1 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/28/2025

I own a 2022 Jeep grand wagoneer series iii (VIN [xxx] ) that has experienced repeated, unresolved electrical system failures which pose a direct risk to my safety and to the motoring public. The vehicle has already required fourteen warranty visits, with thirty-one days out of service and twenty repeat repairs. The problems include multiple no-crank/no-start events that have left me stranded, four premature battery failures, and ongoing electrical malfunctions affecting the instrument cluster, infotainment system, hvac, rear camera, mirrors, power running boards, and other electronic modules. These failures show that the electrical system is unstable and unpredictable. On [xxx], after the latest no-start incident, the dealership’s service manager told me directly that the issue was “more than just a bad battery. ” despite this acknowledgment, the only action taken was to replace the battery for the fourth time and declare the vehicle “repaired. ” Jeep’s customer care initially agreed that the history showed a deeper safety issue and promised to open a star engineering inspection, but that inspection has never been scheduled. Instead, I am being pressured to pick up and drive a vehicle that the dealership itself admitted has unresolved electrical problems. This is not just a matter of inconvenience — the risk of sudden electrical shutdowns while driving, or the loss of critical safety systems such as brakes, steering modules, and cameras, presents a clear hazard to my family and others on the road. A vehicle with this history should not be returned to service based only on repeated battery swaps while the underlying defect remains unidentified. I respectfully ask NHTSA to investigate the 2022 Jeep grand wagoneer series iii for systemic electrical failures and to ensure that stellantis does not force consumers to operate unsafe vehicles that continue to suffer from recurring electrical shutdowns. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

2 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/27/2025

The driver side sunvisor comes loose and dangles causing an unsafe driving condition. Dealership has repaired multiple times but it continues to happen. It is an inherent design flaw that is going to cause accidents and ultimately loss of life.

4 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/03/2025

My windshield has small bubbles in the laminate layer between the glass. It is only noticeable in the early morning and sunset when the sun shines directly through the glass windshield. The safety concern is at night when it is raining. When an oncoming car headlights come through the glass it is impossible to see the road. I have to slow down considerably. Hopefully the road is straight at this point because I cannot see the road. At first I thought my windshield was just dirty. After cleaning the windshield many times the issue did not go away.

5 Wiper problem of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/01/2025

Windshield wipes are malfunctioning. They come on and function by themselves without the windshield wipers being activated. Purchased the car on 5/26/2025 and issue started on 6/1/25. Took the car to the dealership on 6/2/25 to check the problem out. They couldn’t mimic the problem. Car has been back and forth to the dealership 3x since 6/2/25 trying to figure out what the issue is.

6 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

The 2018 Grand Cherokee has issues with mother board and electrical ghosts. 1st it was headlights and dome lights. They would flicker. I had to change the front lights 2x in a year. I thought this was odd. Never did this with any car before. Then I was driving home from work during rush hour and it started to rain. Started the wipers front and back. The back wiper started and went halfway and got stuck. What happen? the front wipers went on for several revolutions (say 10-20 ) then stopped. Started again. Then stopped again. The rain intensity grew. Now the -wipers would only work when turned in opposite direction (the manual 1 pass move). This happened as I was trying to get home and stuck bumper to bumper on [xxx] . On this dangerous highway in middle of now a torrential downpour the front wipers now decided it wouldn't work at all. I couldn't see anything and veered off to the shoulder thank god - waiting for rain to stop and then safely proceeded home. The next day the wipers worked. No check engine or anything. This goes on for a week or so with no issue. Then out of nowhere the driver seat decides it has a mind of its own and pushes me all the way to the steering column. It wouldn't return when pushing the back button. I had to drive like that for my trip and then it magically went back upon restart. I take to dealer. Pump motors bad on front and back. I say not sure your correct and explain. Motor changed on front. Not fixed. Ok we think its the bcm. Changed not fixed. Finally the pdm was changed and wow it worked. 2 weeks at dealer and this shows that this issue with the control module is certainly risking peoples safety. I hope Jeep does the right thing and prevents a serious catastrophic event. Read on the Jeep electric issues and my vehicle had a previous "corrected" recall for electrical cruise control. I dont think the fireware updates or software changes fixed all the bugs. Be safe out there Jeep information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (fo.

