2 Engine Stall problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/11/2018

1. 2nd row driver and passenger seats do not "lock" into place when folded forward, creating a "free flying" seat when driving/in motion and an entrapment issue when parked for 3rd row passengers attempting to exit the 3rd row. This is specially dangerous on a hill. My 3 year old has been hit and injured by the seat on a several occasions. 2. Engine lurches and stalls while in motion. Stalling causes potential risk for accident. 3. Driver and passenger sliding door will not open on occasion. This means getting 2nd and 3rd row passengers out of trunk or climbing through to driver/passenger seat. All of these have been brought to the attention of the dealership, they cannot reproduce 1 and 3. Had no solution for #2 (a simple locking addition to the seat footing would fix #2, Toyota sienna's lock on place).

Honda's recall numbers are jb4 (Honda Odyssey) and jb5 (Honda pilot). Victory Honda refuses to replace short block--they claim my VIN number does not match complaint--called Honda amercan and they hung the phone up on me. Car was being driven on hwy 51 near covington (speed limit 55) I am also being told by victory Honda of jackson TN that my Odyssey falls under service bulletin 13081 (piston ring replacement) and not under bulletin service 13075 (short lock replacement). I am trying to verify this and can find no supporting data.

4 Engine Stall problem of the 2013 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 06/19/2017

There was a recall on my model. This piston rings wear prematurely and cause the engine to stall. The official report (recall #13v382000) lists one of the dangers as the fact that the engine can stall and increase the risk of crash/injury. However, Honda will not cover the repair as the vehicle has a salvage title. However, I do not see how this is not a safety issue and therefore should be legally required to be covered as it puts my family in danger.

5 Engine Stall problem of the 2007 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/11/2016

The engine stalls. This has occurred many times over the last year. It appears to be random but has been occurring more frequently the past few months. Last week it stalled 3 times. The stalling usually occurs during the summer months. It occurs when coming to a stop or when I am stopped. It has occurred one time while backing up. You can tell when it is going to happen. The engine seems to start running rough. When stopped, the engine will be at 800 or 900 revs and then suddenly drop then jump up and then the engine will shut off. I put the car in neutral and start the engine. It always starts fine. It happens on hot and cool days, rainy and sunny days. It happens with the ac on or the ac off. I have tried using gas exclusively from exxon and then exclusively from bp for months at ta time in each case. No difference. I have taken it to a mechanic and to the dealership multiple times. Nothing ever shows up on the computer. I even had it stall as I parked it at the dealership. The dealership nor the mechanics have not been able to find a problem. To try something, I had the spark plugs changed and a tune up done. The vehicle stalled the next day. I have reported the problem to Honda automotive USA. They gave me no help or solution other than taking it to the dealership. I am very leery to drive the vehicle. I don't feel safe!.

9 Engine Stall problem of the 2013 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 05/13/2014

The engine stalled and sputtered. The engine light came on and we went to the dealership. The dealer, Honda at the avenues in jacksonville, FL told us that they could not replicate the problem and sent us home. Two days later it happened again and when we took it to the dealer they told us that Honda was recalling our model and that we had to leave the car at Honda for the weekend. Something about replacing the engine block because of melting piston.

10 Engine Stall problem of the 1996 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/26/2014

Was waiting in the left turn lane to make the turn, light turned green and when trying to make the turn, vehicle stalled suddenly without any notice or engine problems. A family member was present in the car when this happened. Have had engine stall after starting before and had the battery checked. No issues were noted with anything before this sudden stall in traffic. Have researched and found numerous similar complaints with Honda vehicles and ignition switch problems with same results about vehicle stalling in traffic without any signs of the stalling about to occur.

11 Engine Stall problem of the 2004 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 10/14/2013

We have a 2004 Honda Odyssey, bought it used in the summer of 2009 with 79,766 mile. Now at 91,160 mile, it's having major issues. On October 12, 2013, we drove the van to the store and back home just fine. On Monday, October 14th when we tried to drive the van again, it would not reverse or drive at all. The engines starts up just fine in parking and in neutral gear. As soon as the gear was shifted to d or r, the engines stalled. Plus the d drive light was flashing prior to the failure. Searching online I found that owners of 2004 Honda Odyssey was having the same issue with the transmission failing. On October 22, I called to Honda America to see if I can get some assistance for helping with the repair. I was given a case number. That same morning, I had our Odyssey van towed to a Honda dealer to be diagnosis of the problem. I have never drove a car that transmission would fail. If Honda doesn't assist me with the repair, this will be the last Honda I will ever buy!.

12 Engine Stall problem of the 2002 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 03/03/2010

Driving on a residential street at approximately 25 mph, the engine suddenly stalled with no warning. After bringing the car to a stop, I was able to restart it. The idle speed is normal (~900 rpm). The engine and rest of drivetrain have been fairly trouble free. The only possibly related thing is that the car sometimes hesitates under normal acceleration around 30mph. I am taking the car to the shop tonight.
