36 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2017 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/01/2019

I have a few problems that is going on with my Jeep. One, there has been a few occasions where I am driving my Jeep, at a slow speed, and it will ding and lock up. Then it will shut off. I will have to sit for a few minutes before it will allow me to crank it again. I have also had an issue where when driving my Jeep to my destination, it does fine. But once I park, the car will not start again unless jumped off. I replaced the battery expecting that to fix it, but it did not. I have taken it to a dealership multiple times and no one can find a problem. There has also been some problems with it throwing a check engine light. The code says throttle position sensor. When I take it somewhere, they say the throttle position sensor is fine. I just want my car to be safe for me and everyone around me. My car has left me stranded on many occasions, and it is unreliable. I am scared to take my car anywhere except work and home due to the fact I don't trust it.

37 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/03/2019

I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee sport. My check engine light came on. I was told there was a thermostat issue. My total repair cost for this one problem was $866. 06 at the paramus NJ dealer. I'm extremely disappointed that I had such an expensive repair when my car is 2016 and I have less than 50,000 miles. I'm also disappointed that I was told only dealers can update the computer on my vehicle. I have heard of several Jeep owners complaining of sensor issues noting repair work wasn't necessary. Also, with the check engine light on my auto start did not work.

39 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/01/2019

I've had to replace my low beams 10+ times this year. They keep shorting our. Also have to have my engine thermostat replaced even though it's working fine. It's electrical keeps causing my check engine light to come on. And the fix is replacing something that is fully working. And because my check engine light is on I can't makw it through deq to get tags for my car. This is the 3rd (separate) electrical problem I've had with this car and I'm done. Keep should stand up for their product.

41 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/02/2018

After transmission recall repair, engine replaced due transmission recall repair 3rd time, vehicle idles rough when in neutral, check engine light came on and Jeep died. The vehicle started after a moment and the check engine light went off. Still having same issues after transmission repaired and a new engine due to the dealership resetting the computer instead of repairing the transmission. So new engine and repaired transmission, still having issues. Constant issue with the Jeep idling roughly, sometimes not starting or stalling in traffic on the highway and city streets.

42 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 10/07/2018

I was in the turning lane to turn into a grocery store and when I accelerated to turn my Jeep accelerated then the check engine light came on the service transmission light, traction control light, service parking brake light, there were several lights that came on and my Jeep was still running but stopped accelerating as I was turning into the store on a busy 4 lane road and I was pushing the gas but the vehicle would not move I coasted into the start of the parking lot where it was now telling me to shift my car into park as I did then shifted back to drive and tried to finish pulling into the store parking lot and still nothing. So I put the vehicle into park shut it off sat for a min turned it back on placed it back in drive the check engine light was still on so I drove it to the nearest auto zone to get the code checked because it was a Sunday (today 10/7/18) and the dealer ship is closed. They were unable to find a code and once the Jeep was turned back on all lights were off. I drove it home and parked it and I am taking it to the deal ship tomorrow. 2 weeks ago Thursday sept 27th my car stalled and shut off at a stop light while taking my kids to school the morning after filling my car with gas. It started back up immediately then shook like it may die again then nothing. No light indicators at all came on during that incident so I figured it could have been bad gas and thought nothing of it since I didn't have any other trouble til today. My children were with me both times and we got lucky this incident that happened today Sunday oct 7th 2018 we did not get hit because I barely made it into the parking.

43 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/13/2018

I ready took my car 3 times to Chrysler dealer, the issue is while I was driving the car shut off 5 times on the last 3 weeks, the dealer told me they cannot duplicate the fault so I need to keep driving like that, but what about if this happens on the freeway I will crash. I feel unsafe and the dealer don't want to do anything because they cannot duplicate the fault and is not a check engine light, and I ask what about if something happens to me or my family and they respond with Chrysler will cover everything.

