The vehicle is a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with open safety recalls t59 and v62. The brake warning light is currently illuminated, and based on the symptoms I believe the brake booster may be failing. The braking system is available for inspection upon request. The safety concern is that the vehicle may have reduced braking assist or impaired braking performance while being driven. This creates a risk of increased stopping distance, loss of braking confidence, or inability to stop safely in traffic. I contacted the fca/stellantis-recommended Jeep dealership in lapeer, michigan multiple times this week to schedule recall-related service. I was repeatedly transferred to service voicemail and did not receive return calls. When I called back and asked to speak with someone else, I reached the service manager. I explained that the vehicle has an illuminated brake warning light and that I suspect the brake booster may be failing. The service manager focused on where I lived, why I was not using a closer dealer, and mentioned that the vehicle is 14 years old, rather than clearly arranging recall service or addressing the brake safety concern. The problem has not yet been inspected or confirmed by a dealer because I have been unable to obtain timely service despite repeated attempts. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. The warning lamp currently present is the brake warning light. The exact first date the warning light appeared was within the last 2 weeks.

Vehicle has two open unrepaired recalls: t59 (NHTSA 17v-572, brake booster water shield) and v62 (NHTSA 19v-813, fuel pump relay). The brake booster is currently symptomatic — an audible humming noise is present when the vehicle is stopped and idling, consistent with vacuum loss in the brake booster system. I contacted lafontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of fenton, michigan to schedule the recall repairs. An appointment was set for 8:15 am on April 24, 2026. I requested a loaner or rental vehicle as the dealer indicated they would need to keep the vehicle over the weekend for the work. The dealer never followed up regarding the rental. Instead, the dealer contacted me to appraise my current vehicle and discuss new vehicle inventory. The recall work was never discussed. When I did not appear for the appointment, the dealer did not follow up or offer to reschedule. I then contacted stellantis customer service directly and explained the situation, including the active brake booster symptom. The stellantis representative connected me with a second dealership, bill snethkamp Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram on woodward avenue in detroit, michigan, then disconnected from the call without notice. I was left explaining the situation a second time to a dealership that informed me they do not provide loaner vehicles. The rental option requires me to pay out of pocket upfront and then seek reimbursement from the manufacturer in the form of a check. This is not a viable option. Additionally, this dealership is located approximately one hour from my residence in flint, making it logistically impractical for recall service. I am currently driving a vehicle with an active safety defect affecting the braking system. The recall remedy language states that limited braking ability can cause a crash without prior warning. Neither the manufacturer nor two dealerships have provided adequate accommodation to complete the recall repair while ensuring I have safe transportation during the service per.
Our office has received several notices for a recall on this vehicle regarding the anti-lock brake system module. The first notice was post marked 6/3/24 with recall code z48/NHTSA 22v-426. The second notice was for a 94b/NHTSA 24v-838 recall postmarked 12-4-2024 and another employee took it in to a dealership on 2-12-2025 to be repaired. We have received two more notices, one in January 2026 and another in April 2026 with the same recall code. I called the dealership both times and they claimed both times, to not have parts for the recall. This is a federal vehicle used for public service work. We would like to get this resolved so that we do not have any safety issues in the workplace.

While driving the breaks faultered and I had to slam on the break. I had to press all the way down on the break pedal to slow down or stop. Also when stopped at a light the car turns off and puts itself in park. I had to turn the car off and back on again to fix it. My safety and the safety of others was at risk due to chance of a significant car crash due to faulty break system. I had a near miss accident due to this reason. I will be calling the car dealership to tow the car to have it inspected. The abs light came on as well as check engine light. Service power steering light also came on.

