident. Why is blue ox allowed to sell a product that could potentially create a serious major accident? I have uploaded all of the communications with blue ox as well as photos of the destroyed tires on the towed vehicle. In February 2020, I had a local dealer install a blue ox accent with the patriot 3 braking system. We used it last year with no issues whatsoever. (approx 3,000 miles) we left our home February 10, 2021 to travel to florida keys and up the gulf coast. At that point, we covered over another 2,000 miles with no issues. When we crossed over in GA, there was quite a bit of construction. We were traveling 50 mph since it was a construction zone and there was one large bump, which apparently caused the breakaway switch to engage and locked up the wheels on the tow vehicle. As soon as it occurred and I realized what happened, I pulled the power supply out of the dash sending unit, which released the tow vehicle brakes. However, I now have 4 ruined tires as they are flat spotted. Is this a normal occurrence ? we are traveling again to tomorrow and I am reluctant to connect the breakaway sensor again as it could create a serious accident. We are hundreds of miles from home and the dealer that installed the unit. What are your thoughts ? is there any recommendations that you can make as I am certain that there will be other construction on I-95 as we travel north.

This is the 3d time multiple sensor warnings have appeared: tpms/acc/brake/downhill assist/lane departure/etc. . Warnings. The dealer (brandon hinda) just resets codes with no reason for recurring problem. Reserach shows many have similar problems reported to hinda and there is a class action lawsuit pending alleging 2016-2019 Honda Cr-v safety systems are defective; filed in us district court for the central district of California; ward, et al. , vs. American Honda motor CO. , inc. Et al. Vehicle was stationary when problem noticed.

Whenever there is rain or dew most of the cara sensors will malfunction. The brake sensor are all bad, power steering, low oil and low tire pressure. It will happen sometimes while driving and when in park too.

While driving on the interstate, the steering wheel and brake pedal both locked up, so I was unable to control the car in any way. After the vehicle drifted across several lanes, it hydroplaned, spinning several times. At no point did any of the vehicle's many automated stability features activate, including abs. Had I collided with another vehicle I likely would not have survived. I was lucky instead to wreck in a ditch, at which point the vehicle returned control of the wheel and brakes, but still the abs did not seem to activate. Further, the side airbags deployed a second or two late, after the car was already uprighting from having rolled on its side. I suspect this scenario might be explained by a defect in how the software responds to sensor readings of slick road conditions.

I was driving 40mph on a city street it was a sunny 83 degree day with no one in front of me when my crv slammed on the brakes by itself. The speedometer turned orange and said "brake". The collision mitigation braking system falsely detected something in front of me when there was nothing. We jerked to a stop, the vehicle behind almost hitting us. My son, dog, and I were extremely scared. I brought my vehicle into my Honda dealership and they said the sensor was a little off but they could not find any other reason that the cmbs would malfunction? I've read online that this has been a huge issue with 2017 and 2018 Honda crv's equipped with this feature and Honda has not done a recall but there is a class action lawsuit out of California.
The automatic brakes have engaged three separate times, all while driving on the highway 60 mph minimum, each time in the right lane. Each time, no cars were present, I didn't veer off the road and there was nothing to trigger the automatic braking system. Honda mechanic told me a bug must have been smashed on the sensor and that caused the braking. I find this hard to believe given this has happened three times in the last six months, including during cold weather.