44 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/09/2018

While driving a vehicle with only 4200 miles on it, the Jeep staled without warning. Jeep restarted and was driven. When I called the local dealership, I was informed to check my oil level - that it would be low and to refill. I asked how they know this and the dealership's service center informed me that this is a "known issue" with the 2. 4 liter engine and is "common". I checked my oil, sure enough, it was low - I would say two (2) quarts low (in a 5 quart system). No "check engine light", no "service issue announcement" from Jeep - no warning at all for a "known issue". This is inexcusable! oil temp was never above haft way, I still have 30% on the oil change meter. I owned a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and never had an issue with a 2. 4l engine. Can't wait to see what Jeep is going to do for all the Jeep Cherokee owners that this "know issue" is going to affect.

45 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/26/2018

Vehicle will randomly shut off while in motion. This happened today 7/26/18 and 2 other times this past month. No check engine lights or other warnings. After shutting off nothing on the vehicle works not even hazard lamps.

46 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2018 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/09/2018

After owning my brand new 2018 Jeep Cherokee for a few months, I turned on my vehicle and the service shifter warning came on in my dash and all the lights on my shifter lit up. I call the dealership and they told me to bring it in, so I took it and when I turned the car off, the message no longer appeared. The dealership took the vehicle for diagnostic testing and it said it came back fine. Upon getting my car back, it was randomly showing the service shifter message again so I took it back to the dealership two more times for the same issue and they stated that they couldn't duplicate the issue and so nothing was fixed. I have now owned the vehicle for 3 years and they refuse to fix the still appearing issue. No check engine light appears but I fear that whatever is causing the warning to appear may cause issues. I have read that many many others have had the same issue and the dealership wouldn't do anything. All three times I took my vehicle in, it was under warranty and they wouldn't do anything.

48 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2017 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/02/2018

While I was driving yesterday, my car died out on me. The car is only 6 months old. I was driving when the battery light began to flash and the car shut off on me. I had electrical power as the sterio was working, but the engine and power steering shut off without a check engine light. I was luckily able to coast into a parking lot and put the car in park. I shut it off pulled the key fob from the ignition and tried to restart it. It had difficulty turning over and about after 39 seconds it turned over and started. Then everything was normal. The car died out on me while going 45 miles per hour on a very busy street and I could barely turn the wheel to get into a parking lot. After this happened the car went back to normal and no warnings were displayed. I went to my uconnect app and it did not register the issue or say there was any issues on the car. If this happens on an expressway this can be deadly and it jeeds to be addressed!.

49 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/25/2018

Bought car August 2016, first noticed severe jolt/kick August 2017. It appeared randomly. So severe that the first 10 or so times I really thought I was rear ended. When traveling around 40-45 mph car jolts/kicks/jumps/drops (pick your term) when the car shifts gears. Doesn't happen every time, mostly when traffic is creeping along. And noticed that the car idled very roughly out of the driveway just before the check engine light came on all three times. Dealership resets computer then says they can't replicate issue, I've taken it in 3 times now for these issues with no real resolution. They are replacing valve body this time, my car is under two years old and I do not feel safe driving it anywhere.

50 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/14/2018

The check engine light is on once in two weeks. My local dealer in san diego (rancho Chrysler Jeep Dodge) said that there is a problem with engine gas valve. They said it was leaking. Each time this is the issue. This is my 4th time going to the dealer. I strongly believe that its very risky for passengers to drive such cars with leaks. I request NHTSA team to please review all Jeep Cherokee models as they need re-calls and its unsafe for public to drive such leaky vehicles. I was very afraid when I was turning on highway and my car started noise as if something is bursting, it was very frightening moment.

