I was driving past a school zone at 20 mph, came to a stop to allow children to cross street, as I began my acceleration past the school crossing, I reached a 20mph speed again and my crv activated the emergency braking system without having anything in front of me that could have activated the forward collision braking system. Luckily I was not rear ended.

Car drove completely fine and on the dash all of a sudden, there was a warning for the brakes system malfunctioning while on the road saying a collision could occur, and the vehicle had about 5% of the braking power it should, and it almost caused an accident.

The vehicle automatically and suddenly slammed on the brakes when a deflated mylar balloon floated across my lane. It braked hard for several seconds then released the brakes as the balloon cleared my lane. I felt like I had no control of the vehicle until the brakes released. The car following closely behind me could have hit me, since there was no apparent reason to brake. I have been unable to reach a service advisor at my dealership to report it. The vehicle has not been inspected since this incident. There were no warnings prior to the incident.

When driving vehicle with cruise control on and getting close to or in an intersection the vehicle will slam on brakes without driver apply them. It's happened a few times so far and the vehicle is only about 3 months old. Once while driving down va beach boulevard and starting into an intersection when there was a lot of traffic so was worried a vehicle could have slammed into the back of us. And other times this would happen just before entering an intersection or while approaching an intersection.
My Honda crv ex-l traveling roughly 40 mph along a straight and clear road did a sudden hard break once it reached an intersection that had a green signal light. I noticed there was a car stopped on the right side of the intersection. I saw in my console “braking” pop up message then it disappeared. My foot wasn’t on the brake pedal at all. I felt I was closed to being rear ended because I didn’t engage any braking at all. Time happened around 10:30 am.

I was pulling into my son's driveway to park, and my vehicle did not stop when using the brakes. I struck the rear of his vehicle parked in the driveway. When put in reverse, my vehicle would not stop when using the brakes. My vehicle crossed the street, hit a tree, and eventually stopped when it hit a house. A video of the incident was caught on my son's ring door camera. I will submit screen shots of the video since the ability to submit a video is not an option.

I was driving down the road at approximately 40 mph. My vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes. The brake warning light appeared on the dash. There was nothing around me - no cars, animals, road obstructions, etc. It really scared me and luckily no one was behind me. I have had this car for 6-ish months and it has less than 6,000 miles on it. This is the first time it has happened.
I have taken the vehicle to dealership twice and told there was nothing wrong with the car. On three occasions the car has shut off when I stop and will re-engage but lurches and makes a crunching sound upon accelerating.
Sudden unintended acceleration (sua) I was pulling into a parking spot in a parking structure. I was coasting into the spot and applied the brakes. Upon releasing the break and allowing the car to coast, it unintentionally lurched forward with some acceleration even though I did not press on the gas petal. This results in the car lurching forward and hitting the parking garage wall. A call to the dealer indicated there is no reported problems of this kind and there are no recalls. There were no symptoms or lights indicating a potential problem. Car is only 4. 5 months old and purchased new. This was the first instance of this happening.
While driving on the freeway in the rain (on 2/19/2026), my vehicle started braking of its own accord. Emergency brake lights flashed on the dash board and the vehicle came to a full stop while traffic was moving on the freeway. [there had been previous incidents of warning "brake" lights flashing without cause, never a sudden stop; spontaneous]. During my <15 mile commute, the vehicle did this x5 times. After the 4th incident, a new pop up warning appeared: "collision mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer. " I took a photo of this warning light and drove to the closest dealership. The unwarranted braking problem happened again while on the freeway. When I arrived at the dealership, at first they said "there's no problem. " I showed them the photo, they reluctantly checked in my vehicle for diagnostics and informed me that I would have to pay for the diagnostician. The safety of myself and other California drivers was put at risk by this malfunctioning braking system. I was unable to over ride a warning, the vehicle braked unexpectedly in the middle of the freeway. Mossy Honda dealership did not offer me a loaner vehicle nor a ride home. When I asked, I was told that they might be able to rent a vehicle to me if someone was still around to do so. Cost =$50/ day. I lost a day of work to deal with this issue. I had to call the dealership for an update. The vehicle was inspected by a certified Honda technician at mossy Honda of lemon grove. The technician informed me that Honda's policy is to realign the system. The Honda technician asked if the vehicle was recently hauling a heavy load that could have ruined the alignment. I have not. It seems the dealership wants to blame me for this safety issue. If there are follow up issues, I am advised to return to the dealership for assistance. The dealership did not offer a ride, nor apologies. They have not provided an updated cost estimate for this alignment or any needed follow up repairs.
I was driving across a major intersection when the car slammed on the brakes for no reason. There were no shadows. I was not under a bridge. It is an overcast day. No direct sun. My safety was at risk because I could have been hit by oncoming traffic when I was trying to go forward.