7 Wiper problem of the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/07/2025

The 2011-2021 Jeep wk2 Grand Cherokees all have a safety issue when driven in colder climates in snowy, or icy conditions. Where the wipers are parked on the windshield is below the level of the dashboard, so any heat that is produced by the windshield defroster does not warm the glass where the wipers are parked. This leads to the wipers freezing to the windshield, and cannot be operated to clear the windshield. I don't know why this hasn't been a recall issue in the past, as it effects every wk2 in those years. The solution would be to remove the windshield, and add a heating element to the inside of the glass, similar to the rear window, which happens to have a heating element underneath the rear wiper. There are other vehicles that do have heating elements under the front wipers, namely the Jeep kl cherokee models. So, fca knew this was a problem, and decided to ignore it, as they have done many other issues.

8 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/06/2025

On commute to work today cabin heat (on high) was blowing cold air. Start of drive heating within cabin/windshield was possible. After 10 mins of driving heat, vents began to blow cold air. Temperature this morning was under 20 f with slight mist of rain, because of the conditions the windshield began to ice over. With no ability to defrost the windshield. This is the same defect as fca recall# 04b/NHTSA 24v-111, which could result in the loss of being able to defrost. In summary cabin heat and defrost inconsistent and during cold/wet weather could result in not being able to see through windshield.

11 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 10/17/2024

Similar to TSB 23-015-22, our grand wagoneer/wagoneer has a windshield with vertical distortion in the center area of the windshield surface. This distortion is in the glass and impacts our ability to see clearly and also makes passengers car sick.

12 Wiper problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 09/07/2024

Well maintained and properly serviced car. Never had any issues. While driving out of town, 4hrs into the drive the electrical system went haywire. Error messages began cycling through on the driver panel - stability control lights, service air bag system, engine light comes up, and service bag system, after which the car loses total power. After pulling onto the side of the road, I placed car in park, and attempted to restart and it would not power on. All lights are working but the vehicle will not start - it makes starting sound but won’t power on. After trying for about 30 minutes, the ac blower pop on, which was strange b/c the car was powered off. The car starts and is driven about a mile and the same thing happens all over. After trying another hour it starts again and drives another 2 hrs to my destination (at this time the radio and ac was powered off. ) I chose to leave it off as I didn’t want anything to stop vehicle since it was running. Upon arriving to my destination a mechanic looked at it and said the electric systems stopped communicating and he reset it. The vehicle drove around town, a fee miles here and there, seemingly fine. When I put it back on the highway to return home the next day, the problem started all over again. We ended up stranded on the side of the highway yet again and after about 20 minutes, the car started up. We were able to drive to the nearest gas station at which time I attempted to turn the car off, thinking that maybe that would help to reset it. At this time the vehicle would not turn off. The front windows were not operating. The windshield wipers would not come on. It just so happened to be raining heavily, and I had to drive in the rain with no windshield wipers. Next, all the instruments went down. Gas hand went to e, even though there was over 200 miles of gas. The blind spots warning lights lit up and remained lit, the car appeared to want to lose power, would putter but remained on. Made it home and car powered off.

13 Wiper problem of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/21/2024

The front glass panel of the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered. The car was going approximately 45-50 mph when a loud "bang" was heard. Broken glass could be heard inside the closed sunroof liner. Upon inspection, there was no physical damage to the front end of the car, hood, or roof indicating that something may have struck the car. An inspection of the sunroof showed a sizable hole in the middle of the sunroof glass panel with accompanying cracks in the sunroof safety glass. The car can be inspected upon request. The safety of the driver and passengers could have been compromised if the sunroof shade/liner was retracted. The problem has not been reproduced although the dealer has confirmed that incidences such as this have occurred. The vehicle has not been inspected at this time, but an inspection is scheduled. There were no warning lamps or other notifications alerting the driver to the malfunction.

14 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/06/2024

Front windshield cracked in the middle where the rear view mirror and rain sensor is. No stone chip damage visible or obvious.

15 Wiper problem of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/12/2024

I had a recall on the dash of my Jeep due to the leather wrinkling. I had very slight wrinkling, so I honored the recall and took it to the dealership. They replaced the leather which seemed to fix the problem, well wrong, they put the leather down with no adhesive to keep it in place. Long story short, it began having some puckering in the middle, now the whole dash looks like a wrinkled bed sheet and its totally lifted along the bottom of the windshield, which has caused my defrost vent to lift out of place and resricts airflow. This resricts my visibility when the defrost cannot blow accurately. I took it back to the dealership to show them, and to tell them that it's worse than before I brought it to them, and if I had've known this would happen, I would have left it alone! I showed them that they obviously didn't put adhesive under the leather, the just laid and tucked it! they said they couldn't repair it. I took it to get it assessed and as soon as he saw it, he said "this was obviously installed wrong!".