Subject: vehicle fire following abs recall repair – safety complaint I am filing a safety complaint regarding a vehicle fire that occurred shortly after a recall repair was performed. Vehicle: Jeep (grand cherokee/2019) mileage at time of incident: approximate: 58,350 approximately four weeks ago, my vehicle underwent a recall repair related to the abs system at westgate Jeep located in raleigh, nc 27617. Following that repair, I experienced brake issues due to air in the brake lines, which required a return visit to the same service provider for correction. On April 5, 2026, the vehicle caught fire while parked in my driveway. The fire originated in the front driver-side engine compartment area, where the abs and brake components are located. The fire caused extensive damage to the engine bay, wiring, and surrounding components, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Given the timing and location of the fire, I am concerned that the recall repair or subsequent brake system work was performed improperly leading to either a brake fluid leak or an electrical malfunction or defective parts that caused the fire. This incident presents a serious safety risk, as it could have resulted in injury or loss of life. I am requesting a full investigation into: - the quality and safety of the recall repair performed - whether improper installation, damaged components, or fluid leaks contributed to the fire - whether other vehicles repaired under this recall may be at similar risk the vehicle has not been altered or repaired since the fire and is available for inspection. Supporting documentation (repair invoices, photos, etc. ) can be provided upon request. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed urgently to prevent potential harm to other drivers.
Abs module / hcu shorted internally. Both had to be replaced. These are on recall for many 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the dealer has replaced several for this recall. My Jeep should be included in the recall and I should be reimbursed for $2954. 79 out of pocket.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local dealer and repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 24v838000 (service brakes, hydraulic). Prior to the appointment, the vehicle had no warning lights or mechanical failures. Following the recall repair, the instrument panel displayed several warning lights, including 4wd and traction control, which were illuminated, and the message “service esc” was displayed. The dealer denied responsibility for the failures. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.
Brakes repetitively seize, causing the wheels to overheat and the vehicle to shake while braking, putting the vehicle at risk of fire, reduced brake performance, and brake failure. Two different dealerships have confirmed from the problem at various points, the brakes are "repaired" and then have the same failure with the same components again. There are no warnings that the brakes are seizing other than the smell of burning brakes, or smoke coming from the wheel.

Vehicle previously brought to dealership for recall and reported issue where vehicle abruptly stops/brakes without cause. Dealer did not resolve. On 3/16/26 vehicle came to a complete stop in roadway, shifted into park, and could not be moved into drive, neutral, or reverse. Driver was stranded in a dangerous situation with infant in vehicle. Dealer unable to inspect for weeks and refused loaner. This presents a serious safety hazard.
I brought my vehicle to the dealership (axis Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram in jersey city, NJ) for open safety recalls. The vehicle has been at the dealership for approximately 3 weeks. I was repeatedly told parts were coming (alternator and brake booster), but the repairs were never completed. I was later told I could pick up the vehicle, but no documentation was provided and I have reason to believe the recall repairs were not performed. This has caused delays, inconvenience, and safety concerns.

On February 28, 2026, while preparing to leave our home with our two children in the vehicle, we experienced a critical vehicle malfunction. Upon attempting to start the car, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, including transmission error, “service needed,” and “automatic emergency braking system needs service. ” the battery warning light was also on. The vehicle would not start initially. After eventually starting the car, we temporarily placed it in neutral and pushed it out of the garage, during which the brakes functioned normally. The vehicle was briefly driven and appeared operational, but due to ongoing safety concerns and multiple recalls, we parked it at the top of our driveway. On the following day, the vehicle would not start again. We arranged for it to be towed to the dealership. On March 2, 2026, when the tow truck arrived, the car’s position prevented loading onto the truck. Multiple jump-start attempts failed initially, then briefly started the vehicle, but it immediately shut off again. We placed the vehicle in neutral using the manual override and tested the brakes, which initially showed stiffness but were operational. While attempting to move the vehicle to allow tow truck access, the brakes suddenly failed. Despite pressing the brake pedal fully and brake lights being illuminated, the vehicle did not stop and rolled uncontrollably into our garage. Consequences: •garage property damage: approximately $11,000 •personal injury: my father-in-law fell while the vehicle rolled out of control •vehicle remains at dealership with an open case, but the situation remains unresolved safety concern: this incident raises serious safety concerns regarding the reliability of the braking system and vehicle electronics. The vehicle became uncontrollable while brakes were applied, posing a direct risk of injury or death to occupants and others. We fear that similar failures could occur under normal driving conditions, including highway speeds.
The vehicle has now experienced two complete electronic system failures while driving at approximately 45 miles per hour. During both events, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, and I lost power steering and brake assist. The engine remained running during the failure, but vehicle control systems were disabled. The first repair was documented as a disconnected electrical component, but the same full failure has occurred again. I consider this a serious safety defect, and I do not feel safe operating the vehicle.