To whom it may concern, I am submitting this complaint to report serious and potentially life-threatening safety defects involving my Honda vehicle. 1. Intermittent failure of crash avoidance / collision mitigation system the vehicle’s anti-collision/crash-avoidance system has stopped functioning intermittently and without warning. This system is intended to provide critical safety protection, and its unpredictable failure significantly increases the risk of a collision. There is no consistent pattern or driver action that explains the system disengaging, which makes the defect especially dangerous. 2. Sudden and unexplained sunroof explosion while driving while driving at normal highway speed, the sunroof glass suddenly exploded outward without any impact from debris, other vehicles, or road hazards. There was no prior warning. Glass shattered violently, creating an immediate safety emergency that could have resulted in serious injury or loss of vehicle control. This incident was extremely frightening and posed a serious risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. Based on my research, similar incidents involving spontaneous sunroof shattering have been reported by other drivers, suggesting a possible systemic defect rather than an isolated incident. I believe these defects represent an unreasonable risk to public safety and warrant investigation. I respectfully request that the national highway traffic safety administration review this matter and take appropriate action to ensure driver and passenger safety. Thank you for your attention to this serious concern.
Date of incident: February 6, 2026 time: approximately 2:30 pm on February 6, 2026, at approximately 2:30 pm, I came to a complete stop at a stop sign. As I began making a turn, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated without my intention to increase speed. This unexpected acceleration caused the vehicle to strike a small tree. The vehicle sustained damage to the passenger-side front area. No other vehicles or individuals were involved. I was not injured. Component/system suspected: possible unintended acceleration related to the engine, throttle, or electronic acceleration control system. Exact cause unknown. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: the sudden acceleration placed my safety at risk and could have resulted in serious injury or a more severe accident if other vehicles or pedestrians had been present. Dealer inspection: on February 7 at 9:30 am, my husband and I took the vehicle to Honda west, the dealership where it was purchased in December. We explained the incident and requested a safety inspection. No diagnostic or technical tests were performed. The dealer only drove the vehicle approximately 4 miles and stated that everything appeared normal. Manufacturer contact: on February 9, I contacted Honda customer service and opened a safety case (case no. 16162399). I was told I would receive a return call within 24 hours. As of February 13, after calling daily, I have not received any follow-up. I was informed again that I may receive a call on February 17. Warning signs prior to incident: no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms were present before the incident. Request: I am requesting a full technical and safety inspection to determine the cause of this incident, as I am concerned about the ongoing safety of this vehicle.
When pulling slowly into a parking spot, engaged the brake and the vehicle suddenly accelerated, causing a collision into a brick pillar. Injury to driver occurred.
When starting the car up and backing out of my garage it sounds like my rotors or brakes are grinding I took it to the dealer, and they told me that that was standard on the 2025 crv. It is grinding so loud and hard like it is cutting into the rotors. I need someone to take responsibility. My car is only less than one year old. It will be one year on 2/20/2026. This is my seventh c r v and I've never had this problem before.

