My Jeep has stalled at least 5 times with the power steering failing. 1) once while at an intersection turning left on a green arrow no steering. 2) traveling about 45 mph and stalled again and no steering. 3) twice going from 55 mph up to a stop sign and the car stalled again no steering. 4) just last Friday, I was driving 55 mph and slowing to make a left turn and again stalled and no power steering. This is getting serious and happens unexpectedly which makes driving dangerous. The stalling is happening more frequently now. I've contacted Jeep and they say a recall has been issued but no fix has taken place and is to be determined with no idea when. The recall was issued late last year. So how long does it take to fix a relay issue? this has gone on far to long and getting scary. Please help me and get some kind of answer from Jeep. Sincerely, terry farber.

While driving at approximately 30 mph, the Jeep suddenly jolted and the engine stalled. I safely pulled to the side of the road, placed the vehicle in park and tried to restart the engine. It immediately started then stalled multiple times before all lights in the Jeep turning on and a message appeared on the dashboard stating that the vehicle was not in park. I double checked and the vehicle was indeed in park. The horn sounded multiple times and the back lift-gate opened on its own. The vehicle was towed to the dealership under extended warranty and it was found that the electric power steering system had shorted and caused the vehicle to be completely disabled electrically. The system was repaired by the dealership. This could have happened in a horrible location with traffic on the interstate and caused a serious accident. The repairs were covered under extended warranty but a power steering failure should not completely shut down a vehicle while driving.

Vehicle engine light came on - rear windshield wiper started even though switch was off, power steering failed and engine shutoff while driving on city street, horn beeping intermittently whether driving or not. Several messages displayed for about 2 seconds -ecm lost communication and other msgs I couldn't get because they only flashed on the screen. Keyfob battery low even though I just put in a new battery.

For the second time in 2 weeks the power steering assist steering failed while driving the vehicle. The instrument cluster gives a "power steering warning" and all hydraulic assistance fails. Within a few minutes of this happening, the engine also gets hot. I live n the texas hill country. This failure results a large increase in steering effort on the local hilly and curved roads and the ability to take evasive maneuvers if some of the many local wild animals cross the road in front of me. It also affects the ability to maneuver in traffic until the vehicle is brought to a stop. The problem is intermittent and the dealer has not been able to diagnose the problem due to it's intermittent nature. So far, this vehicle has had air suspension failures, power steering failures, and " due not shift transmission" failures and has become a safety issue for me and other drivers around me. I use this vehicle for work related travel throughout multiple states so it gets driven often.
While making a 3-point turn the power steering failed with the steering wheel turned all the way to the left. An unfamiliar warning light appeared on the dash (which was not identified in the manual or on-line) consisting of a red steering wheel over 2 red lines. Everything else seemed to be working. I grappled with the wheel to finish the turn, then turned the engine off. After re-starting, the power steering was working again. I had it towed to the dealer because I was afraid it would happen again. They reportedly found a corroded lead to the "power steering module" (even though the car is only 7 months old) because "the screw connecting the lead had not been greased properly prior to installation. The heater failed in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is apparently a very common problem in this model. Previously the seat heaters overheated and the power steering hose failed.