A bunch of sensors including the radar, lane departure, collision detection was stolen from my 2018 Honda crv without the central alarm getting triggered. The black box below the Honda logo was broken, and the sensor/connectors were pulled out. The vehicle was parking in my driveway. Bridgewater NJ police complain #20154646.
While driving normally with no traffic or obstacles in front, all Honda sensing suite features randomly fail and trigger a series of warning messages flashing sequentially on the hud indicating a problem with the following: lkas, collision mitigation, braking, adaptive cruise control, and road departure mitigation systems. The brake pedal becomes stiff and brakes feel unresponsive but sometimes engage to stop the car even if stopping is unsafe, such as driving on a highway with no cars in front. This happens randomly in different environments at different speeds. Rain, sun, hills, traffic, no traffic, but it is difficult to replicate the issue. The sensors trigger a false positive thinking there is an imminent collision even if driving 35 mph on an empty road. It also triggers when following a car with warning tones and automatic braking. The car feels like it is rebooting itself in the middle of a false but self-induced crisis. I have narrowly avoided collisions because the car took over control when not needed, only to turn off all safety features and warn that there is a problem with the braking system. The dealership service department claimed it was a low battery, but replacing with a new battery does not resolve the issues. The service department then tried to claim driver error after deleting trouble codes, with no explanation how "driver error" can cause the same error messages to display on the hud as all of the plaintiffs of a class-action lawsuit say the same thing.
I was driving with my wife as a passenger on a 4-lane highway (2 lanes in each direction). Traffic was light. We were travelling at about 45mph in the right hand lane about 500-feet from an intersection when I signaled to change lanes into the left lane as I would be making a left turn at the intersection. As we were midway into the lane change, our automatic collision avoidance warning flashed up on the instrument panel, beeped the alarm, and immediately (and unexpectedly) applied the brakes! the car behind us just missed plowing into the back of us because of the sudden braking for no reasons. The weather was good and just a bit cloudy, so weather had no bearing in this, and there was no traffic or obstacles near or in front of us to cause a false collision impression on the sensors. This has happened to us several times before and we did notify our Honda dealer and they said that this happens sometimes, especially in heavy rains when the sensors "see" a heavy rain area as an object. On two prior occasions when this happened, again in clear weather and no objects around, we were almost struck by a vehicle behind us. This is scarey, and I am glad I pay close attention to my driving as if I did not, this safety defect would kill us.
On two occasions, the car has unexpectedly and without any reason, braked to a virtual stop, as though there were a vehicle directly in front of me, while driving in the city on a road going about 40mph. However, there were no cars anywhere near my vehicle. In addition, my car will also unexpectedly beep and signal to me that I must brake, again, without a car being in front of me, again, while in motion at approximately 35mph. The Honda dealer claims they have looked into my complaints, which I see as potentially life threatening, particularly if the car brakes on a fast moving interstate, and they are "unable to replicate the issue or find any sensor issues. " the fact that this vehicle is operating correctly is patently untrue and the occurances regarding the sensor "brake" messaging is becoming more and more frequent.
Driving on highway at 70 miles per hour in beautiful 80 degree weather day on an August afternoon - no rain, no obstructions - when all of a sudden the dashboard lights up with warnings on the adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, brake failure, lane assist system - everything flashing and beeping. I immediately turn all the assist systems off but things still lite up and warning. When I am safely able to get off the highway to stop and turn car off and turn it back on all the warnings go away and appear to be fine. Sensors are clean and clear of obstructions. This is not the first time this has happened. Very scary! I keep the car clean and the sensors clean and unobstructed. Less than 25,000 miles on this car and it has had issues of not starting and dashboard flashing numerous times. Dealership actually toured it in on one occasion when it wouldn't start. Couldn't find anything and had us pick it up. Next morning would not start again. They finally replaced the battery. This was supposed to be a safe, reliable car and now I am afraid to drive it any distance with fear of failures.
Lane departure and collision control often engage without cause. Twice I have been driving and the lane departure sensors go off and vehicle automatically brakes for no obvious reason. It appears that it may be falsely reading shadows or wet roadways. One incident was on a city street at about 40 mph. The other was on the interstate at around 70 mph.
I was driving to work on dry roads with light traffic due to it being spring break in atlanta. I was driving at 48 mph and suddenly it was as if someone had stomped on the brakes hard. The car slowed very quickly to 30 mph. A car that was following me at similar speed had to swerve to avoid running into the back of me. There was no car in front of me that could have triggered a breaking response and I did not deviate from my lane either. This was a completely random event. 10 minutes later as I got closer to work the lane diversion warning came on, again with me being rocky steady in my lane. I think the sensors may have been reading any whites lines in the road, like a crosswalk or white lane turn arrow.
I own a 2013 Honda Cr-v was very happy with my car until my recent flat tire. Does anyone know that the tpms (low tire sensor) is connected to the brakes? me neither. Recently I had flat tire and had the spare put on until I could get it replaced. Only a couple of days to the weekend to wait, so I didn't have to take time off of work. Had the tire fixed and all was good; tpms warning light off. Well, that's what I thought. About three days later my brakes started failing as I was driving. There was a loud noise and jerking of the car when I pressed the brakes. I slowed to about 15-20mph and it stabilized the car. I slowed down to a crawl and happened to be a couple of blocks from a dealer which is on my way to work. Got the car there without incident and told them what happened. The result after their inspection and fixing my car was: faulty tpms sensor. According to the dealer, the tpms sensor failed which caused my brakes to go out. . . What, the tpms sensor is connected to my breaks. So. What your telling me, mr. Dealer, is that if one of four tpms sensors goes out, the brakes on my car will fail. What the hell Honda. This is a safety issue as far as I'm concerned. No only did my brakes fail because of the tpms but the dealer charged me $500 to replace this sensor which runs on a battery and is likely to happen at any time x4, because I have four tires.

