1 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/10/2021

The first complaint is when the car was overheating and it needed a new transmission which was covered under the power train warranty. The second was when the car would have difficulty accelerating, and the main incident was when I was on the freeway (westbound 80 in hercules, CA) and the car would not accelerate beyond 60 mph so I needed to exit and when I was able to safely park the car, it died on me and I had to have it towed to the dealership, costing me over $2500 in repair regardless of the fix a couple years ago. This most recent incident occurred when at a stop light (antioch, CA)the car started shaking about to the die and the screen read must place car in park. after placing the car in park the car started up again, but at every stop the car would shake. Most recently (concord, CA) an alert came on the screen service shifter. after doing my research I was informed that my car may have been a part of a recall affecting the engagement of the gears. Bringing it to the dealership I was told it was not part of the recall, but am still concerned about the vehicle shifting gears, or lack thereof. I have documentation of the repairs and complaints, but do not have access to them right now. If needed I can provide them.

2 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/05/2020

The Jeep has 36. 4k miles. When I drive the car is overheating and shoots all the way hot into the red and then cools down, then goes up again. It happened 4 times in 15 min. We filled it with antifreeze. There is no leak. The dealer couldn't find a problem but my mechanic says it's an engine defect that Chrysler needs to fix. It also has a cylinder misfire that I have had to have fixed by Chrysler twice in September and December because it chugs when I start the car and at stop lights. The check engine light comes on. They say it's bad spark plugs. I only drive about 14 miles a day.

The fan that cools engine that Chrysler installed in the factory had little cracks that eventually broke fan blade and was causing the vehicle to overheat. Fan needed to be replaced at $500. 00 because of inferior plastic fan that they put in the vehicle at factory.
