Defrost not working (hvac).

The front passenger seat active head restraint activated while driving on a smooth, rural road, with no traffic, and no impact with anything. My wife was in the passenger seat and was forcefully hit when the headrest deployed. There were no warning lights and no issues which would have warned us of this deployment. The vehicle has been maintained by the dealership since new. I have an appointment with the dealership for the warranty repair. On June 12 2025.

Pass. Side active head restraint deployed unexpectedly. Dealer replaced part under “warranty extension x88”. When I contacted Jeep manufacturer: 1-800-334-9200, I was told the manufacturer will not replace the driver side head restraint until it self deployed! an accident waiting to happen! my wife and I travel a lot, pulling a travel trailer, so I now have a fear that this active head restraint will also self-deploy. Shame on the manufacturer. I won’t be considered an “acceptable risk”. Please help me convince the manufacturer to stand by their warranty. Thank you.

I was stopped in traffic at approximately 16:00 on Tuesday 5/27/2025. All of the sudden the drivers side headrest deployed with force, hitting me in the back of my head and pushing my head and neck forward. Since the incident I am experiencing pain in my neck.

While driving I received a pop-up message on the head unit advertising sirius xm. I had to clear this pop-up message while driving in order to continue using my map. I need to be very clear that I was driving at speed with a navigation route set and the map was obstructed by an advertisement that I had to touch the screen with one hand left on the wheel to click a pop-up ad. This was not a message from any attached devices. This was a system message from the infotainment unit.

Passenger side active headrest activated for no apparent reason. There was no warning for this. When I contacted Jeep dealer I was told that they were “aware” of this, but it wasn’t a recall item. ??.

The power lift gate automatically open, and will not close with the key fob, or any of the buttons inside the vehicle.

Vehicle had complete system shut down while driving. Multiple warning lights came on and vehicle went completely dead. I could have been severely injured or killed if I had been on a highway or if other cars had been behind me. Jeep stated that it was an airbag sensor. Upon picking up from dealership (may 30) warning light came on stating "service vehicle electric hybrid system". Jeep states this is a software issue with no known fix and that engineering has been notified of problem. Since that time the air conditioning stopped working and warning light continues to come on. Vehicle has been left at dealership as not confident in safety of vehicle.

I was driving down the highway and the sunroof just busted out of nowhere. There wasn’t any debris or anything around.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 4xe lost power while I was going 65 miles per hour on the freeway. I had great difficulty getting to the side of the freeway nearly being struck by other drivers. I had no power steering and no way to put my hazard lights on when the car lost power. The Jeep is still not drivable at this time and is at the dealership.

My car was showing a "service hybrid system" warning light in the months of April and may 2025 intermittantly along with a slight loss of power. I took it to the dealership and was told its a software issue but it's fine. Stellantis is aware of this issue but there is no fix. I brought it back a week later with the same concerns and reading the document the dealership gave me - the 95b recall fix apparently crashed communication modules with my orc. I expressed safety concerns. The dealership once again cleared codes and told me it was safe to drive. One week later on may 8, 2025, I was driving home from work. Without warning, the car locked up and went limp in the middle of the road. I went from 35mph to 0mph without seconds. I luckily was not rear ended. The dealership opened up another case with star. I have since gotten rid of the car due to continuous recalls and issues. I did not feel safe in this car and I feared for myself as well as others on the road. I am only taking the time to report this because there is no fix, my dealership repeadily gave the car back to me (in the notes, it was to be returned to me on 5/12 with no fix), and others are having the same issue.

My Jeep is a 2024, with just about 12,000 miles. On Monday, may 5, 2025. My air conditioner stopped working. It was only blowing out warm air. Now I’m told there’s some kind of ac leak and it will take 2-5 days for parks and a full day to repair. After reading reviews. This is a known issue with 2022 Jeeps. This needs to be an issue with 2024. This is my 3rd Jeep and I’ve never had issues like this.