16 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

The front windshield in our vehicle is severely distorted and causes other vehicles and objects to appear to be in different positions when viewing objects greater than 30° from the center of the driver's perspective. This is a well-documented manufacturing issue with the early build grand wagoneers. There is a technical service bulletin with an overview of the problem (23-015-22). We brought our vehicle to an authorized dealer on [xxx]. The service technician could see the issue instantly as we were parked next to a stair railing that severely distorted when viewed through the windshield. He created a report and passed it on to wagoneer customer care. Although this is not covered in our warranty, we are still working to have the issue resolved through the factory. Multiple people have reported this issue and the only remedy is to replace the original glass with the manufacturing defect. Wagoneer customer service has acknowledged this and actually posted the technical service bulletin and helps in remediation. That night and dusk, this is a serious safety concern. The refraction of the oncoming car's headlights move the vehicles placement when viewed through the windshield. It can cause flickering and flashing distracting the driver. There are several other scenarios that would be dangerous with a distorted and misplaced object in the driver's field of view. Here are additional posts of the issue: [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

17 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/29/2024

I received a safety recall letter in the mail. I made an appointment at the south shore Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram service center in inwood, NY for the repair of the recall and to change the oil. I specifically made the appointment for the recall (I keep getting notifications to repair) I went to the service center (1 hour drive from my home) on may 18,2024 (when I called to check in for the appointment “shanty” told me that there’s no appointment scheduled for me, even though I got a text message confirming the appointment) nevertheless, I went anyways. When I provided the recall letter to the representative, he told me that the service team can only do an oil change and can’t repair the defrost that day. So, after waiting for the oil change, I asked when I can come back for the recall repair, the representative told me that they need to get the parts first. I also notified the rep. That my parking rear view camera doesn’t turn on sometimes when in r and sometimes the screen goes black while I’m in the middle of parking. They ended up letting me go and drive with the recall still active. On June 19, 2024, I read on fox business that stellantis is recalling Jeeps due to rear view camera defects. I called the dealer who sold me the car (apparently he no longer works at Jeep) I spoke to a different representative, she gave me the phone number to mopar and stellantis - nothing else. Throughout the entire time of driving this car, I’ve been experiencing total discomfort. The car constantly jerks, seems like it doesn’t have enough power or traction (even though the gas tank is full and charged too) , and the windshield defrost takes a long time to work, even just the other day on June 29,2024 I started to drive and the windshield got so foggy that I had to stop. This car is dangerous and I do not feel safe driving it.

18 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/05/2024

While defrosting my windshield, only the passenger side was defrosting. Both sides were set to the same temperature. I spoke to a manager at a Jeep dealer and he said his wife has the same vehicle and it also does this.

19 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/08/2024

My vehicle has in cold weather no ability to clear and defrost the interior cabin of the vehicle as described in the recent recall, issued by Jeep, my VIN number was not included as part of this problem is obviously related, and the condition described in your campaign number is an exact match for the condition I experience during the winter months. While driving in boston in heavy traffic, my vehicle fogged to the point where I couldn’t see where I could pull over or if I could pull over or the vehicle in front of me fogged to the point of visibility and every window I had to put my hazard lights on and stop in the middle of traffic. I reported this to Jeep directly, they attributed it to a design defect? the most recent recall issued by Jeep left my VIN number out. With respect to the issue with the headlights activating in auto mode. My vehicle does not have high beam headlights. When the high beams are activated there’s absolutely zero change in lighting conditions and the fog lights stay engaged. Stellaris failed once again to identify all the applicable VIN numbers. What else are they failing to include as there have been four major safety recalls with my make model and year Jeep that did not include my VIN number which is disconcerting to say the least. Especially given the most recent airbag recall in the possible lack of activation. In my opinion, they are limiting this recall by guessing what production dates apply and are ignoring the vehicles that were produced immediately after or during the pandemic, which had items such as rear differential swapped out to a mechanical differential because they didn’t have the stock electronic diff in stock at the factory when the vehicle was built. A reasonable and prudent person would assume that major issues such as these would’ve been missed or overlooked when there were parts shortages as result of the pandemic and supply chain issues and not when things returned to “normal”.

20 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/22/2024

My car now has 2 open recalls associated with it (for a grand total of 5 overall) - and it only has 9,580 miles on it. The latest recall, 24v-132, does not have a remedy yet available. Jeep indicates the earliest they will be able to fix my car is April 8, 2024. I have told them numerous times I feel it is unsafe to drive. They are not giving me a loaner. They are not giving me a rental. I am stuck until "someone from the recall division calls" me back. Even though it's a rist of the wheels falling off, which can cause a wreck with no warning! recall 24v-11 was enacted on 2/15/24. My defrost system doesn't work well . . .

