Electronic stability and 4wd lights came on. Brought to dealership and the ptu is no longer working. My car is vibrating and hesitating when accelerating. Jeep dealer told me it’s common to have to replace these units however they are nationally back ordered. My car doesn’t even have 60k miles on it and even if I want to fix my car so it’s safe I can’t because the parts are backordered leaving me with no other choice but to drive for months months unsafely without a properly functioning ptu.

Last year while driving my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the headrest collision system went off for no reason, hitting me in the back of the head. Luckily I did not lose control of the vehicle and there was no collision or injury to myself. It was very scary, but I maintained control of the vehicle. I went to my local Jeep dealer pembroke pines Jeep auto nation at 13601pines blvd suite a pembroke pines, FL 33027. They told me it was a known issue and the service person made an appointment for me later that week , at which they replaced the headrest at no cost to me under a recall service bulletin issued by Jeep/stellantis. The same thing happened last week while driving, when the passenger side headrest activated for no reason, this time striking my wife in the head. I went back to the same dealership. They told me that this headrest is no longer covered under the warranty which has now expired in April of 2025. And would cost $800 to repair. They told me to call stellantis and see if they would cover the repair. I went home and called stellantis, whose customer service agent advised me that he was going to escalate my concern to his supervisor. I got a call today and they told me that my car is not covered by any warranty and that I would be responsible for the repair. My car VIN number does not fall under the recall which has expired. He also told me that stellantis is not responsible for the repair and he should ask the dealer to see if they would possibly split the cost of the repair with me. This could of been a very serious situation, had I lost control of the vehicle as a driver. I looked further online and in Jeep owners club forums and this seems to be a common problem with Jeeps and Dodge durangos, both owned by stellantis. This is a clear and dangerous safety issue!.

Driver side headrest deployed on its own while parked. No warning, no messages, no failures with the vehicle.
I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the safety of my Jeep. My vehicle has been to the Jeep dealership approximately five times for the recurring service hybrid system error. Most recently, in August 2025, I received this error again along with a check engine light. Each time this error occurs, I notice that my Jeep drives differently, which raises concerns about its reliability and safety. At present, my Jeep has been at the dealership for approximately 25 days. The dealership has indicated that the issue is related to the 73c code. Despite repeated visits, the problem has not been permanently resolved. I am very concerned about my own safety, as well as the safety of others on the road, particularly because I have been informed that my Jeep is part of the 1% recall group. The ongoing malfunction makes me uneasy about driving the vehicle, and I strongly believe this presents a potential hazard. I respectfully request urgent attention to this matter and a clear resolution to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.

The entire Jeep failed. Every light, warning, service, etc came up when cranking, and then it went dead. Now, it will not crank at all. Additionally, the trunk will not open and no power pops up on dashboard or display. This is put my family at risk due to the vehicle being parked next to my home with a possible shortage. No one has confirmed or checked, due to it being a Saturday. No warning was given prior.