Monday 4/28, as I was driving at approx. 35-38 mph the vehicle came to an abrupt and hard stop, like someone just pounded on the brakes, the engine ceased running. A large red wrench looking icon and something about the battery flashed very quickly on the screen. After a matter of time (please note this was very frightening,, and am unsure of the elapsed time) the car restarted and I continued very slowly to a corner where I could pull off the road and contact the dealership. At the rate of speed I was traveling I was forcefully slammed into the steering wheel, there were cars behind me and in the adjacent lane. My dog in the rear compartment and in her kennel was also forcefully thrown. This vehicle has had on going battery issues and many others as well. This is not the first report I have filed. Vehicle has been at the dealership for one week, I had to insist upon a loaner which they could not provide. Jeep has a program for a comparable vehicle which they set up and which has not provided a comparable auto. I have had no word from the dealership as to repair and issue found. The ongoing safety issues with this vehicle and it's battery system are totoally unacceptable for me. The Jeep has spent 3. 5 months from 10/14-mid 01/15 parked due to fire or explosion possibility. It has been in the shop repeatedly for up to two weeks at a time with heating and cooling issues. This latest is just another in a long stream of problems unaddressed proprerly by the Jeep corporation. As the vehicle is still in the shop at the dealership I have no items to download at this time.

I was changing my right rear tire due to a nail on a slight slope in my driveway and I had a roll away incident. The top of my driveway is a slight slope and then changes to fairly steep. My vehicle rolled off of my jack and jack stand and continued into the street. Fortunately there was no damage other than extreme stress.

The screen has delaminated and is not functional. If on while driving it goes haywire and has to be turned off. This effects hands free, gps, climate control, etc. This is a known issue with these Jeeps but has not merited a recall as of yet. It needs to be recalled.

I am reporting repeated safety-critical failures with my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee that have rendered the vehicle unreliable, dangerous, and now inoperable. I believe this vehicle suffers from a systemic electrical defect related to the totally integrated power module (tipm)—a well-documented issue across Jeep models that causes starting failures, loss of power, and unpredictable behavior of vehicle systems. On [xxx], my vehicle failed to start. The starter clicks but does not engage. These symptoms align with known tipm-related failures. Despite this, the authorized dealership (madison Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram) has refused to test the tipm, insisting on replacing the starter without confirming the root electrical issue. This places consumers at risk of breakdowns without warning and reflects a pattern of ignoring known defects. My vehicle also has a history of major mechanical failures: water pump, thermostat, and oil pressure unit replaced (Feb 2024) rack and pinion, control arm, wheel hub replaced (Jul 2024) rear brake caliper seized (Aug 2024) radiator failure (Apr 2025) the vehicle remains with the dealership since 4/30/25. As of 5/14/25, I have received no update or repair. My case with stellantis (case [xxx]) has been met with repeated communication failures. I missed one call from the case manager on 5/8 and immediately returned it—leaving three voicemails over two business days and receiving no response. I was promised a callback by 5/13 and still have not heard back. These issues raise serious concerns regarding the safety and reliability of this vehicle. I am requesting the NHTSA investigate potential tipm-related electrical defects and non-compliance with manufacturer responsibility to address safety defects. I do not believe it is safe for my vehicle to be returned to me in its current state, and I urge your agency to consider further action regarding this recurring and widespread defect. I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of significant concern regarding my recent visit to your service center on April 22, 2025, for a scheduled appointment to replace the driver's side rim and two front tires. Upon post-service inspection of my vehicle, I observed that the newly installed front tires were bridgestone, rather than ironman, which are consistent with the original rear tires. It appears that the service department took the liberty of replacing the front tires with more expensive bridgestone models without prior consultation or my explicit approval. After addressing this issue with the service manager, the initial compensation offered was limited to a few complimentary oil changes and tire rotations. Subsequently, the manager contacted me with an offer of one new bridgestone tire for the rear, contingent upon my purchase of the other tire. I declined this offer, having recently invested approximately $4,000 in various services and brake work. In a third communication, the manager proposed to provide new front tires to match the existing rear tires. These fluctuating offers have left me perplexed and frustrated, as I lack both the financial resources and time to engage in such negotiations. I regret to inform you that I find this resolution unsatisfactory, given the unexpected change in tire brand and the associated increase in cost. This situation has caused considerable inconvenience and warrants a more appropriate resolution. Car unexpectedly shifted into neutral without me switching gears while driving.

The abs and traction control lights are on. There is an open recall for this, but according to stellantis, this Jeep is not part of the recall.

From one day to the next the engine is blown. Mechanic says the engine was hot for a while but no light or notices came up until the day of the major issue. I had jsut taken it to get new headlights and tires rotated and no mention of anything off. From oen day to thenext it overheated. I see similar recalls on the same exact Jeep. Make model and year.

Car stalls without warning. Car is able to cruise and brake until I can pull off to the side of the road. Car will restart after turning it off. Speed, time, duration of the drive does not matter. It happened at 40 mph, 60 mph, 80 mph. It happens 5 minutes into a drive or 20 minutes. Took it to the mechanic multiple times, codes do not pop up. Engine light does not come on. Mechanic is unable to find the problem.

