Instrument display went dark and failed while driving at night. Car still ran and was drivable, but I had no idea about speed or engine status. While taking it to the dealer later that day, the display became visible but all the warning lights came on in sequence repeatedly. The dealership contacted Honda and after 2 days in the shop determined it was due to an instrument display cluster failure. I am still awaiting a final resolution/repair. Note that the lights did not fail during this event, but it still was very disconcerting for night driving. I was driving on a city street at the time of the event at about 30 mph in a straight line. Ac was on but no radio or wipers.

The vehicle does not heat up when idling which mean remote start to clear the ice from the windshield and warm the cabin does not work. Honda told me it has to be driven to produce heat. They've replaced the thermostat and flushed the cooling system. I have to drive to work down a decline for 8 miles. After 4 miles the engine gauge begins to rise and then by the time I reach 8 miles (bottom of the hill) the engine temperature gauge bottoms out back down to the cold. The heat that may have started how ever feeble is now once again cold. Any ice on the windows is still there because the whole car inside is still cold. If it wasn't for the heated seats I'd freeze to death. The service manager came to take my car one morning and saw this happen. He was told by Honda the engine doesn't produce heat with out a load on it. This vehicle should never have been sold north of ohio. It is unsafe. I also have a strong gasoline smell in my oil that will soon be taken in for. Also, the safety features all become inactive because of a little rain or snow. The Honda dealer recalibrated them but it still happens. The lack of heat on idle is unacceptable though.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that the instrument cluster failed to illuminate. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and VIN were unknown.

The headlights keep burning out every 3-6 months, this can't be normal. I keep reading complaints online from others experiencing the exact same thing but Honda is not taking responsibility. Besides being costly, time-consuming and annoying, it is a safety hazard and it is illegal, you can get a ticket for driving with a burnt light. In addition the light on my dashboard has gone out, and the 2 rear doors electrical locks do not work.

All interior gauges flicker and stop working (I. E. , fuel, speedometer, odometer, engine temperature, dash lights) and some warning lights flicker (parking brake, maintenance required). It is now happening daily and lasts longer and longer. Car also makes a scary "ticking" sound. Honda dealer stated that instrument cluster has gone bad (shorted out?).
