1 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2013 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/14/2014

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Cr-v. While driving at various speeds and when the brake pedal was depressed, the rotors vibrated continuously until the vehicle came to a complete stop. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

2 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 1999 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/25/2008

I own a 1999 Honda Cr-v. The check engine light came on around 102,000 miles. The car began losing power, shaking while idling and chugging loudly during gear shifting. One day the engine just died, right in the middle of the parking lot I was driving through. No warning. I then took it to a mechanic I trust. They first had me replace the distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires. It took them two visits to finally realize the valves were burnt and the head now must be replaced. Average cost to replace is $3500 to $4000. I have been researching this and it is a common complaint for 1997 to 2000 plus models. This problem must be stopped before someone is seriously injured.

3 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/26/2007

The contact owns a 2003 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that the rear brake pads needed to be replaced and the rotors needed to be resurfaced. The inspector stated that the rear pads had separated from the plate in which they were attached. The contact stated that the pads were purchased with the vehicle. The current mileage is 31,940 and failure mileage was 31,840. The consumer was informed the front pads were ok. Updated 09/05/07.

4 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/25/2006

I have now taken my 2003 crv in for the third time because of vibration in the steering wheel. The first time they machined the rotors and the second time they replaced them. Now, after about 15,000 miles, they are telling me they need to be replaced again. Something has got to be wrong here.

5 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2002 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/06/2006

I purchased a "certified Honda" vehicle, a 2002 Honda crv in June 2005. I was told that the brakes, both front & rear passed pennsylvania inspection but did not pass Honda's certified inspection so they were replaced to make the vehicle a "certified Honda". (they were replaced on 6/1/05) I have had the vehicle for 1 year, took it for inspection on 6/12/06 to find out that the rear brakes are down to a 1/b or far below passing - completely gone! I have driven the vehicle under 7000 in the year that I have owned it. I called the original (and only other owner) of the vehicle. He told me that he had the same problem when the vehicle was under 1 year old. He was told that Honda knew that there is some kind of defect in the design that causes the rear brakes to wear extremely fast in the 2002 & 2003 crvs, especially in the northern states because of our winters. He was told that the brakes need to be greased to help prevent this- something I was not told when I purchased the vehicle. When I asked the service mgr at the Honda dealer about this, he said they suggest it be done every 7500 miles. I have not even driven 7000 miles on the car. If Honda is aware of this problem with the rear brakes, why hasn't there been a recall?? are they waiting for the brakes to fail and kill someone before they do something??.

6 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/12/2005

From day 1 my brakes did not seem right. I had a very bad vibration in my brakes from probably 15,000 mi. At approximately 17,000mi the dealer machined or turned the rotors and replaced the brake pads. Now again at 35,000mi the vibration in my brakes are back. Dealer wanted to machine and turn the rotors once more, but we argued that this is not normal,a nd they agreed to replace them at 35,600mi. I have done some research and found that there are a lot more Honda owners with this problem. I have always owned Hondas in the past and never had this problem.

7 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2002 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/07/2004

I own a 2002 Honda Cr-v which has a disk brake defect. All 4 disk brake calipers are developing corrosion inside of the pistions. The dealer replaced the rear pads and rotors because they had worn and frozen to the wear indicators after 13,000 miles. They stated that they were "insufficiently lubricated" from the factory and added more grease to take care of the binding condition. The front ones are now showing the same signs of failure after 15,000 miles. Is there a way to persue that the dealer replace all 4 brake calipers due to the corrosion defect? my concern is that the pistons inside of the calipers are rusting through and may fail, causing accident/injury.

8 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 1998 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/27/2004

The front rotors warped prematurely. As a result, when applying the brakes from a high speed, the front end shook violently, making steering difficult.