I purchased a used 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland. The seller claimed the mileage was around 76,800 at the time of sale. After the purchase, a vehicle history report (carfax/autocheck) showed that the actual mileage was approximately 223,000. This means the odometer reading was rolled back or misrepresented. The title paperwork shows a false mileage disclosure. This problem puts consumers at risk because the true condition of the vehicle is hidden, making it unsafe to rely on maintenance records or expected performance. While driving, vehicle begins shifting down and jerking to stop. Emergency brake engages while driving.
The headrests on both my drivers and passenger side popped out. This seems to be a reoccuring issue with Jeeps and it happened while I was driving. The airbags have not been deployed and I was not in an accident. They will not go back in and Jeep wants $750 to replace each as they are not covered under a recall.
Vehicle was parked and unoccupied and it exploded.
Component/system involved: active head restraint (headrest) – deployed without cause. The component is available for inspection upon request. I also have photos documenting the incident. Description of incident: on August 6, 2025, at approximately 5:40 pm, while driving home from work at around 35 mph, the driver-side headrest deployed suddenly and forcefully, striking the back of my head. There was no sudden braking, no impact, and no vehicle in front of me. The deployment was completely unprovoked and occurred under normal driving conditions. Safety risk: this unexpected deployment posed a serious safety risk. It could have caused me to lose control of the vehicle and potentially crash. I am currently experiencing neck and upper back pain as a result. Reproducibility: the issue has not yet been inspected or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, as it occurred just last night. Inspection: the vehicle and the headrest component have not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Warning signs: there were no warning lamps, messages, or any other symptoms prior to the failure. The deployment occurred without any indication or cause.
Delamination of infotainment system has occurred, causing a safety hazard if (or when) needing to use the sos calling, hands free communication, or heads up navigation system. This is a manufacturers defect that may cause safety to myself or others due to distracting the driver by turning on and off seat warmers, adjusting climate control, randomly calling people and makes the operation of utilizing sos features impossible. The component has not been inspected, but seems like a common occurrence amongst these this model year. No warning lamps or messages appeared and I was taken off guard when my infotainment system appeared to have a life of its own on the interstate.
Car completely shut off while saying the electrical hybrid system needed to be serviced. Car turned back on and light was off. Check engine light going on and off as well. When going lower speeds the cars rpms rev all the way up, almost to the red, and while your pressing the gas doesn’t move but then jerks and goes forward. Your head slams into the seat and it’s extremely unsafe especially if you are in stop and go traffic. The car has been spitting and sputtering. Brought it to the dealership I just purchased it from, I’ve only made one payment. They stated that Chrysler is aware of the problem but that there is no solution as of right now. Extremely unsafe to drive and do not feel safe with my daughter in the car with the car jerking forward and being delayed with the gas and rpms increasing.
I am filing a complaint regarding a serious and widespread defect in the uconnect 8. 4 infotainment system installed in my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited and many other fca/stellantis vehicles. The screen has developed a delamination issue that worsens over time. Symptoms include glue dripping from the edges of the screen, “ghost taps” where the system responds without being touched, and unresponsive or inaccurate touch inputs. This is not a cosmetic defect. The infotainment system controls multiple functions beyond entertainment, including navigation, bluetooth phone connectivity, climate control, backup camera, and access to vehicle settings. Malfunctions cause driver distraction and interfere with safe vehicle operation, which could easily lead to an accident. When I contacted Jeep/Chrysler customer care, I was informed this is a known issue. My research confirmed that fca/stellantis has issued an internal service bulletin acknowledging the defect, but they refuse to issue a formal recall. This appears to be a deliberate decision to avoid the significant cost of replacing defective units across multiple models, leaving many unsafe vehicles on the road. This problem is widespread and well-documented among owners. It is unacceptable that stellantis treats it only as a service bulletin issue when the defect directly affects safety. Drivers must be able to rely on the infotainment system to respond correctly, especially since it integrates with systems used while driving. A delaminated screen dripping glue and producing ghost inputs is a hazard, not a minor inconvenience. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this defect and require fca/stellantis to take responsibility through a formal recall and replacement program to protect the safety of drivers, passengers, and the public.