51 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2017 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

While driving the service shifter lighter appears on dash and shifter position lights all light randomly and has been becoming more frequent. They turn off once I stop, turn the car off, and restart the car. I have read models previously have been recalled for this issue but not 2017 which appears to have the same issues. Also I've had to change my spark plugs at about every 50,000 miles. I replaced them once already and once again I am having the same issue the check engine light is on and at times the car is shaking from the misfiring. The check engine light remains on at a times. The check engine light flashes and the car is shaking the power and acceleration are significantly reduced when the spark plugs are actively misfiring. This only occurs with accelerating and pressing on gas pedal and happens constantly while driving. I've never had to replace spark plugs this often they usually last atleast 100,000 miles. There is a problem when they barely last for half that and require replacement atleast 2 times before they should go bad. These seem to be a common issue but when you ask the dealer they act clueless and something needs to be done. These are costly problems that should not be occurring or occurring this frequently. Please investigate.

52 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/11/2017

My car is a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and only has 44,000 miles on it. I keep up with my maintenance. My check engine light came on and my heat isn't working properly. We took it to the dealership in mobile, al this morning and they are saying my warranty for this is up. It's $400 plus dollars to fix and I searched online and other people with this same vehicle are having this problem. This is obviously unfair to consumers. Please look into this matter.

53 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/16/2017

Transmission has been knocking very hard when I put it into drive. One day when I started my car in my driveway, the check engine light came on and a message stating "service transmission, place car into park then into desired gear. " once I put the car into drive, it felt and sounded like my engine was going to jump out of the car. I tried to turn my car off and restart it, however, I had no success with that. I have had no issues at all with my driving up until this point. I bought my Jeep in December 2013 and this issue occurred November 2017. I service my Jeep on a regular basis and do not drive recklessly. This issue happened all of a sudden. A day before this happened, I did notice when turned my car on and put it in drive, the transmission did "knock" into gear a lot more aggressively than normal.

54 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 09/05/2017

On September 5th, 2017 as I was driving (in motion) on a busy highway, I lost all acceleration power, my check engine light came on, and 'service transmission' showed on the display. I was able to pull over and I restarted my vehicle and was able to get home. Once there, I called the dealership and scheduled an appointment for the following week. I mentioned, while making the appointment, that the light and 'service transmission' display had gone off upon restarting my vehicle. They assured me that a fault would still be logged and to bring it in. After arriving at my appointment, the service technician pulled the logged code (p072900 (99 - house tech) a), said he has never seen that fault, and because it was no longer active they couldn't help me. There was no explanation of the code, no explanation of possible causes for the code to log, no examination of my vehicle, no recommendations for if it were to happen again.

55 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 09/05/2017

I parked the Jeep and turned it off and when inside for 10 minutes and started the car to leave and a bunch of lights came on like service engine and drive train. I put it in reverse and a huge clunk from the transmission happened I backed up and put it in forward and a huge clunk happened again. It shocked the whole car. I went forward and it barley would go. It took along time to get up to speed. It kind of shook and was really scarey. I brought it to the Jeep dealer and barely made it. The guy said the techs where all gone for the day. I couldn't leave it there so I started it back up and it worked fine. The check engine light was still on though. The next day I started it up and the light was off. It worked fine for 3 days until it all happened again the same stuff. So I turned it off and started it 10 minutes later and it was fine. It is a leased Jeep and I am going to bring it in this Friday. I want this fixed. I have read lots of the same problems with 100s of other people and it sounds like they are just giving people the run around. This is very unsafe and I want a new Jeep or a new transmission. I do not have any time to be going back to the dealership all the time or do I want to die in a car accident. The next thing that happens a that people are saying is that it will shift out of gear on the freeway and lots of people have almost crashed because of this. Thank you please let me know what you will do about this.

56 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/03/2017

Driving my vehicle over the weekend while in motion on a city street my vehicle turned off and then turned back on, the vehicle turned completely off no power could not do anything the vehicle turned on and was able to continue driving. Where my family and I were extremely nervous the remainder of the time while driving home. Thank god I was not driving on a busy highway where this problem could have caused an accident where my family and myself could have gotten seriously hurt or worse could have killed someone in my vehicle or any other vehicle due to an accident. When the vehicle turned on again the check engine light came on and the start and stop system light came on advising to have the system checked, the rest of the time the vehicle was being driven home it constantly sounded like it was going to loose power and turn off.