The brakes failed when in reverse. The reverse sensors do not detect movement, the car does at intersections. A blue vertical line appears when the car is in reverse. The panel freezes. . . All this happened when the car was in motion.
While approaching and crossing over a railroad crossing at approximately 30mph on a city street, the word brake flashed a couple times and my car completely stopped, so hard as if I slammed my brakes on and my purse flew off the front passenger seat and I was jolted forward, my seatbelt tightened. The same thing has happened one time since then. I'm not sure if this is a braking problem or front camera sensory problem but it was very confusing and scary.
I purchased a 2005 Honda crv in 2018 of February in ozark missouri. It went through a missouri safety check and passed a few months later I needed to come back to California and since I've been back within three months time my engine my belts my brakes my starter my electrical sensors my fuel they have all seem to have failed and been replaced by a mechanical I paid in December 2018 I received a recall notice to take my car in so the airbags can be checked the whole engine and exhaust system and electrical system need checking as well because it's not a safe car to drive and I've been feeling that for a couple of months. It started off as a good car but once I change the engine oil everything seem to malfunction and go down like dominoes car has failed to start several times has shut off without notice.

Driving at 65 mph on freeway and front wheels began to shimmy and vehicle slow down. Stepped harder on the accelerator and managed to get to the shoulder. Then managed to get the car up an exit ramp at which point the brakes locked up and car wouldn't move. Hauled the car to a dealer who said the brakes were "contaminated" and all parts need to be replaced, including the abs module for $6,300. An independent auto repair indicated there was a firmware problem with the abs module and readouts for the front wheel sensors(obd scanner). Independant repair shops say the dealer is the only one who has the equipment to deal with the abs system.

Takata recall. I took my vehicle in to have the airbag replaced and the day I got on it back, 29jun16, the abs/vsa system had shutdown on me. I took it back to the dealership immediately and wasn't able to get it taken care of since the technicians were gone. Two days later they were able to take a look at it and they said it seems to be a faulty sensor or wiring issue. After having the sensor replaced the system still shutdown on me. As of yesterday, and several trips to the dealership, they determined that the vsa module had failed. I did some research and discovered that vsa module failure has occurred before that led up to a lawsuit and recall on vsa modules. I don't believe I'm the only one out there still having vsa module failure issues. Is this still a problem you guys are getting complaints about? is there any information you guys can provide to me regarding this matter? I've already notified Honda of USA about this and am now notifying you guys of the problem. The system has shutdown on me at random. Sometimes it happens when I first start the car up and it's still in park and other times it has happened while driving down city streets and highways whether I'm braking or not.
The contact owns a 2010 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that when applying the brakes, there was a loud noise heard from the rear passenger's side brake. The contact examined the brakes and noticed that the brake sensor was rubbing against the rotors. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer or a mechanic. The contact did not have the vehicle repaired. The failure mileage was 13,000. The VIN was not available.

I was traveling at approx 55 to 60 mph on the fwy. I started to slow down when I saw 2 cars that were at a dead stop in my lane way ahead of me, they just sat there so I hit my brakes harder & my brakes locked up. My car then went out of control and I tried my best to control it. I did manage to keep my car from rolling. My car was going back and forth on 2 wheels on the drivers side and the passengers side. I was also spinning and fishtailing and the back end of my Cr-v (passenger side) hit the back end of the driver side of a sedan in the #3 or #4 lane. That impact sent my Cr-v straight into the cement center divider of the freeway. I hit the center divider head on and went up and it felt like I was going to go over it onto the other side of the freeway but my Cr-v came back down right in front of the center divider with the smashed up bumper facing the center divider. My Cr-v hit the center divider hard enough for my body to bend the steering wheel back. Not one of my 4 air bags went off. I had this Cr-v in the Honda dealer 14 days earlier to repair the airbag recall (I have all of the paperwork detailing this) I have pictures of the injuries from hitting and bending the steering wheel. I also chipped 3 teeth. I have pictures of the airbag sensor and the bent metal around it. The chp officers, tow truck driver, the person that I hit and the body shop personnel all have the same question that do; the airbag should have gone off, why didn't it and why was I injured? I could have been killed. Honda has had several problems with this year and model of Cr-v, yet they do nothing about them. The seat belts, & the airbags definitely malfunctioned. I have had 2 other similar problems with the breaks locking up on me and I think that there may be a problem with the brakes or wheels. This car needs to be looked at. I have never had any problems w/any of my 4 Hondas past.

As I was parking my car, it suddenly and without warning lurched forward full throttle out of control over the parking barrier and curb and through a storefront window. I tried to stop it as my foot was on the brake the whole time, but I could not, and it lodged itself into a drywall counter and side wall. (it was later found out that there was a 600 pound safe on the other side of the counter, which probably stopped the car) I shut off the ignition and yelled for help. I was covered in glass and injured my shoulder, neck, upper back and right leg. I had just had the accelerator pedal position sensor and rear brake pads replaced at the Honda dealership 6 days prior to this. My car was maintained there regularly. It is fortunate nobody was killed. The incident was caught on the security tape.