While driving under normal conditions on a dry road (no snow or ice), the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of braking performance while in motion. The vehicle was traveling approximately 10–15 mph and approaching an intersection with a red traffic light. A warning message appeared stating: “brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. ” immediately after this message, braking performance was significantly reduced. Multiple attempts to slow the vehicle using the brake pedal resulted in minimal deceleration. The stopping distance was much longer than expected for the speed and conditions. The vehicle only came to a stop after the brake pedal was pressed with full force. Shortly after the initial brake warning, multiple additional safety-related systems went offline, including collision avoidance and other braking-related driver assistance systems. Approximately five to six warning messages appeared, indicating a cascading failure of safety systems while the vehicle was still in motion. The driver was able to slowly maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road and park safely. No collision occurred. However, shortly before this incident, the vehicle had been driven on a highway. If the same failure had occurred at higher speeds or in traffic, it could have resulted in a serious crash or injury. The vehicle is relatively new (approximately two years old, low mileage) and has been routinely maintained. There were no prior warning signs before this event. The vehicle is currently available for inspection at a dealership. A preliminary dealer explanation suggested a possible low or discharged battery; however, the cause of the braking failure has not been clearly established. This incident involved loss of braking performance while the vehicle was in motion, presenting a significant safety risk.
Thank you.
No problem.
Approximate mileage on car: 26500 make/model/trim: Honda crv hybrid sport-l location: manheim and lancaster counties, pennsylvania date of incident: 1/17/26 weather: light snow, under 3", mostly plowed/salted surfaces while driving in light snowy road conditions, the vehicle failed to decelerate appropriately when the brake pedal was firmly applied. The driver was operating the vehicle cautiously and at reduced speeds under 20mph, appropriate for winter conditions. Snow accumulation was less than approximately 3 inches, and the roads were mostly plowed and treated with salt. Despite firm brake application, there was no noticeable abs pulsing or vibration, and the vehicle continued to slide forward with minimal reduction in speed, right through a stop sign and then again at a 4-way traffic light intersection. Both times, the braking response felt delayed or ineffective, resulting in a significantly extended stopping distance. Steering control while braking was limited, leading to fishtailing and spinning across the road. This did not feel like normal loss of traction or typical abs engagement. The behavior was unexpected given the relatively moderate road conditions and the cautious driving behavior. No warning lights were immediately displayed during the incident. The experience felt like a loss of effective braking capability in winter conditions, creating a serious safety concern. This condition increases the risk of collision due to the inability to stop the vehicle as expected, even when driven cautiously in moderately snowy, plowed, and salted road conditions. A driver has no reliable way to compensate when braking response is inconsistent or delayed. The vehicle is marketed as awd and suitable for adverse weather conditions. The braking behavior was inconsistent with expectations and with prior vehicles driven by the driver under similar winter conditions for over 40 years.
Traveling at 70 mph on I-5, washington state, a warning message telling us the braking system was compromised, referencing "vsa", part so the stability control system. We pulled over and turned the car off, deleting the message. Within two miles of proceeding along the road the display presented a message saying the parking/emergency brake was malfunctioning, at 70 mph. Three days later my wife was backing up in the driveway and the car applied the brakes and would not proceed. When my wife engaged the forward gear the car did drive forward while cycling various error messages. It, via computer interpretation, determines how the brake fluid pressure is applied/distributed to all and any of the braking systems. Some systems are automatically initiated and others are initiated by the driver. These systems include the auto-emergency braking, the application of the electric foot brakes, the parking brake among others. We had the car delivered to the local dealership with the above information. The dealer ran an obd scan and decided that the electric servo booster. I do not challenge this decision. My concern is that this malfunction has triggered a recall in japan and that there are worldwide reports of the malfunction. Please have someone look into this system failure with Honda.
My father's Honda crv, which I was driving, suffered a computer reset due to a low voltage drop. This was, in turn, due to a failing fuel injector. The computer reset disabled many safety systems and core systems, including the parking brake (which is electronic), as well as adaptive cruise control, the tire monitoring system and blind spot sensors, tire inflation warning, hill start feature, and many others. There were no warning signs prior to the reset. After calling the dealership and reporting these issues, they still advised me to drive into the dealership for service. Upon doing so, they diagnosed the failing fuel injector. At this point, I had done research on the issue and found hundreds of similar reports concerning Honda crvs and models with the 1. 5l turbo engine. Despite warranty extensions for some vehicles, the dealership claims that our VIN is not covered under the warranty extension. This is obviously a manufacturing fault and a safety issue. Please investigate Honda and require them to, at a minimum, extend their warranties to all affected vehicles with this defect. We have detailed maintenance records at the same dealership we bought the car from. The vehicle is available for inspection, and I am including the dealership's diagnostic.
The automatic braking system is activating automatically without any warning or any interference even though there is no vehicle or object in front it is happening all of a sudden and it a serious safety hazard and could cause major accident it is life threatening and I am very scared to drive it a life and death situation please look into this matter and have Honda fix this issue before it causes and deaths.
I am reporting a recurring safety issue with my 2017 Honda Cr-v. The vehicle has experienced repeated incidents where multiple warning lights suddenly illuminate at the same time. In some instances, the lights disappear temporarily and then return. I replaced the battery, but the warning lights returned within two weeks. About one year ago, the Honda dealer recommended replacing all four fuel injectors, which I did at significant cost. Despite this repair, the problem reoccurred. Most recently, all warning lights came on again and the vehicle lost power and became undrivable. This presents a serious safety concern, especially if it occurs while driving. I have learned that many other 2017 Honda Cr-v owners report similar fuel injector and warning-light issues. I believe this may indicate a widespread defect and request that NHTSA investigate this matter for potential recall or corrective action. Thank you for pay close attention to this matter!.
