I purchased my Jeep in 09/2018 and I have reported numerous times that my left fog light turns on and off while driving. I took it back to the local dealership and the technician did not find anything wrong. The problem still perists and I have decided to not use my fog lights. Secondly, my radio turns off and on by itself while driving along with occassionally appearing with the enter anti-theft lock code. I took it back to the dealership and as usual the techinician did not find any issues. Most recently since 12/20/2021 my vehicle has been stalling out while driving and the sterring wheel is locking up and the battery light comes on. This issue is now becoming very consistent and happening every day. The vehicle has stalled out on me in the past week numerous times in traffic. My engine light is on, auto start and stop system is unavailable and electronic stability control system is offline. I have report the new development to my local dealership and they can not guarantee that the techinician will assess my car any sooner than my scheduled appointment on 1/18/2022. This is a major problem and based on the research that I have done, alot of the Jeep Cherokees have this issue.

While driving my Jeep will stall at a stop sign or turning. So stalls while stopped or moving. Put it in park, then eventually starts. Scary because as it is trying to start my flashers do not work. Have had everything checked and battery, alternator and engine show no codes or that they are ok.
I find it very hard to believe when I enter my VIN on your site it shows no recalls for this vehicle but when I enter my VIN on mopar. Com it shows about 4 recalls and three campaigns. My vehicle stalls while driving and it's unsafe for my kids. I got the issue repaired and the car stalls even more, there is a huge thump in the engine when I switch gears from park to revers or park to drive. Yesterday when I went to turn my car on the start button got stuck and the car did not turn on, my husband replaced the battery and got the car on but now the car won't turn off.

Jeep will stall while driving. Engine will shut off, lose power steering, cannot accelerate to try to get out of harms way, battery, oil and engine light will come on and receive a message saying to "shift to park or neutral to start the vehicle". If you want a couple minutes the Jeep struggle to turnover but eventually will. This is extremely dangerous and this vehicle needs to be recalled immediately!!!! this is a major safety issue!!! it has happened to me 6 times in the past 3 weeks. It happens while driving and occurs without warning on any street or highway, turning or braking.

The car is constantly stalling while driving and then shutting off immediately. It doesn't matter if I am on the expressway or side streets. This has now happened two days in a row. It is very dangerous! literally have to sit stranded in a place until the car starts back up. Yesterday Apr 2, 2021, it stalled in the middle of 57th and cottage grove in chicago and today apt 3, 2021, it stall on interstate 80 at the calumet exit heading west, with my child in the car. . . Regular maintenance has been done. New oil change and still stalls and shuts off. It's happening once a week and the dealership acts like they have no idea. Taking it back to the dealership for an appointment on 4/13!.
The vehicle stalls and looses power. Thumping in certain gears. Stalls and then jerks forward . Sometimes does not want to pick up speed even when hitting gas. This happens mostly on city streets. Rides smooth when on highway going high speeds. At low speeds jerks and stalls. Also gas tank light keeps coming on no one is able to fix it figure out what's wrong.

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee with the 2. 4l has repeatedly stalled while driving since purchasing 4 months ago. Upon doing research, I see there's been many recalls on similar vehicles with the same engine and year as mine, however mine is not covered. Considering my vehicle is also stalling while driving and decelerating, I am filing a complaint to broaden the recall to include more vins. On four separate occasions, my vehicle stalled while driving when slowing down but still in motion. It will not stay running for the past week when decelerating.
For the past 4 days, my vehicle stalls while driving without warning. It happens each time while decelerating, but still in motion. There are/were recalls on the exact year and engine models as my vehicle, but according to my VIN, mine is not included so I am filing a report. It is a 2019 2. 4l and stalls when in motion.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving for approximately 5 miles between 35-40 mph, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled. The vehicle made an audible dinging sound with a message displayed to turn-off the vehicle. The battery warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that after approximately 20-30 minutes the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

In the last 3 weeks I start my 2015 Jeep Cherokee as usual, shortly after driving when trying to accelerate from a stop the battery light comes on and the dash says cannot switch gears unless in park. The car then stalls and I have to shift into park and restart ,the scary issue is that I am sometimes stuck and cant move until I can restart the vehicle. There is only 57,000 miles on this vehicle .
6 months after I bought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee it stalled out of no where in the middle of an intersection and stalled after a couple minutes it started back up I took it in they said it was the battery but I doubt it cause it was 6 months old. Then it happened again and didn't want to start until the next day I took it in for service again and they said it was the oil being low I checked the oil myself and it was full and clean now it has happened to me a third time stalled on the free way with incoming traffic behind me and stall out of no where I do not feel safe in this vehicle no more! I think it has an engine electrical issue.
I was driving in a residential area (40 mph) when my car suddenly jolted as if I had suddenly stepped on the brake pedal and then the gas pedal. I stopped for a red light, and the car suddenly stalled. The engine and battery light were on, the seat/steering wheel warmer, and air conditioning system completely shut off. The monitor kept saying to step on the brake/start the car, I attempted to do this and nothing. I shut the car off and then tried to turn it on again multiple times and nothing. Thankfully, multiple people stopped to push me off into a parking lot, because many people started beeping and the car would not move whatsoever. I have had the car for only two months, this is extremely dangerous. If this had happened on the highway, I would have been in an accident.