- I received a "service hybrid system" light while driving (it only appeared for a split second and went away) and I took it to the dealership for troubleshooting. The dealership found a stored code of b273c-00. They contacted their Jeep engineers who have not been forthcoming as to what the issue is, but said the vehicle is not safe to drive, so I am not allowed to have the vehicle back (the same dealership has a 2nd Grand Cherokee 4xe with the same issue). Both vehicles are currently at the dealership and should be available for inspection. From my online research it seems to be tied to the vehicle's crash sensor and high voltage cable harness. There are also numerous other owners in online forums discussing the same issue with their Jeeps (grand cherokees and wranglers). -as Jeep engineers are not allowing myself or others to drive their vehicle with this code, they obviously consider it a safety issue. The scary thing to me is, that had I not happen to see that quick flash of the "service hybrid light" I would be driving this unsafe vehicle without knowing it, as it did not turn on the check engine light, so I had no idea there was a stored code until the dealer checked it out. That means there are probably thousands of folks driving around at risk without even know there is a safety issue. -this issue has apparently been going on for months, as the other Jeep at my dealership has there for months now.

I started with the 95b recall when car owners were instructed to not plug in their vehicles or park near any other structures for about 4 months until a fix was released. Then my car experienced multiple service hybrid sysytem errors. The car physically shut down on two separate occasions, both while I was transporting my child, putting us at extreme risk for an accident. It has been at the dealership since July 2025 with the mechanic receiving a digital crash code. His attempts to talk with someone at Jeep/stelantis have gone unanswered. The vehicle is currently located at the Jeep dealership in los cabos, baja California sur, mexico and is available for inspection upon request.

While driving at normal speeds the engine and everything turns off without any warning. This makes it difficult to get off the road or highway due to loss of power to steering. This happens randomly but with increasing frequency. The vehicle has been at the Jeep dealership since 12 June 2025 and I'm being told they cannot figure it out. On multiple occasions now, my shifter starts blinking at me and the dash tells me to shift into park and then shift into desired gear. This is quite annoying is baffling and dangerous. Also, on multiple occasions the dash lights up it goes crazy beeping like crazy like it wants me to stop and there’s nothing in front of me for me to need to stop. This could be potentially very dangerous. I see others have had issues like this as well so I think we really need to do something about this for somebody does get hurt cause it locks up it doesn’t let you go anywhere until you put it in park and put it in gear not safe.

The srs airbag light keeps coming up and does not show up as an error when a diagnostic is run on the car and they need to pull tge system apart to figire iut what the issue is. Secondly the capless gas tank nozzle keeps falling off.

The interior wood trim on the driver's side door pealed away and broke. There are other recalls related to the same door trim that is pealing away like x77.

Screen delamination causing phantom touches on the control screen.

The uconnect system on the vehicle has a delamination issue on the screen. I took the vehicle to the authorized dealer and they said it was a known issue. I tried contacting the manufacturer and they offered a 60% cost assistance since the vehicle is out of warranty. I researched the issue on the internet and found multiple people have similar concerns with the uconnect system. Some reported that the screen stops to respond to touch which means a driver can struggle to turn on/off heated or cooled seats, heated steering as there are no physical switches to operate those features, to name a few and can cause distraction while driving. If the seat heat is on and one wants to turn it off once the seat is warm enough, they cannot. My vehicle has delamination on the three sides of the screen. It started on the one corner and gradually spread to the other edges. I can see that one day it will cover the entire screen rendering the system to be unusable.

Rear hatch leaking creating electrical fire hazard potential.

While idling (vehicle running in electric mode) in park, for approximately 10 minutes we attempted to put the car in drive. The vehicle acted as if it needed to be turned on, displaying the message "press brake and push button to start" while also displaying a red battery light. Different warning messages came up showing traffic sign assist unavailable and others. We could not turn the vehicle off even with holding down the start/stop button, were unable to shift the vehicle either. Finally after ten minutes of pressing the start/stop button the vehicle finally shut off and we were able to restart it with no issues. The next week as I was driving, I would randomly get a warning light with a red wrench and a message that said service hybrid system. Both instances have happen two additional times. The vehicle is now sitting at the dealership and they are unable to diagnose the problem. This all has occurred after the 95b recall work was completed. This is a safety issue as the vehicle will not shut off and won't shift. So if the vehicle is parked inside of a garage and idles and then doesn't shut off that will lead to carbon monoxide leaking into the houses. Or being stranded somewhere unable to move your vehicle.
