The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to her residence. The contact contacted an unknown dealer and was informed that the engine needed to be replace due to coolant leaking into the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
Driving down the highway and noticed the car running funny and rpms were at 4000 instead of the usual 2000. When I let off the accelerator I heard a weird noise like something flapping in the wind. Gave it gas, noise went away. No warning lights, not overheating. After about 3 miles the oil light came on. I immediately attempted to get to the shoulder of the road and the car died within 30 seconds of the light coming on. Put it in neutral and coasted to a safe parking place. Checked the oil, the coolant, all was good. Nothing was leaking, no smoke. I tried to start the car and it started was running rough and died. Wouldnt turn over after that. Shop called and said the engine seized. Now its at the dealership waiting to see what the next step is.
