Takata recall driver side and passenger side front air bags have been replaced. Since replacement I have noticed that the dash warning lights indicate that the bags are not working and the side air bags also are not working, these warnings happen every time I start the car! I returned the car to the local dealer (the one that replaced both bags) and paid an additional fee to have the vehicle checked. At that time I also mentioned my complaint from purchase that the ignition key gets very hot and that the auto battery must be replaced every two years! their response was that they could not find anything wrong or unusual! the auto had 34849 miles on the odometer at the time (2/13/17) and contiues to date!.

Takata recall: in July 2016 my wife and I received a recall notice for the takata air bag on our 2011 Honda Cr-v vehicle. The air bag was allegedly replaced at that time, but the air bag warning light has come on several times since then (as I write this note in June 2018). I can document several additional times since the original recall repair was performed that the air bag light has come on, with the Honda dealership giving various explanations, while not solving the problem. If you include the original recall notice, I have 10 service repair records over 2 years showing the srs light coming on because of a problem or defect. My wife drives the car primarily, taking our son to and from school and other activities. She no longer feels safe driving this car and we now do not trust the local Honda dealership, which has provided often-changing answers or explanations for the air bag warning light issue. We hope you can help us.

The srs and seat belt systems are not functioning as expected. The warning lights came on, and Honda advises we need a new side impact air bag as system has failed. Honda will not replace this without charge of over $1000. Car has less than 100000 miles on it, how can the manufacturer not be responsible for lifetime warranty on a safety system? shouldn't that be a federal regulation- that the safety systems be warrantied for life? how can a manufacturer not stand behind its safety system? per the internet, this is not an isolated problem with Hondas. A recall on this very issue for other models was done, but despite the similar issue, no recall has occurred on this model. This seems like it needs investigation.

The airbag malfunction light came on intermittently. The dealer said they could only diagnose it when it was lit. It came on again near another dealer so we detoured there. They said it just needed to be reset. When I picked up the car I drove about 3 miles and the warning light came back on. I returned to the dealer. They said that there was a short in the controller board and the unit needed to be replaced. They replaced the entire airbag unit ($1300) and sent me on my way. About 2 miles from the dealership, the airbag warning light came back on. I returned to the dealer and the car remains there while they attempt to actually correct whatever is triggering the warning light.

The srs (safety restraint system) warning light came on in my 2005 Honda crv with less than 18,000 miles on it. The light will not go out. The car has never been in an accident. The Honda dealer has performed diagnostic tests that indicate that nothing is wrong and the air bags should deploy and seat belts should work in an accident. Who do I believe -- the warning light or the diagnostic tests. I don't like driving a car that has a warning light indicating something is wrong with a safety system.