While driving down the road on the highway, the hood randomly popped open, engaging the emergency breaking system extremely harshly. Then the vehicle was unable to shift back into gear. Reported problem to dealer and no codes shown for the incident. Jeep (fca/stelantis) potentially had the system like Volkswagen when it knows it took it up to the diagnostic system to not show codes were an injury or something serious could’ve happened. Warning indicator lights, and all kinds of indicators were going off in the vehicle at the time of incident, but not the very next day from the dealership plugged it into the system.
Travelling with my young daughter on the freeway at freeway speeds at 9pm (nighttime). The entire vehicle just shut down. Everything - completely dark. Steering went out. Brakes went out. I had to get the car to basically drift to a shoulder and slow down gradually in a spot where we would be safely out of the way of traffic. Again no brakes or steering and completely dead. Hazzard lights would not work. I had to get the car towed and get my daughter and all of our stuff out of the car on the freeway at night in the complete dark. Scary stuff. It's an expensive car and 2022 is the first model year of the grand wagoneer. I suspect based on my experience with this car that this model year will have these types of problems going forward. The car has had electrical issues from day 1 and its unsurprising this happened. What is surprising is just how dangerous the situation was when you were in it. It was a shocking experience.

The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed while slowing down; however, the rpm elevated to 5,500 rpm. The contact stated that excessive force was needed to depress the brake pedal. The vehicle was stopped, turned off, restarted, and operated normally. Additionally, the remote start feature was not operating properly. After remote starting the vehicle, the brake pedal was difficult to depress. The contact also stated that a phone call was ringing through the radio even though the phone was not in use. The contact researched online and believed that the vehicle had been hacked. The local dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be hacked. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
I am reporting a safety-related issue involving a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee summit 5. 7 hemi. Within days of purchase, the vehicle experienced transmission slipping and delayed shifting, as well as braking issues. These conditions affected drivability and raised safety concerns during normal operation. An independent mechanic found burnt transmission fluid, indicating that the transmission condition likely existed prior to purchase. Although a fluid change provided limited, temporary improvement, delayed shifting continues to occur. Because the transmission behavior and braking issues can affect the safe operation of the vehicle, I am submitting this report so the issue can be documented and evaluated for potential safety trends. This report is being submitted for safety tracking purposes.

I had just got in and started my Jeep and noticed the abs light and brake light was on, so I went straight to the dealer and the abs had an internal failure and has to be replaced.
I would like to file a complaint against Jeep. I drive a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe with 16,000 miles. While driving to the store, the electronic parking brake engaged while driving. This caused braking system damage. Jeep / manufacturer are refusing to reimburse me. The total cost was: $9,129. 26. This effected the actuators, brake calipers, rear rotors, and brake pads. This is not normal wear and tear, however a safety-related defect.

Screens switches to italian, also screens freeze or go blank, front collision warning (fcw) light illuminates and can't be turned off. Bluetooth randomly disconnects, auto door locks don't engage; paddle shifters for manual gear selection cease functioning, pedestrian avoidance, automatic emergency braking, and high-beam assist stop working; memory seats unexpectedly adjust while driving. I have to bring the car to the dealer to fix this, this happens every 14 days or so.
The anti-lock braking system and the electronic traction control system are both failing. There were previous recalls on both systems that say they have been repaired, but the lights for both are constantly on. The brakes do not work fully, and it has caused me to slide down the street from my workplace. The electronic traction control system not working has caused it so that my four-wheel drive does not work, and I have gotten stuck in the snow multiple times. The car has been inspected by a repair technician. The warning lights came on right as the problem was happening.

