Engine Oil Leaking Problems of Jeep Cherokee - part 2

Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact was in the process of checking the oil in the vehicle engine, when it was noticed that the oil was a quart low. The contact stated there were no leaks. The vehicle only had 4,000 miles at the time. The contact stated the problem recurred on three different occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer larchmont Chrysler Jeep Dodge located at (2533 boston post rd, larchmont, NY 10538 (914) 636-3030) were it was diagnosed and determined there was not a problem with vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,344. As.

Dealer diagnosed an oil leak from the vehicle oil filter housing, which is located on top of the engine, during a routine oil change. The oil appears to be leaking from a gasket at the base of the housing or the housing is cracked. Oil pools in a valley, on top of the hot engine, while running, presenting a fire hazard. Dealer was unable to repair for a week. Awaiting repair under warranty.

Vehicle has stalled twice at a 30 mph rate of speed due to oil low not empty. If vehicle should fall below 2 quarts of oil, vehicle may stall and stop working properly while in motion. My vehicle hold 4-5 quarts of oil and was not due for an oilchange and stalled twice while on residential road. Dealer stated my vehicle should remian a full level of oil in order for it to not stall!!! no oil leaks or mechanical issues were found during service.

This is a newly leased vehicle. After driving at 65 mph for about 20 minutes and then stopping, a burning smell was observed. After opening hood, smoke was rising from behind the engine, but no fire. Oil was observed leaking underneath the vehicle and engine oil level had dropped below the recommended level. Oil was leaking onto the skid plate and exhaust which caused the smoke. Vehicle was driven back to the dealer for repairs. Dealer stated the oil pan seal was leaking and replaced the seal immediately at no charge to me.

2 times already I have had to take my car into the dealership because it would shut off randomly while driving. This has happened while on the highway and also while on busy streets. So far I have been able to drift to the side of the road, put the car in park and then turn the car off and back on. The car sputters when restarting and on multiple occasions will stall again. Both times they tried to blame it on the oil change being overdue. The 2nd time I had to have the car towed to the dealership and they stated there was no oil in the car. How a car loses oil if there isn't a leak, I'm not sure. This is now the third time it is happening and based on the car's computer I still have 30% to go before needing an oil change and the car is shutting off on me again randomly. I was at the dealership for the 2nd time less than 3 months ago. I drive in miami and have been lucky that my son was not in the car with me.

Temperature into red on several occasions and lowers when heat turned on. Oil pressure to zero at start up and while driving at range of speeds. Engine check light on. Been for repairs 5 times. Have been told rack and pinion leaking, needs new short block, gauge panel faulty, catalytic converter, and again new short block needed. Problem persists.