57 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/11/2017

"service transmission warning and check engine": vehicle moving uphill, auto transmission shifts to lower gear; transmission begins to slip and ability to maintain speed drops; happened in middle lane of interstate; managed to exit interstate and park; very little power to move vehicle; safely parked and turned off engine. Waited 2 - 4 minutes; restarted engine; service transmission warning off; check engine "on". Vehicle operated normal; check engine light went off later; had loosened gas cap and retightened to see if check engine light would go out - it didn't have an immediate effect on the light. Had to maneuver behind 18 wheeler and crawl speed up the exit ramp. Ended up cross ways in a side road for a few minutes while the transmission 'feathered' vehicle to safe spot. No collision this time. Vehicle has been in shop for similar complaint one month earlier. And more times previously.

58 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/18/2017

Just bought with 40k miles one month ago (1/21/2017). 1 week after buying, while driving through the middle a busy city intersection, the engine shuttered and shut itself off. I was right in middle of intersection. The display indicated that I had to put the car in neutral to restart. I did, but it restarted and pressing gas didn't even rev the engine. I waited about 30 seconds and restarted. It worked and I drove away. Found out about safety recall that day and had Jeep dealer do the recall the next day. Then, 2 weeks later, I was in park at the vet with the engine on, the engine stuttered and did the exact same thing. I restarted it and again, pressing the gas. . . Even flooring it. . . Did not even rev the engine at all. I waited about 30 seconds, restarted, and drove off fine. I got an oil change with full synth (0w 20) oil the next day, because of some reports that the oil could be part of the problem. Then only a week later (yesterday, 2/18/17), I was on a trip to west virginia with my wife (140 miles from home), and was driving away from a stop light (turning right) and it did the exact same thing. The engine just shuttered and shut itself off while driving. I was lucky to drift close to the side of the road, but I didn't even get fully off the road, restarted, and no amount of pressing the gas would even rev the engine. I turned it off, waited 30 seconds, and restarted. It works, though it doesn't seem smooth any more, but now the check engine light is on. I've had many vehicles, but have never had a problem like this. I will be going back to Jeep to have them look at it, but I don't want to keep paying for visits where they can't find anything (like a lot of folks with this particular model on the boards). I love this vehicle, but I'm actually afraid to drive it.

59 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/19/2017

Purchased brand new- at 20k miles had to have the gear shift motherboard replaced after the vehicle began to jolt when driving almost causing a wreck. It would jolt when coming to a stop or taking off. I was told it was the electrical component not relaying properly to tell the car to shift gears and what gear to shift to. I read several online forums where hundreds of people were having the same issue. That was in Aug of 2016. Now im having to take it in again because the check engine light is on. I do all maintenance service on time so not sure what the issue is this time but very upset that my 1st brand new car and I am experiencing issues so early on. Once I take it in for the check engine light I will update this to reflect what I am told is the problem.

60 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/16/2017

I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee sport 2. 4l 4cyl. I bought it new in September of 2015. The original warranty is for 36,000 miles and at 41,000 miles, my check engine light came on. The Jeep would not warm up and blew luke warm air on the hottest setting. There was also a dripping sound heard from behind the front dashboard. Before I had the opportunity to take it in to the dealership for diagnosis, the electronic throttle control (etc) warning light came on. Driving your Jeep with the etc light on could lead to the complete engine failure. I took my Jeep in on Saturday to the dealership where I purchased it and they were unable to conduct a diagnosis because they only had limited staff there for the weekend. Therefor I had to continue to drive my Jeep for multiple days. I returned on Monday and they charged me $80 to run a diagnosis. The result was a faulty thermostat. They informed me they could fix it for $550-$600 dollars. They also informed me that the part was on backorder of more than 50,000 parts across the nation and it would take a couple weeks to have the part delivered. I ordered the thermostat housing part at a cost of more than $60. The part is only $20 on-line from their part distributor, but they marked it up another $20 and charged another $20 for shipping. I was informed it would take 4 hours to replace due to its location at $118 an hour, plus the cost of coolant. Since I have been waiting for my part, they would not provide me a vehicle and therefor my Jeep has overheated multiple times. With over 50,000 parts on back order and this being a Jeep manufacturer's defect, there should be a recall at no cost to the consumer.

