The inspection recall on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee did nothing to fix the problem with pcm and catalytic converter specified in the defective issue within the recalls issued. This harms the driver, pedestrians, other passengers and motorists. The tech where I went to have recall work performed ordered parts (see attachment), but nothing was installed on my vehicle. Only "inspected. " the tech was told of detailed poor performance and symptoms of a bad pcm. Such as shifting, stalling, fuel economy & hard to start. The Jeep is not operating optimally & this could mean there are. Other problems between different systems. All of these are indications of a faulty pcm. As well as the abs light being on the dashboard. The pcm is a "critical" system & needs to be replaced. I'm requesting that you fix this problem for free, as it is defective and could mingle with other systems and cause a complete vehicle break down. Or refund the cost to me in full, including labor charges, if I replace/repair myself. If this defective part is not fixed, it could result in property damage, in which cdj would be liable for. Please advise as to how you can help enforce the manufacture to fully repair these defective parts & remedy this problem on fixing the faulty pcm & catalytic converter within a recall and possibly the abs system and transmission. The vehicle stalls on highway, in park, on the street, when stopped and then it stalls out and is hard to start. It also has not been able to go in reverse ( back up). Which mean it's not getting proper lubrication. Also, the alarm goes off when using key to gain access. Unhooking battery to reset does not help.

Abs esb indicator light on. While driving through busy intersection, !!brake!! red indicator came on and stopped my vehicle from moving. Was able to pull to the side of the intersection to not be hit and restart the Jeep. Once restarted no lights on at all. Traction control keeps setting off on its own for no reason causing the abs/esb lights to appear. Turn traction control off and problem still exist. Becoming unsafe and no way to figure out what is wrong.

Received a safety recall notice some time last year 2014. Called and no one was of much assistance. Said the parts were not available. They asked for my email and I never received any correspondence back. Took the Jeep to the dealer as the safety recall letter stated and they said they could not help me out. No accidents yet but I am very concerned for my safety. My tps light stays on constantly. I get my tires checked frequently to fix the issue and everytime I go, I am told my tires are fine. As I was driving, all abs and traction lights go off, making it very difficult to brake safely. I was told my serpentine belt had to be replaced. I had this issue fixed last year, and it was not inexpensive. It has been less than a year and already the problem shows up again. I feel very unsafe driving and I feel this is a recall issue that needs to be addressed. I would appreciate it if someone would contact me regarding this problem and help me out so that I can feel safe while driving.

Driving the vehicle from the driveway doen the road to a stop sign. When applying the brakes noticed that the pedal went down to the floor and the brakes did not grab to stop the vehicle. Holding the pedal to the floor heard a sound (like air releasing from a basketball) and the vehicle slowly began to slow down and roll to a stop. Acrefully reached my destination which was a short distance. Left vehicle in parking lot and went to work. Came out approximately three hours later. Air temperature had warmed up to above 32 degrees. Drove vehicle again and brakes worked normally. Called dealership the next day and they said since no abs light came on they really couldn't do anything. They suggested that maybe there was air in the brake line. Well on Feb. 18th it happened again after the vehicle was outside in the cold and the wind chill was in the single digits. I called the dealership immediately and was told to bring it to them. I did and the service person when moving my vehicle to "around back" had the same occurance. Brake pedal going all the way to the floor and vehicle rolling to a stop. Well the mechanic didn't get to the vehicle until later in the day when the air temperature warmed up and he found that the brakes were functioning normally and he could not find any issue with the brake lines, brake master cyclinder, or abs. The dealer has kept the vehicle overnight but I am concerned they will find no issue. I do not want to drive the vehicle until I am assured that the brakes will function properly in all weather condions.

Took Jeep to dealer on Jan 22 07 for abs light check. Was notified my dealer that there was a recall on my car for secondary detent system recall bo2. Dealer serviced detent recall malfunction. When I picked up the car the automatic shift lever would not go down to 1st and 2nd gear, it was being blocked by an internal obstacle under the shift council. Took car in next day around 11:30 am and service writer wanted to keep car overnight. Set appointment with him to bring it in next day Jan 24 07. Dealer advised me that my shifting bezel was broken and needed to be replaced for $95. 00. I advised dealer that shifter worked fine when I brought it in and that they needed to fix whatever it is that they broke. Dealer replied that it was broke before I brought it in and working on the council caused things to shift and thus caused the obstacle. I arrived at the dealer and they said that if I had not brought in my car that it would still be working fine. , dealer agreed with me but wants $95. 00 to fix it. ,. I declined the offer. Took car home and removed shifting council to find that red shift marker was no longer centered around the shift lever and a rubber washer was no longer centered around the shifter. Pulling the shifter back towards drive caused the shifter to be stuck at drive because the red shift marker bezel would not allow shifter to go any further and thus blocked shifter from going from 1st or 2nd gears. While driving the car in this condition the shifter would pop into neutral when a road bump was hit and thus I would loose power, thus an unsafe driving condition. Upon picking my car up on Jan 22 07 around 5 pm I was not advised that my shifter was not working properly or that I was driving off in a vehicle that now had an unsafe driving condition.

Brake system - vehicle keeps displaying warining message "service electronic braking system". Dealership has tried to fix this message on four attempts. Parts have been replaced along wth updates to the calibration by Chrysler all to no solution. Problem usually returns less than a day or two after receiving vehicle from dealership. Dealer noted one other customer is having the same problem, Chrysler is trying different methods on each vehicle top correct the problem. . . . Ie. They are not sure why it is happening and are basically throwing darts hoping to cure the problem.

Abs light flashes off and on. Had brakes checked out. Brake pump motor was failing, which would cause vehicle to have no brakes. Dealer contaced.
The vehicle was experiencing sudden throttling when traveling at about 35 mph. Consumer was informed that this was dangerous by a mechanic, but the cause was undetermined. When turning the air conditioner or heater it makes the engine throttle up and stay at accelerated speed. When the consumer takes his foot of the gas pedal the vehicle slows down until you turn on the heat or air. The consumer stated that when you start from a stopped position with the fan on, after you attained the speed you want and take your foot off the acceleratorthe speed and rpm will stay the same and will not slow down until the brakes are applied. The consumer stated that he had to turn the fan off at a complete stop in neutral to get the vehicle to function properly. Under heavy braking the brakes had a bad pulsation which caused the abs light to come on. Radio and speakers needed to be replaced.
Antilock brake warning light illuminated.
Antilock brakes light stays on.
Abs light in the dash has lit several times. Consumer wasn't able to find anything wrong. The light illuminated every 3 to 4 days.
