Honda has recall my 2019 Cr-v due to potential airbag release from a steering column wiring issue. They suggest not to drive the car. However the local Honda dealers do not have the parts necessary to correct the problem and, in fact, do not know when they will be available. 4 Steering Column problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/01/2015

Virbration. Steering pulls left. The car has serious vibration at idle, @600 rpm, 1200 rpm, 1800 rpm and 2200+ rpm. This vibration transmits through seat, steering column, floor and pedals. Back pain is induced within just a few miles of driving. Feet get pins and needles and go numb as well as hands and arms fatigue quickly. Driving is limited in range as a result. Dealer attempted 4 repairs including reprogramming, remounting radiator and modifying engine. Vibration was dampened in the seat only at lower rpms. Mpg decreased from 33 mpg to 28 mpg. Car pulls strongly to the left. Having one hand on the wheel (e. G. Reaching for a. C. ) is not sufficient to keep it in a straight line. This has caused many near misses on two lane roads and now I just don't adjust a. C. Unless I have to (foggy window etc. ) I take i95 and this causes problems on ramps. I was told this was all related to the cv transmission, and it takes getting used to, but I had nissans with cv transmissions. For years. I have repair documentation but am unable to upload it at this time. Please contact me if you need them. I returned the car to the dealership immediately upon discovering the problem (within 48 hours of purchase) and they took no action or attempted repair until I had contacted them repeatedly.

8 Steering Column problem of the 2010 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

My 2010 crv sometimes doesn't start the first time. This happened more frequently over the last 6 months. What happens is when starting the car there will be a "click sound" but not the sound of the starter. . . . . Turn the key to the off position and try again and the car starts normally. Always starts normally on the second try. What I heard was a clear buzzing sound coming right from the steering column, near the ignition switch when the key was turned to the start position. No sounds from the engine at all. The sound was like an electrical buzz. After turning the key on and off three times, then the car started normally with no buzzing coming from the steering column. In searching the web, there are other crvs that report the same thing--abnormal sound at first start and then perfectly normal starts on the second try. This is the third time I took my crv to Honda dealer for the same problem. First time, battery was replaces. Second time, relay was replaced. No problem fixed.

9 Steering Column problem of the 2003 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/19/2006

Steering wheel locking mechanism is defective and drops unexpectedtly in my 03" Honda crv. Reported this problem to Honda corp and I am awaiting to see if it will be covered by them. When I called the dealer back I was told this was not the first time he had seen this problem. I feel this safety concern is not being addressed by Honda corp promptly and I am not allowing my wife and small child to drive the vehicle. The repair will cost a thousand dollars to fix, my expense I was told. When this problem with the tilt wheel locking system fails - this is a accident waiting to happen - especially at high speeds in a SUV.
