Screens switches to italian, also screens freeze or go blank, front collision warning (fcw) light illuminates and can't be turned off. Bluetooth randomly disconnects, auto door locks don't engage; paddle shifters for manual gear selection cease functioning, pedestrian avoidance, automatic emergency braking, and high-beam assist stop working; memory seats unexpectedly adjust while driving. I have to bring the car to the dealer to fix this, this happens every 14 days or so.

My 2017 Jeep cherokee rolled away three times in one day while in park with the electric parking brake engaged. My driveway has no flat area and slopes toward a public road, creating a serious hazard for my family and traffic. The rollaways occurred suddenly with no warning lights. I had to park the Jeep sideways in a snowbank for two weeks to prevent further rollaways, creating added risks for my family in winter conditions. The vehicle remains at the dealership. During the first two days of the evaluation, the dealer confirmed brake shoe thickness (4mm), verified the epb software was current, and found no diagnostic codes. They could not recreate the rollaway or identify a cause. No mechanical or electronic faults were found. Fca communication has been inconsistent. I experienced dropped calls, long holds, contradictory statements, and repeated refusals to provide written documentation of the inspection authorization. Fca said they could not escalate the safety case unless the vehicle was already at the dealership, yet still refused written confirmation of the purpose of the inspection, and I was not willing to bring the vehicle in without documentation. After the evaluation, when I attempted to relay the required findings per the ro instructions, fca informed me the safety case had already been closed, leaving no record of the defect. Fca said only the rental authorization remained open and they could no longer escalate my case. I then had to re-explain the entire rollaway incident. Fca and the dealer now disagree on whether the ro is open or closed, and fca has not explained who is responsible for the ongoing loaner or what the next steps are. The defect remains unresolved and the Jeep is unsafe to operate or park at my home.

I just recently purchased my vehicle through mears Mazda locally in lubbock, TX. At first I did not notice how unsafe it drove due to the recalls. The more I drive the vehicle I notice it feels like there is a resistance in braking or slowing down and getting stuck in certain gears when I am going at a lower speed below 20 mph. It causes concern for me if I am driving in a bigger city or in a traffic jam as this could possibly cause a major accident if a malfunction occurs with the vehicle causing me to cause a multiple vehicle collision on a highway or street. I did ask the dealership prior to signing " are there any issues known with this model type of Jeep or recalls?" they simply stated no. I have told them that since I had just recently signed my paperwork Friday and trading in my prior vehicle would it be possible to reverse everything, he stated no. I do not know the laws in texas or if there is an alternate route I can go about this due to it being a safety issue. When I've contacted Jeep there is yet a remedy to fix this issue.

The vehicle in question, has been to a certified Jeep dealer twice, to remedy the problem of locking axles and the center differential. The remedy by crown cdjr in columbus OH, was to replace the control module. Performance cdjr of gorgesville /columbus OH had removed the center differential/transfer case for an inspection and performed updates. None of the aforementioned warranty work, fixed the problem. The vehicle has intermittent, apparent drivetrain differential locking issues, that require an ignition cycle. In addition, the electronic limited slip rear axle appears to lock near 75% in auto and snow mode, which renders the vehicle's operation unsafe. This is especially apparent in 25 to 45 mph turns, sharp turns, as when merging from one intersection to a perpendicular other roadway. The car wants to go straight on slippery/wet pavement. On the 25th of November, a video was taken, by chance, when the vehicle was merging onto easton way from the off ramp of 270 north. The vehicle / car had a near miss of colliding with the concrete barrier of the easton way bridge. The vehicle is, in its current state, unsafe! the drivetrain growls and grinds while driving at low speeds. Performance cdjr of gorgesville columbus OH admitted, on the record , via audio recording, that the vehicle is defective, but eventually, after three weeks in their service department released, the vehicle to my pregnant wife, as operating as intended.

In November 2024, I went to get into my 2019 Jeep cherokee (17,000 miles). At that time, numerous lights started flashing on the vehicle dash (start-stop, stability control and check engine). I took the vehical to the nearest Jeep dealership, valor Ford in junction city. They indicated this was a known issue but unresolved by Jeep (received recall notice two weeks later). I was leaving for vacation and would be back in two weeks, rather than leave the car sit at the dealership I offered to take it home and bring it back when I returned. I was told by the technician that was not advisable because my brakes could go out. I of course decided to leave at the dealership. Upon return, they indicated my Jeep could be picked up. My husband spoke with the technician because we had received the recall notice by then and asked how they fixed the problem when Jeep had said there was no solution yet. He, the technician, indicated they had ordered the part which is the same part that went out previously so it wasn't really fixed. We have been waiting over a year, I will only drive locally because I am afraid of the ramifications of this part. Not only is it not fixed but they charged us $1,200 to not fix our car and refused reimbursement. This was our vehicle to travel in our retirement years and for the last year it has been an anchor.
Fca us has failed to make parts available to remedy NHTSA recall 24v-838 in over 12 months.
I am filing this complaint against Chrysler (stellantis n. V. ) concerning an unresolved factory recall #94b affecting my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This recall has been active since September 2024, and as of October 31, 2025, no manufacturer-provided repair or remedy is available. As a result, my vehicle has now failed the pennsylvania state inspection due to a malfunctioning abs—a defect directly covered by the factory recall. After the inspection failure, I took the vehicle to an authorized Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/ram dealership in pennsylvania, where I was informed that the necessary parts and repair instructions are still unavailable from the manufacturer, and therefore, the recall repair cannot be completed. I have made two prior attempts to resolve this directly with Chrysler’s customer care department: case #91837321 – initial recall complaint case #91655604 – follow-up complaint regarding delay in remedy availability despite these efforts, there has been no progress and no communication from Chrysler outlining when or how the repair will be available. This has left me without a drivable vehicle that cannot legally pass state inspection.
A vehicle that is able to start and shift out of park without depressing the brake pedal can result in unintended vehicle movement which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle. There has been a recall out for over an year yet no available solution.