61 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/13/2017

Check engine light came on December 17th and when we were able to take it into the dealership for the third time with transmission light on also, they were supposed to complete the repair and did not. As of January 16th, 2017 we have been notified that when the check engine light came on again and was hooked up to be diagnosed the engine needed to be replaced. We cannot get a straight answer on anything but I know it is related to the transmission. All that Jeep has done each time is reset the computer to wipe out the warning lights and sent us on our way. It could have at anytime injured or killed myself, my husband, child and anyone else while we continued to drive the vehicle.

62 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/16/2016

For the 3rd time - check engine light, check gas cap light come on, odometer starts flashing and vehicle loses all acceleration after those lights come up. You can floor the gas pedal and the vehicle will barely get to 40 mph. Last time it was brought to the dealership they performed flashes (3 weeks ago) and the issue went away. Happened again today while pulling out of a busy shopping center and the car lost the ability to accelerate and had to limp it home to be towed to the dealership. The dealership advises they are unaware of any issues like this however there are multiple reports of this make\model\year having this exact same issue. The first time it happened I was doing 80 mph on the interstate and the car immediately dropped to 40 mph nearly causing a collision.

63 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 09/16/2016

Transmission problems for almost a year now, truck violently jerks forward on acceleration mostly from a dead stop but sometimes in motion and on deceleration has almost caused many front and rear accidents. Recently on my way home from new jersey the check engine light came on indicating service transmission the vehicle lost power while I was on the parkway almost caused an accident. I pulled over and turned off the vehicle then restarted the check engine light was still on, but I regained power to drive. That lasted a minute or two then the same thing happened. Truck lost power was in a fail safe mode barely drove above 30 or 40mph. What a long, unsafe trip home to say the least. I've had nothing but problems with this truck and have numerous complaints and repairs at the dealership. Now it's apart of this recall and no parts are available. The dealership says this problem is the recall, but they can't fix it yet. I've been without my truck for almost 2 weeks this is awful and I'm frustrated and fed-up with this vehicle. I want out of this lease ASAP. And ps they put me in a Dodge dart loaner care are you kidding me I drive a truck for a reason!.

64 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/24/2016

I have had all kinds of electrical issues with my 2015 Cherokee trailhawk 4x4 and this all happened after they did 4 upgrades on my computer at dealership, when picked up SUV the check engine was on, took back to dealer and they said they flashed it what ever that means. The check engine disappeared afterwards, I have had issues with it lunging when letting foot off brake due to the auto on & off feature and just recently was driving and the air bad light, traction light, 4 wheel drive and check engine light came on I pulled over due to this and when putting in park felt like someone rear ended me in which they didnt, the 4 wheel drive light comes on with message that four wheel drive has been disabled contact dealer, that started it all that morning. Then all the other lights illuminated and beeping, I took to dealer in richmond ky and they brought out the scanner and scanned it and printed off several things that was coming up then advised me they couldn't do anything to check vehicle for 2 weeks I then called lexington dealer and they said bring it in, I had it towed to lexington dealer, now they say they cant get it to duplicate anything. Well now this is the issue I have intermittent electrical issues that deems this vehicle unsafe to drive because it is can shut down as others has said or catch fire or accelerate on its own etc. There is definitely issues with this vehicle that no one can explain. I have ask dealership to contact Jeep mfg/Chrysler to see about what they say its very scary having a vehicle that you cant trust to be safe in. Its already had me rear end a car by the lunging after you let off brake now this. . . I just feel unsafe in my new vehicle. . . . I purchased this vehicle to to be a safe one. And its definitely not safe due to being intermittent electrical issues. Dealers doesn't have a clue about the electrical malfunctions of these cars.