Since we bought it new, it has stalled when turning (usually left) when the oil level gets low. I have taken it to the dealership where they have told me that I should have to put oil in it frequently and that the engine shutting off is a safety mechanism. The problem is, there is no indication that the oil level is low. So unless I keep track of how many miles I have driven, the Jeep will just quit on me. I have dealt with the issue until recently when I came within inches of getting slammed on my passenger door because I stalled in the middle of the oncoming traffic. If a low oil light came on, I would obviously have more oil put in, but I get no warning at all. It just quits. Usually in the middle of the road. The enclosed pictures are of when I had to put oil in it in November. The last episode of almost getting hit happened on Jan 16.

Car stalls after refueling to full capacity. Shuttered and stalled 3 times after refueling tank. The car gives off multiple warning lights ranging from transmission to battery, despite the transmission and battery being perfectly fine. Once the car begins to stall, the steering locks up and all power is lost. The car must be put in park and restarted, sometimes it struggles to restart.
2016 Jeep Cherokee sport with only 11850 miles began jerking and stalling while driving slowly. . . Finally it stalled completely and the low oil indicator showed. I then discovered the 2. 4l tigershark engine was down over 2 qts. There was no prior low oil indication. I immediately changed the oil and filter for the third time since 2016 when new. The vehicle stopped on a county road.
Vehicle stalls in traffic.
Around 2:30 am on December 30, 2020 I was driving home on the freeway. It was raining a little bit but nothing to what I have driven in before. I set my car to cruise at 65 mph when all of a sudden my steering wheel started locking up. I found that my steering wheel would not turn the way I wanted it to and was veering left. I had to use some force to keep it straight and not get into other lanes. I thought I was okay until a light lit up on my dashboard. I believe it was the engine light because as I heard it go off and flash at me, my car started to stall up and then go repeatedly. As if it was hard for it to grasp on to moving forward. Last night was the scariest night of my life and I hand never had that happen to me. Almost pulled over because I thought I was going to crash. I kept it at a stable 60 mph and off cruise control as soon as the steering went haywire and it seemed to have helped a bit. I feel the need to get my car checked but I also believe that all other 2019's should get recalled for this issue.
Using excessive oil with no lights coming on. Caused my car to stall in the middle of a hwy today with no warnings. Get it back home and it is 2 quarts low on oil again. I put oil in it 1 1/2 weeks ago.
Vehicle stall while parked or during mid turn. Vehicle would also have some sort of overheating which causes engine light to come one and vehicle starts to lose power causing lights to have a short flicker. All issue happen during motion and while parked.
On 12/15/20 I drove less than 1 mi. Downhill, stopped at the stop sign & the engine quit & battery light came on. Engine restarted about 5 min. I was low on gas, so gas was added & I filled tank. The engine quit the next day at the same spot. It restarted after a few tries. The battery indicator showed it had a charge & oil was good. Repeat stalling at same spot on 12/24/20 and on 1/2/2021. Very concerning as I was stuck in the middle of the street and could easily be hit. I had 27,000 & currently have 35693 miles. This vehicle was serviced before I got it and is too new to be having problems.
Car while running or driving just stalls for no reason. All electrical goes out as well. Also might just not start - essentially dead. Open front door and close it and the car starts again. It happens intermittently over the last 3 months. Mechanics are all over the place on the cause.
Tl-the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled without warning. The contact stated that after several attempts the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to blue ribbon Chevrolet Buick GMC inc (1701 s kerr blvd, sallisaw, ok 74955, (918) 416-4590) and the contact was informed that the oil level was low and as a feature of the vehicle, the vehicle stalled due to low oil level. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where an oil change was performed. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000. Ah.
As I was driving on the highway out of no where my Jeep begun to stall and all the lights shut off and lost power, I almost was involved in an accident due to loss of control of the vehicle this is the 3 time it happens in 2 days it runs fine and out of no where this problem happens. I checked with the code reader and alot if codes with the letter u popped up steering wheel sensor and other things I've never heard ofg I waited for the vehicle to get cold checked the harness and put a new battery. Brought it to have the alternator checked at advanced auto and the alternator is fine. Leaving advanced auto it happened again and I had to call road side assistance to tow the Jeep home. This morning it started running fine on our way to the store a mile away samething. What's going on? I research and theres hundreds of people with the same issue yet no results or clarification.
The vehicle will stall for no apparent reason. The most recent occurrence happened in the turn lane at a busy intersection, on a hill, in the rain. The car only restarted after several attempts. The vehicle will also lose steering for no reason while driving. The battery light will come on with the issues described above. Also, the car will chime while driving, with no trouble indication on the dashboard.