Carbon fiber door panels completely fell off and driver rear end safety headrest went off while driving and gave me a minor blast on back off my head… I was not in a rear end collision!.
The uconnect touchscreen had bubbling in upper left corner within the first year of being brand new. I didn't know at that time that it would lead to complete failure of the uconnect system which includes: the handsfree safety controls on steering wheel not functioning so no handsfree phone calls or messaging etc, black and unresponsive touchscreen, no navigation because screen and sound doesn't work, no function in usb ports connected to uconnect system, no audible alerts (or any sounds) from speakers for collision warning or radio etc just zero sounds, no back up camera because the screen doesn't work, no uconnectivity from mirror in case of collision. Oh and the mysterious globs of clear adhesive glue dripping below the screen more specifically dripping below the control knobs that are below the screen right into my center compartment where the usb ports are located! this is a known issue caused by a manufacturing defect with the glue used by Jeep to bond the layers of the screen. It should absolutely be a recall covered by Jeep! my warranty has expired so no luck for me unless uconnect covers it. Fingers. Crossed on that. I checked fuses all good, did a soft reset that brought back charging ability in usb ports and the screen turned a dark blue instead of black but wtill no function, and did a hard reset by disconnecting my battery cable for 1/2 hr. Nothing worked. I was told it would cost over $2000 not including labor if the uconnect system needs to be replaced. My Jeep only has 12500 miles on it. Its keep in a carport with a cover and very well maintanined. This is absolutley a safety issue! so dissapointed as this will potentially be the 2nd expensive issue with my Jeep coming out of the pocket with such low mileage. Still waiting on reimbursment from last recall 94b which still has no remedy available and therefore cant get approved for reimbursment. That was over $3k to fix! please take better care of your loyal customers Jeep!.
Driver side headrest deployed while parked overnight in my driveway. It is available for inspection. I was not in the car so no risk to myself or others. I have not yet called my dealership. No inspections have been made as yet.
Check engine light came on. Took my Jeep in and was told it was a software issue and not safe to drive. Chrysler will not let the service department release me my car until it is updated and fixed, which has no time line currently.
Safety mechanism on head rests on both driver and passenger seat both have deployed without an accident happening.
Cam shaft and yes it is available to be looked at. The vehicle was misdiagnosed multiple times and sent back home with the same error code while fixing other items that were not the root cause of the issue. The engine light was on with the misfire code when I brought it in and was repeatedly sent home and within 20 miles the same code returned.
Emergency electric brake system has set up a number of times on its own always when it was parked. I was towing the car behind a motorhome ,it is 2024 Grand Cherokee Jeep summit with approximately 6600 miles on it ,the electric emergency break system set up going down the road at 50 mile an hour behind the motorhome. The motorhome has 650 hp engine. I didn’t even feel the brakes set up on the car. I saw a lot of smoke behind the motorhome . I pulled over and it turned out the electric brake set and I couldn’t get it to release. I called the dealer where I bought it to see if they could tell me how to release it. They referred me to Jeep, I thought sure that they’d have someone but they referred me to a Jeep dealer in santa fe, new mexico the dealership had a tow CO haul it to the dealership and told me tow ins were 3 to 4 weeks out before they could get in and look at them . After a month and they had not looked at it I had it hauled to mike shaw Jeep where I bought it. My concern is that had I been driving that car on interstate highways in colorado 75 mph or states where it’s 85 miles an hour and the brake set up I’m going to be in the ditch or in the front of another vehicle killing my self and family or someone else family. This Jeep needs to be taken off the road before someone is killed. I refuse to drive it. Or let a family member drive it. Have had no satisfaction from Jeep dealers. I had to have a car to drive so I had to spend another $60,000 for a car. .

My 2023 Jeep gc overland 4xe was at the Jeep service center for the same issue in a week. I get a service throttle control warning, cel, then every warning light on the dashboard lit up. It happened on my driveway the other day and I would not drive. I had Jeep roadside tow it to a Jeep service center. On 7/9/2025 I picked up the Jeep. Service tec said no open recalls, no software updates and the throttle body module was reprogrammed. A 14-mile test drive was done and the codes did not return. Shortly after pickup, while driving at 65 mph on the thruway, I got the same error message, service throttle control along with a check engine light and all warning lights again lit up. The Jeep displayed a reduced power warning, and many other warning but I didn’t have time to look at the dashboard. The vehicle slowed to a crawl in limp mode at 23 mph, the steering became very heavy and slow to respond. I was able to quickly move over to the shoulder, and I was almost rear ended by a tracker trailer. I got off the thruway, shut the engine off, then back on and was able to get full power back. I immediately drove it to the dealership service center. This is not safe vehicle to be in and there are many other reports of this happening.
System said car will shut off soon. All system lights started blinking and the car turned off. Car would not restart and would not go into neutral.

Radio camera is feeezing when in reverse and saftey isn’t working … radio randomly shuts off and turns on … won’t allow any functions to work when it’s frozen including camera and backup safety assist.
The air conditioner compressor blew at 58,000 miles. No certified Jeep dealership in the area had the equipment necessary to replace it. I went to an autobody shop with that capability who said at that mileage this should not have happened in a well maintained car. It is $3000 to repair. This happened mid summer with high heat temperatures and no cold air. This put me at risk for hyperthermia as well as my dog. Oliverian auto in pike nh confirmed the issue. No warnings from the car, just no cold air, only hot air. First happened in July of this year.
The screen for the navigation, radio, climate control etc is delaminating and now not working properly. Also it is getting difficult to see the screen while driving. Car is available for inspection. And no warning…it started to delaminate slowly and now it has begun to delaminate spread quickly.