My 2017 Jeep cherokee rolled away three times in one day while in park with the electric parking brake engaged. My driveway has no flat area and slopes toward a public road, creating a serious hazard for my family and traffic. The rollaways occurred suddenly with no warning lights. I had to park the Jeep sideways in a snowbank for two weeks to prevent further rollaways, creating added risks for my family in winter conditions. The vehicle remains at the dealership. During the first two days of the evaluation, the dealer confirmed brake shoe thickness (4mm), verified the epb software was current, and found no diagnostic codes. They could not recreate the rollaway or identify a cause. No mechanical or electronic faults were found. Fca communication has been inconsistent. I experienced dropped calls, long holds, contradictory statements, and repeated refusals to provide written documentation of the inspection authorization. Fca said they could not escalate the safety case unless the vehicle was already at the dealership, yet still refused written confirmation of the purpose of the inspection, and I was not willing to bring the vehicle in without documentation. After the evaluation, when I attempted to relay the required findings per the ro instructions, fca informed me the safety case had already been closed, leaving no record of the defect. Fca said only the rental authorization remained open and they could no longer escalate my case. I then had to re-explain the entire rollaway incident. Fca and the dealer now disagree on whether the ro is open or closed, and fca has not explained who is responsible for the ongoing loaner or what the next steps are. The defect remains unresolved and the Jeep is unsafe to operate or park at my home.

I just recently purchased my vehicle through mears Mazda locally in lubbock, TX. At first I did not notice how unsafe it drove due to the recalls. The more I drive the vehicle I notice it feels like there is a resistance in braking or slowing down and getting stuck in certain gears when I am going at a lower speed below 20 mph. It causes concern for me if I am driving in a bigger city or in a traffic jam as this could possibly cause a major accident if a malfunction occurs with the vehicle causing me to cause a multiple vehicle collision on a highway or street. I did ask the dealership prior to signing " are there any issues known with this model type of Jeep or recalls?" they simply stated no. I have told them that since I had just recently signed my paperwork Friday and trading in my prior vehicle would it be possible to reverse everything, he stated no. I do not know the laws in texas or if there is an alternate route I can go about this due to it being a safety issue. When I've contacted Jeep there is yet a remedy to fix this issue.
Wheel speed sensor. Circuit current out of range.
The vehicle in question, has been to a certified Jeep dealer twice, to remedy the problem of locking axles and the center differential. The remedy by crown cdjr in columbus OH, was to replace the control module. Performance cdjr of gorgesville /columbus OH had removed the center differential/transfer case for an inspection and performed updates. None of the aforementioned warranty work, fixed the problem. The vehicle has intermittent, apparent drivetrain differential locking issues, that require an ignition cycle. In addition, the electronic limited slip rear axle appears to lock near 75% in auto and snow mode, which renders the vehicle's operation unsafe. This is especially apparent in 25 to 45 mph turns, sharp turns, as when merging from one intersection to a perpendicular other roadway. The car wants to go straight on slippery/wet pavement. On the 25th of November, a video was taken, by chance, when the vehicle was merging onto easton way from the off ramp of 270 north. The vehicle / car had a near miss of colliding with the concrete barrier of the easton way bridge. The vehicle is, in its current state, unsafe! the drivetrain growls and grinds while driving at low speeds. Performance cdjr of gorgesville columbus OH admitted, on the record , via audio recording, that the vehicle is defective, but eventually, after three weeks in their service department released, the vehicle to my pregnant wife, as operating as intended.
-what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? automatic breaks engaged for no reason. -how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? it could have caused someone to rear end me. -has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no. -has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no -were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no.
In November 2024, I went to get into my 2019 Jeep cherokee (17,000 miles). At that time, numerous lights started flashing on the vehicle dash (start-stop, stability control and check engine). I took the vehical to the nearest Jeep dealership, valor Ford in junction city. They indicated this was a known issue but unresolved by Jeep (received recall notice two weeks later). I was leaving for vacation and would be back in two weeks, rather than leave the car sit at the dealership I offered to take it home and bring it back when I returned. I was told by the technician that was not advisable because my brakes could go out. I of course decided to leave at the dealership. Upon return, they indicated my Jeep could be picked up. My husband spoke with the technician because we had received the recall notice by then and asked how they fixed the problem when Jeep had said there was no solution yet. He, the technician, indicated they had ordered the part which is the same part that went out previously so it wasn't really fixed. We have been waiting over a year, I will only drive locally because I am afraid of the ramifications of this part. Not only is it not fixed but they charged us $1,200 to not fix our car and refused reimbursement. This was our vehicle to travel in our retirement years and for the last year it has been an anchor.
Fca us has failed to make parts available to remedy NHTSA recall 24v-838 in over 12 months.