65 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/15/2016

Numerous computer/electrical intermittent issues with vehicle. Most recent episode the care would completely shut down at freeway speeds. No engine, no lighting, as if it was hit with an electromagnetic pulse. This unfortunately locks the steering as well. The key fob is non responsive. After 5-7 minutes (if you happen to not get hit and die), the car comes back to life (interior lights come back and after another minute will start). Also have had "service air bag indicator system", "service parking brake", "service transmission", "4wd system unavailable", check engine light, traction control light, battery light, parking brake amber service light, flashing odometer, flashing d in dash. Dash completely goes blank intermittently as well. Transmission has also been stuck in neutral numerous time (can not turn car off unless in park, cannot shift). Numerous trips to dealer for warranty service. This last time they found a ground connection loose in the driver side kick panel. So if that ground comes loose or frayed, the car can just kill me?.

66 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/04/2016

On 06/04/16, at 12,600 miles, the Jeep failed completely on the freeway. We were driving 50 mph in heavy southern CA traffic when the ¿transmission service required¿ light and the red check engine light flashed on and we lost all power. This happened instantly and without any warning. We had to throw on the hazard lights and Dodge oncoming traffic to move over 3 lanes to exit the freeway at less than 5 mph. This was a terrifying experience and we are lucky the Jeep did not cause a major accident! the tustin Jeep dealership did a software update and said it was fine. Fca has remained adamant that the problem is not mechanical, but software related and have released 3 software patches to date but we see no improvement. One week later on 06/13/16 the transmission was still functioning poorly (hard shifts, up shifting as you apply the break downhill, etc. ) and then we had another problem. The alarm went off without warning and would not shut off, even when the Jeep¿s engine was turned on. Only after several minutes and pushing every button on the key multiple times did it finally stop. We took it to placentia Jeep and they looked into the transmission and alarm. After having our Jeep for a week, they did yet another software update for the transmission and disconnected the gps. They explained that the gps that was installed at the dealer after the fact was interfering with the factory installed alarm, and that caused the alarm to go off at random. This is a big problem because we were charged $1295 extra for that feature and it is now disconnected. The dealer also found that the battery power was below half, and they felt that the radio was pulling from the battery even when the Jeep is turned off. They found no resolution for this problem and asked us to return after a week or two to reassess the problems.

67 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

Check engine light came on related to thermostat liftgate has been leaking since the beginning transmission is slipping or dragging constantly.

68 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/04/2016

After only 21000 miles and regular maintenance at the dealership, my check engine light came on. The dealer would not book me a service appointment any sooner than one week out. Two days after the check engine light illuminated, as I was driving on a city street to work, a "service transmission" warning appeared and the vehicle immediately became unresponsive. Even switching to tiptronic and no matter how much the gas pedal was depressed, I was not able to accelerate nor have the engine rpm move beyond 1000 rpm. I was lucky that I chose not to take the highway to work or I would have been rear-ended with the car slowing down so much.

69 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/22/2016

My Jeep Cherokee 2014 has 21181 mileage and the check engine light came on . I notice that that the car was shifting into gear hard and at times would not accelerate when getting on the freeway . So my husband took it to get the oil changed at the dealership where we bought the Jeep and they said everything looked good. Well when my husband left all the dummy lights came on he turned right around and went back to the dealership ,the service manager came out and said the tech put the wrong oil filter on and that they would have to redo the oil change . On a month later the check engine light comes on so we call the dealership and ask if maybe them putting the wrong filter on that I would cause the check engine light to come on . The service manager said no that we would have to take it to Jeep . It is still under warranty because it is under the mileage . But I looked on the complaint forum and seen many people having the same problem some having a hard time getting Chrysler to help them . And almost all of them having the transmission replaced . I find that to be very disturbing considering I have only had the car for 8 months . I feel that the car should be replaced this is a dangerous situation that could cost lives . Thank you .