From the first weeks, it has displayed severe, life-threatening defects that make it unsafe and undriveable. Despite presenting it to seven authorized Jeep service stations and contacting both the dealership and Jeep/stellantis repeatedly, no effective repair, replacement, or buyback has been provided. The SUV has just 1,000 miles yet has been out of service for over two years, resulting in substantial financial loss and hardship. Safety defects hvac/defrost failure: after 20–30 miles, the a/c stops cooling and blows only hot air. The blower often shuts off completely, fogging the windshield and reducing visibility to zero. Jeep has acknowledged this defect under NHTSA recall 24v111 (manufacturer code 04b), but no remedy has been made available. Hud mirror glare: the head-up display mirror is misaligned and reflects light from headlights, streetlights, and sunlight across the windshield, producing blinding glare and making safe driving impossible. Failed remedy attempts seven Jeep service centers refused long test drives, logging less than 5 miles even though the hvac issue occurs after 30–50 miles. Route 18 staff admitted seeing the hud glare but told me to “tint the windshield. ” management was dismissive, and Jeep/stellantis corporate has ignored all follow-ups for over two years. Impact and remedy requested I have paid tens of thousands in loans, insurance, towing, storage, and rentals for a vehicle I cannot safely drive. I request an immediate buyback or full refund, or replacement with a safe, defect-free vehicle, plus reimbursement of all related costs. This Jeep is unsafe and abandoned by dealer and manufacturer. We were just driving on the road when the passenger head rest deployed forward. We were not hit or parked anywhere, just normal driving through town. This sent a slight tingling sensation around back of neck and spine, now just sore later in the day.
My husband was driving down a state road when the car shut down. He started the SUV back on & we where fine. 2nd time I was driving on the interstate [xxx] ) when the car shut off & the dashboard displayed "shift to park". I kept control of the car put the emergency lights on & got of the way. Waited a few minutes & the SUV started back took me home the next day I took it to the dealership they replaced the transmission. I got the car back Friday [xxx] drove it home & on Tuesday [xxx] put 93% gas in the car was on my way back on [xxx] . Stopped at a light with my grandson in the car & the car started to shake a little shut off again the dash indicated "shift to park" I turned the car on & off a few times finally after about 5 mins it started & I was on to my destination. At my destination I turned the car on 3 times. Started with out a problem. Got on the road headed back home. At the same spot, the car shut down again for the 3rd time. Dash again stating I need to "shift to park". This is the very dangerous. I had the car towed to the Jeep dealership & there it is waiting on a diagnosis as to what is wrong with my beautiful 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Please find a way to fix this issue. The car has a strange thump when driving around 70-75. This is always and the dealer says it’s normal, which is not true! this weird thump is now happening at lower speeds and also a weird shuddering at speeds around 25-40. Shudders are more random also starting at about 8-10,000 miles randomly while driving highway speeds 70-75 the vehicle shudders /vibrates for about 20 seconds and then stops. I do not use lane assist so it’s not that. It feels like when you run over the rumble sticks on the highway but amplified x20. Also since almost purchase I have had several alignments because the car continuously pulls to the left. In florida the roads crown to the right for rain water run off. If anything the car should pull to the right but it pulls to the left consistently even right after an alignment. Other complaints I’ve made are how unstable and wobbly it drives and this has gotten significantly worse to the point that the ability to maintain control of it on the highway is not pleasant and feels very unsafe any cat that randomly shudders at highway speeds is not safe and needs to be fixed. However,14 service trips and several manufacturer complaints and still nothing… they promise things and give it a car wash instead. They are not saying much about their own product to tell me it’s running as designed. I’m tired of hearing I can’t duplicate it. Absurd excuse. At this point it’s been very scary at times… so I’m selective with where I use my vehicle. So I’ve been renting when I need to go on the highway. This is costly but at least safer for myself and others. I wish they would just fix the car.
Entertainment screen is delaminating. Other VIN’s have this issue and a recall. Jeep will not acknowledge that recall for this VIN.