21 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/12/2024

Windows fog up out of nowhere. Side windows and front wind shield. Will go away and come back. Happening without adjusting the defrost settings or anything. Dealership said that my VIN isn’t affected.

22 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/30/2024

Wind shield fluid is not dispensing onto windshield, wipers operated but no fluid dispensed. With salt on roads visibility out the wind shield became nearly zero. There were no symptoms of an issue before it happened, no warning lamps or messages. Fluid would dispense to rear window meaning system is operational and there is fluid in the tank. Windshield washer fluid tube runs under the insulation on hood of car, found the tube has become disconnected from t-joint under the hood and fluid was running into engine compartment and not on wind shield. Defect happened at ~20,000 miles on car.

23 Wiper problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/15/2024

The high beam recall was performed at the dealer, and it did not repair the problem. This is a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The car was at the dealer a second time to try to repair it ,with no success. Now Jeep refuses to let the dealer work on it a third time. This recall is for the high beams not operating when set to auto. Safety recall no. 108 s9 4. Jeep is not honoring the warranty at the risk of my safety and in breach of contract. This car was worked on March 20,2024 and still no help from Jeep,NHTSA, ftc, or attorney general. Nice work folks! I first reported the problem on 1-15-24.

24 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/11/2024

The windshield has distortion in it. This is visible from the outside and the inside of the vehicle. This is an extreme hazard one that can easily cause an accident as it alters the depth perception of items within the windshield. A passenger riding in the front seat can actually start to feel sick (like sea sickness) due to this distortion. The manufacturer claims they have never heard of this and they do not warranty windshields even though this is a factory defect. Many forums discuss this issue as well.

25 Wiper problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/05/2024

Radio not turning on at all.

26 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

The system that has failed is the windshield has major distortion that affects the depth perception as you are driving. This is an extreme hazard as you cannot judge the distance of objects as they become distorted. Yes it was inspected by a Jeep dealership and they concurred with this distortion, in fact he laughed and said not sure how anyone drives this. Be aware as well that mopar in fact issued a service and replacement bulletin for this defect (attached) no warning lamps are issued. I purchased the car used from another state. When it arrived I noticed this defect but could do nothing at that time from whom I purchased it from. I have researched this and it is a defect known by mopar. They now are claiming to not be aware of this even though its all over the internet and I have the service bulletin issued by them.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair.  the dealer was made aware of the issue but confirmed that parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue.  parts distribution disconnects.

28 Wiper problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/23/2023

In August 2023 a recall was issued for my vehicle (recall 56a) for an issue with the central vision park assist module. My cvpam software was updated per the recall. As soon as this software was completed, my backup and forward facing camera has not functioned properly. Initially my backup camera guidelines disappeared and my forward facing camera guidelines would not turn off. My opened a "star" case with Chrysler and worked on this issue for 3 months, replacing the camera, updating software, replacing two different camera modules and nothing would correct the issue. In November Chrysler told the dealer not to replace any more hardware and they acknowledged there was an issue with the software update that caused the problem. They informed my dealer that an update would come out to correct the issue in either a recall or a dealer notice. On [xxx] my backup camera and my front facing camera stopped working completely. I took my vehicle back to the dealer and they performed a diagnostic on the system. The same error codes were given to them as was before when only the guidelines were missing. My dealer opened another star case with Chrysler on 1/29/24 to look into the issue but as I write this complaint on 2/7/24 I have not received any additional info from my dealer or Chrysler as to when this issue will be corrected. I have been without a backup camera since [xxx] and I feel this is becoming a greater safety concern with all of the children in my neighborhood. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

29 Wiper problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/23/2023

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee radio screen delamination, causing heating/defrost/seats/clock reset/radio channels cycling quickly, lack of navigation on screen. Very distracting when traveling/trying to reach the hospitals. At first it was very distracting while traveling, and didn't allow me to use any features/controls, and could've easily took my eyes off the road and have an accident. I can't use the radio when I need to, for certain situations, not just entertainment but location as I travel with work at times, and my wife and I both frequent hospitals with my heart issues and her lower gi issues. It just started appearing late in July 2023 and you can see something under the radio screen as if its a sticker/protective cover on the radio and it looks like its separating from the inside. I have it going into the shop for diagnosis 11/29/2023 but it is continually getting worse to where I can't use the radio/nav/comfort features at all and need to for our safety/travel, and winter is rapidly approaching.