The starter went bad around 40,000 miles. Sometimes it starts other times it takes hours to start. I always get a notifaction that says starter protection mode engin warming after a few failed start attempts. The car stalls out often. Any turns shut the car off. Oil must be added twice a month to fix the stall issue. Half the time it says 4 wheel drive and cruise control unavailable. This Jeep is a lemon. A disastrous purchase. Should be a recall on the starters as many people have the same problem. 2 year old car costing me 900 to fix starter is a joke.
Car has had repetitive issues losing power directly after a sharp right hand turn. Completely loses power for a few seconds but long enough to potentially be rear ended. I have had it in the shop 3 times and they cannot correct the issue. I have been dealing with this issue for the last 30,000 miles and seems no help is comping from the dealership or manufacturer. I was originally told that it was a low oil issue although the oil was not low. This is the v6 version and does not consume oil like the 4 cylinder. Vehicle has been reflashed twice and dealership is unwilling to find source and fix. I have one particular turn on to a interstate highway I make every day and the vehicle consistently stalls on that turn. It is a potential for a serious accident and should be addressed by the manufacturer. There is hundreds of complaints online with the same issue and yet no recall or even a service bulletin. Please please please intervene before someone is injured.
Car stalls while while idling. Car has to be put back into park and it takes a few tries before the engine starts again. Dealer inspected the electrical system and replaced the battery 3 months ago.
On several occasions while driving at various speeds the vehicle has stalled out or died. Either while driving at low speeds or turning left/right the same thing happens. Without notice, light indicators for battery, automatic start, and now engine pops on while the steering locks up as the Jeep stalls. I've taken it to the dealership twice only for them to say there aren't any active recalls for my Jeep and that they don't know what is the cause for the vehicle to stall while driving. I service my vehicle regularly and keep up with the maintenance. I purchased this vehicle in August of 2018 on only have 34,588 miles. This makes no sense and I fear that my and the passengers in my Jeep lives are at risk from the malfunctions of this Jeep engine system. The manufacture has been no help for the numerous customer complaints that are having the same problems. I just wish they could actually fix it so I can have some piece of mind!.
Vehicles stalls completely and does not want to start it takes about 3 rounds of security mode of seconds before it will restart again.
Tl the contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and jerked intermittently without warning. The contact coasted to the shoulder of the roadway, turned off and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to frank fletcher Dodge Chrysler Jeep (3314 stadium blvd, jonesboro, ar 72404) where it was diagnosed and it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact also mentioned that the oil needed to be changed every 3,000 miles. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred multiple times. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 18v344000 (engine and engine cooling) as a possible solution the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
Vehicle stalls at start of day after driving no more than a half a mile. This has happened for the past two days in traffic. Battery light comes on after stalls and does not start. Letting it sit for awhile it eventually starts. Battery was fully tested and holds charge. Decided to park vehicle and have it towed to dealer as to not risk traffic crash.
Excessive oil loss in engine. Little oil on dipstick. Oil change is not due for another 4,774 miles. Vehicle stalls when driving no more than 1/2 mile.
Approx. 4:45pm when the temperature was 117, I was parked, with the engine off, waiting to pick up my dog at the vet. I had just driven 15 miles to this location = 25 minutes. Waited over 20 minutes for dog to be brought to car. When ready to leave, car would not start, all service/dash lights come on. (had air, radio, lights} waited over 40 minutes and finally car started. Drove directly home, again the 15 miles in about 20 minutes, backed into driveway, put car in park (did not turn engine off), took dog inside. When putting car in reverse to put car in garage, car stalled out. This was twice in one day!! this has been happening for the last 2 years on very hot days. Why no research/recall on this stalling out issue??.
Without warning my 2016 Jeep Cherokee will stall in the middle of the road. I have checked the oil after this occurred and there was very little oil left. No indicator lights came on and this has now happened while driving at about 35-45 mph and while making left turns. The oil is consistently changed at 5000 miles and this occurs after about 2000 miles.
Tl the contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at 15 mph, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled. A message displayed on the instrument panel instructed the contact to restart the engine. Crowley Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram 1461 farmington Ave, bristol, CT 06010, (860)261-3000 was contacted and an appointment was scheduled to have the vehicle diagnosed which was still pending. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