Driving on freeway and service 4wd light came on. Upon reaching destination, parking brake automatically engaged for unknown reason.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received information on NHTSA campaign number: 24v838000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the check engine and brake warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The contact called the local dealer and scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
From vehicle start, traveled approximately 1. 5 miles at top speed of approximately 25mph, applied brakes and came to a complete stop at stop sign to make left hand turn. A couple brake pumps to inch closer to ensure all clear. Once clear and removed foot from brake and attempted to accelerate into left hand turn vehicle accelerated approximately a 2-4 feet while in drive, auto park and emergency brakes abruptly engaged. Disabling the vehicle from movement, and locking gear knob from movement. Removed emergency brake and attempted to return car in drive with foot applied to brake, gear knob was still locked and would not engage. Turned off car and turned back on and gear engaged as normal. All of this took place while in oncoming traffic lane. Thankfully the oncoming traffic stopped and waited for me to move my vehicle. This could have been a critical accident. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? brakes locked up/auto parking brake engaged, yes available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? yes, thankfully oncoming traffic stopped. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? awaiting appointment date. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? awaiting appointment date. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes, I was in a state of panic and could only remember seeing something about the parking brake engagement.
While driving on a local neighborhood street at approximately 38 miles per hour, ( cruise control possibly engaged) , all the lights on my dashboard suddenly illuminated. A messages appeared stating that service was required for every guidance and braking system. At that moment I became concerned, so I attempted to use the brake. Despite pressing the brake pedal as hard as I could, the car did not slow down. I cannot remember if I downshifted using the paddle shifters on the steering wheel, but I was able to coast to a manageable speed and pull into a parking lot. I then turned the vehicle off and on again, but all the warning lights remained on the dashboard. After waiting for about five minutes, the vehicle was restarted, and this time none of the warning lights were on. Since I was very close to home, I drove the rest of the way very slowly. Later, I searched online and discovered that other people have experienced this same problem. Some of the information I read suggested that water can get into a component, and it had been raining on the day of the incident and the day before. My primary safety concern is what would have happened if I had been approaching a stoplight or driving on a freeway where I needed to stop suddenly. I am confident that I would not have been able to stop in time to avoid a crash. It is frightening to think of what could happen if a child were to run into the street and this happening. I immediately made an appointment with my local Jeep dealership. The dealer has since driven the vehicle 98 miles but has not yet been able to replicate the issue.
Subject: safety defect report – failure of telematics module (tcu) causing loss of 9-1-1 emergency function, electrical system malfunctions, and potential brake booster recall defect (2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee) dear NHTSA, I am submitting this complaint because my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited is experiencing multiple safety-related failures that I believe are part of a wider defect pattern affecting this model year. Several of these issues involve systems that are critical for emergency safety, braking, and vehicle control. Dear NHTSA, I am submitting this complaint because my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited is experiencing multiple safety-related failures that I believe are part of a wider defect pattern affecting this model year. Several of these issues involve systems that are critical for emergency safety, braking, and vehicle control. ? 1. Telematics control unit (tcu) failure causing loss of 9-1-1/sos emergency function my Jeep is displaying repeated “service emergency vehicle phone” errors and the sos/911 emergency button no longer functions. This is a major safety concern, especially in the event of an accident or breakdown. The tcu failure also causes: •uconnect 8. 4 system not booting •hvac controls becoming non-functional or unsafe (blowing incorrect temperatures, failing to defrost, turning off unexpectedly) •random system resets •loss of ability to control climate during driving (creating visibility issues in cold/wet weather) these issues align with widespread failures of the uconnect 8. 4 / tcu hardware on 2013–2015 Grand Cherokees, which were not included in a recall despite many vehicles exhibiting the same dangerous symptoms. ? 2. Tcu-related canbus interference causing transmission and drivability safety issues when the tcu fails, the vehicle experiences: •transmission communication errors •vehicle entering limp mode unexpectedly •“service transmission” and “press brake to shift” warnings •delayed or unpredictable shi.

This issue happened 3 times in a matter of 2 months. All 3 happened in 3 different intersections. While turning left in the intersection (oncoming traffic also turning left) the vehicle jerks to a full stop in the middle of the intersection with a "crash detected" message flashing on the dashboard screen. The vehicle stayed in drive and continued to drive after full stop the first 2 incidents. On the 3rd incident, the vehicle stopped completely, and would not continue to drive. The vehicle had to be put into park (even though it said it was in drive but did not drive) and put into drive again to continue moving. Other vehicles driving behind the grand wagoneer were required to slam on brakes to prevent impact of the grand wagoneer and had to wait for the grand wagoneer to begin driving again. Unable to drive this vehicle due to safety issues. The vehicle is currently in the shop under investigation.
On 2 ocassions the vehicle failed to execute a stop. The first was going down a mild hill at 20 mpg; I applied the brakes and the car started to slow and then the brakes felt like there was a shudder and released, and then engaged again and the car finally did stop. That same day on flat ground the same thing repeated. A second brake problem has occurred multiple times; likely 50 - 60 times. When braking and the car downshifts, the vehicle surges forward before slowing again, esp from 4th down to 3rd, of 3rd down to 2nd gear and 2nd to 1st. I have taken this to reed Jeep in my hometown of kansas city and not problem was identified. The car has been driven by others who also felt the same. These issues can put others at risk because they have occured when others are driving and they could injure a pedstrian or cause an mva when the car does not stop. I have ceased driving the vehicle because of this and the battery fire concern and the engine failure from sand concern.