30 Wiper problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/01/2023

Dear administration, I am writing to bring to your immediate attention a potentially life-threatening issue regarding the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe overlander, which I purchased from route 18 Jeep Chrysler dealership in new jersey in June of 2023. The car in question has a critical flaw that poses a significant danger to both the driver and pedestrians. Specifically, there is a glaring reflection cast onto the windshield directly in front of the driver, blocking visibility of the road. This appears to be coming from the head-up display device located on the mirror, which obstructs the driver's view of the road. The glare I'm referring to. Will change several times during a day? depending on the direction, you're going time of day or night and the external environment. It's impossible to drive the car through a tunnel lights on both sides of the roadway, it becomes very difficult to drive the car in the evening in the city environment, with light illuminating overhead on a street way. It's easier during midday but very difficult in early evening, we're early morning. This obstruction makes it nearly impossible to operate the vehicle safely and creates hazardous conditions for everyone on the road. Despite bringing this issue to the attention of multiple Jeep service stations, as well as Jeep wave, the manufacturer's department, I have received no acknowledgment of the danger from them. They have simply stated that this is how the automobile was manufactured, particularly for the specific model, highlander. As a result of this safety concern, I have chosen not to drive the vehicle for the past 10 months, as I refuse to put my family and others at risk. I urge you to take immediate action to address this issue before it results in tragic consequences on the highways. If this specific model of Jeep was indeed manufactured with this flaw, it has the potential to cause accidents and even fatalities.

31 Wiper problem of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/20/2023

We were about an hour away from home (in the mountains) and our Jeep had been running fine. We had stopped for a while and when we got back to our Jeep and started it, just about every warning light on the dash board came on and wouldn’t go off (the brake light, check engine, airbag, abs, etc. ) the middle of the dash was also flashing different messages…”service park assist and service power steering”. We started to drive and the car was jerking really hard while it was shifting gears. We think it was getting stuck in a high gear because it would hardly drive after we stopped at a stoplights. We turned our hazards on and just tried to make it to an auto parts shop. Our windshield wipers were automatically coming on and the speedometer and rpm needle were both going up and down really quickly. We spent just shy of two long months without our Jeep while it was in the shop. The mechanic ultimately replaced the clock spring and the tpim. Meanwhile, I joined a Jeep Grand Cherokee facebook group and it seems like this is a pretty common issue in Jeep Grand Cherokees. It was a costly repair and was very difficult for us to go without our second car for two months. I really feel like this issue needs to be addressed by Jeep.

I was driving and the battery light came on with a chime, within seconds the car smelled hot, the air conditioning went out, road hazard lights on dash indicating flat tire came on, windshield wipers were going on and off at different speeds and windows were opening and closing and then did not work at all. I got the car into the driveway as I was en route to our home. As I got car to the driveway I lost all power. I had the same thing happen in 2019 - report # 11255268. I do not know where to go to get the vehicle repaired or it the old recall will apply to this problem once again. Should I have the car towed to a dealer? I have my own private mechanic that addressed the problem in 2019. Please contact me ASAP. I don't know what the plan of action should be. Can I bring it to my own mechanic or does it need to go to a dealer. Please call or send me an e mail as soon as possible as I am without a vehicle. My number is 847-867-3921 or e mail me at kemahgal@aol. Com. Or sherlumpkins@gmail. Com. Or use both e mails. Thank you!.

35 Wiper problem of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/15/2023

On Saturday, April 15, 2023 at approximately 1pm, I was driving my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee summit on texas hwy 16. The weather was clear and traffic was light. There was not a vehicle, within 200 feet, in front of mine. The glass sun roof / panorama roof was closed. I heard a loud bang as if something had struck the roof of my Jeep. I then heard glass cracking and wind noise. I did not see anything strike my Jeep or bounce off of my Jeep. I did not see anything lying in the roadway behind my vehicle. I stopped my Jeep and saw the stationary portion of the glass panorama roof was shattered. The movable glass sun roof was not damaged. I did not see any marks or damage to the painted metal roof or metal trim around the glass panel. The worst of the damage appeared to be located at the front corners of the panel, nearest the front of the vehicle. There was not a visible area of impact. I am currently trying to locate a repair shop to replace the glass. I have not made an insurance claim. I do not believe the glass was damaged by an object. It appears the glass shattered due to stress on the glass, possibly caused by an incorrect installation by the manufacturer or defective safety glass. My Jeep has not been involved in a collision, nor have I altered any portion of the vehicle. I believe that had the glass completely shattered and dropped into the passenger compartment of my Jeep, I ,and other occupants of my vehicle, would have been exposed to flying glass particles.
