Coolant Leaking Problems of Jeep Cherokee

I have oil leaking from between the engine and cylinder head which has leaked enough to coat the engine block and is also losing coolant. Dealer diagnosed as a seepage says is normal and says Chrysler won't fix it. So according to Chrysler your 2. 4 engine is supposed to leak and burn oil. This is a fire hazard.

Driving on highway when over temperature light came on. Coolant leak cause by rubbing on coolant overflow line. Poor design of engine components.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While driving, the vehicle had difficulty shifting into the next gear and the rpms suddenly increased. Transmission pops out of gear while driving on highway , vehicle comes to a stop and rolls back and when put in gear it takes more than 10 seconds to engage after gas is applied. Vehicle also stalls out when you come to a stop, once it stalls out you have to put vehicle in park and turn ignition off and try to turn it on again almost got hit from behind couple times. Engine has external head gasket leaks vehicle had less than 20k once transmission start acting up and leaking coolant from engine between cylinder head and block all around engine. There has been a leak from the cabin or doors from day one when car was new once you get to 45+mph and brakes also chatter I had the brakes replaced 3 times less than 30,000 mies on the car the chattering keeps coming back. Vehicle stalls and transmission pops out og gear on the highway. It throughs a transmission fault code and turns check engine light on fault code p0887-00 tcm circuit falt im scared to drive he vehicle and Jeep wont do anything. Im scare for my life to drive the vehicle its dangerous please help.

Sorry I'm not sure why it does this. . . When I'm driving sometimes and I take my foot off the gas to slow down. . For some reason my car on it own. . Speads up. . I watch the rpm and there is a big jump in rev. . I'm not sure what that is. . I actually lurch forward. I'm scared that one day it's going to hit a person or go through the wall of my garage! the second thing is my light switch I am not sure why but twice it's pushed into my dash board . . . The first time it happened I was stuck at dusk . . Couldn't drive. . My normal dealership in north seattle called the dwayne lane in everett and they told my dealership that they won't do waranty work. . So my dealership had to send out a guy from service and drive all the way to everett to do a temporary fix. . . The third complaint . . Now at 9500 miles there's a leak in my engine coolant. . And it left me stranded in everett and had to be towed. . By the way tryed to go to the everett dealership dwayne lane and again they wouldn't help me this time. . I had no ride home and they wouldn't provide a rental car. . Even though I paid for a very expensive extended warranty. I had the car towed the next day to marysville Jeep dealership and they are wonderful! don't buy from dwayne lane in everett!!!! the service department is the worst in the country. I've heard many horror stories from clients. . To tow truck drivers . . To other dealers.

As with many other xj owners, my cylinder head is cracked due to the defective 0331 head. I bought the Jeep about 3 years ago, and about a year ago coolant started leaking into the oil. I talked with several mechanic friends and the head fleet mechanic at work told me the cracked head is extremely common. I was stranded on the side of the road, had to have the vehicle towed, and it sits as a giant paperweight in my garage as I cannot afford a new engine. I bought the vehicle with 122000 miles and have never taken it off road, modified it, or traveled more than 60 miles in a day. It has never overheated until the head cracked. Now I am looking at an enormous bill that my family cannot afford. I fail to see how so many vehicles can be affected and there is still no recall.

Temperature gauge showed increase past normal operating temperature and into red-marked range. After letting engine cool and shutting it off, coolant reservoir was empty. Refilled coolant and drove until it began overheating again, and coolant reservoir was again empty. No signs of coolant on the outside of the engine, none leaking out below. Suspect cracked head and coolant leaking into the engine.

I recently purchased a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with the 4. 0 motor in it. I have been having loss of coolant lately. No leaks no puddles but coolant is disappearing from my over flow bottle. A quick search on the internet revealed that this is a common problem with 2000 4. 0l motors. Turns out the head cracks. Closer inspection reviews a cracked head at 35k miles the Jeep has cracked a head. Unreal.

The engine has 150,00 miles. It is losing coolant with no puddles to show for it. The oil pressure gauge shows 0 at idle. The engine constantly overheats. No sign of head gasket leak. Coolant overflow tank fills with coolant/oil/rust mixture after running the engine for 5 minutes. Door locks don't work sometimes. Tail lights work on and off while the lights are off. All problems started within the last year.