The braking system failed. As I was attempting to park my car, with my foot on the brake, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward unexpectedly, hitting the parked car in front of me. Both my vehicle and the parked vehicle were damaged. If anyone had been in the car's path, they would have been injured. My vehicle bounced off the parked car and continued lurching forward while I actively tried to stop the car by applying the brake. At no point during this incident was the accelerator pressed. No warning lights, alerts, or messages appeared on the dashboard before or during the event. Have not yet taken my vehicle to the Honda dealer.
At approximately 6:00 pm on December 29, 2025, I was parking my vehicle in the montague foods parking lot at 8761 ferry st in montague, mi 49437. As I was pulling into the parking space, I had firm pressure on the brake pedal and was not pressing the accelerator. Despite braking, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward unexpectedly. The vehicle struck the parked car in front of me with such force that it moved the large SUV, bounced off, and continued to lurch forward repeatedly. While I was actively trying to stop the vehicle with the brake pedal, it continued moving forward, ran over a curb, and behaved in an uncontrolled, bucking manner. I would describe the experience as similar to a bucking bronco. During the incident, I was yelling, “what is happening?!?” due to the unexpected and frightening behavior of the vehicle. At no point during this incident was the accelerator pedal pressed. No warning lights, alerts, or messages appeared on the dashboard before or during the event that I can recall. Both my vehicle and the parked vehicle sustained damage. Fortunately, there were no injuries. This incident raises serious concerns about the braking, acceleration, or vehicle control systems in this model. I believe this represents a significant and serious safety risk not only to the driver of the vehicle but also pedestrians and other vehicles. I am afraid to drive the car again. I respectfully request that the national highway traffic safety administration investigate this issue to determine whether it represents a vehicle defect affecting safety, and require Honda to issue any necessary recall or remedy needed.
On December 29, 2025, while pulling into a parking space, my Honda crv hybrid unexpectedly accelerated in spite of my foot being firmly on the brake. The unintended acceleration resulted in a collision with the vehicle that was parked in front of my vehicle. The security video footage shows clearly that my brake lights were consistently on during the collision. My braking system clearly did not work. My vehicle collided with the vehicle parked in front of it, moved that vehicle to the side and continued moving forward over a parking lot curb and came to a stop. If someone had been in front of my vehicle, they would have been seriously injured if not dead. There were no warning lights, messages or other symptoms prior to the unintended acceleration. My vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and the manufacturer and they could not reproduce the problem. This is the most concerning aspect of the situation. They want me to take the vehicle back and to continue driving it when there is clearly a problem.
* manual and automatic break - both failed. Yes, it is available for inspection. * it was a collision between 2 cars. Our car break got jammed ,it hit other car. * we visited envision Honda of milpitas - Honda dealers. For multi-point inspection after incident. I have attached the report. The problem was not reproduced by them, but we faced the issue of break getting jammed and automatic break system not working. I am scared of driving my car in future. * yes, the vehicle is inspected by Honda dealers and geico insurance. They are not accepting intermitted break system failure. * there were no warning lamps or messages. Just break stopped working. We were driving in snow mode in Honda crv. It was snowy road. We were going downhill. And the manual and automatic , both break system failed at the same time * the Honda dealers didn't share edr (event data recorder) data to us. They charged us 300$ and did multi-point inspection and handed over the car back.
New 2026 Honda crv, 2 months old, 1,500 miles on it. Total brake failure, no response when pressing pedal. Had to hit curb to stop car. Cmbs warnings occurred. Turned car off and back on and brakes started working again. Drove for 10 minutes with cmbs warning. Turned car off and let sit for 30 minutes. Since then, have drove car multiple times for over 10 minutes each time and brakes worked and no cmbs warnings.
While pulling into a parking spot and coming to a stop, the brakes failed and the car abruptly accelerated forward despite attempts to continue braking. The car proceeded over the curb and raised hilly grassy median and only came to a stop when it collided with a parked vehicle on the other side of the median. I, as the driver, had no control of the vehicle and could have potentially hit a pedestrian in this parking lot. There was a person seated in the car that my car impacted and she could have been hurt as well as myself and my passenger. All of this was reported to the community service officer who came to the scene, as well as to the coggin collision center, coggin Honda dealership and my insurance company. My insurance company has sent an appraiser to the collision center but he did not investigate the causative factors, only the body damage so far. There were no warning lamps or messages and the airbags did not deploy despite frontal impact. The car is currently at the Honda collision center and would be available for inspection.
Oil dilution, anifreeze disappearing, loss of power while driving on highway this past Saturday, all lights on dash constantly going off at least once a month, vehicle radar senses a car in front when there is none and the braking system stops my car on its own while driving (happened several times), oil changes are done every 3000 miles, head gasket blown due to flimsy bolts oem and a 1. 5 l engine with turbo. . . . Bad idea. . . . Turbo too strong for a 1. 5l. . . . Now im out a 2500 bill. . .

I was driving the vehicle when all of a sudden all of the lights appeared on the dashboard. I took it in to the dealership and was told it was due to po172 code.
While driving on a residential street at about 30 mph, our car suddenly, on its own and without warning, braked sharply. There was no other vehicle near to initiate the sharp braking. Had there been a car behind us at the time, the braking was so sharp it hit might have rear ended our car. We have now taken the car to the dealer for their assessment of the issue and a solution.
Phantom emergency braking. Vehicle slamming on brakes at intermediate times when there is no emergency.
