Sunroof suddenly shattered on interstate 90. Nothing hit or fell on the car. Looks as if excessive pressure in the cabin exploded the glass sunroof out.

The front a-pillars (on both sides of the windshield) are too wide, and block critical visibility needed while driving, especially at crosswalks with pedestrians. In addition, from the driver's seat, the passenger's outside mirror, doesn't allow for any visibility between the pilar frame and the mirror, thus further widening the blind spot on the right side making it difficult to see pedestrians in crosswalks.

The vehicles climate control/hvac system has inadequate ventilation that prevents air movement to occur. In cold tempatures all all of the vehicles windows fog and ice over form the inside. This results in the driver loosing visibility out of any window. During cold weather conditions, the rear passengers, windows, and rear wind window, even with defrost drawn ice up immediately along with the double moon roof. Problem limits, visibility, making the vehicle, unsafe to drive due to the limited visibility caused by this inadequate and design deficiency. There are no heating system vents besides in the front dash of the vehicle due to the moonroof. The rear climate controls do nothing to remedy of the issue . When I reported the issue to Jeep corporate immediately after purchase, they acknowledged the design deficiency, and that they were working corrected for future models. This is unacceptable and creates a hazardous driver condition for any vehicle. Had I know this prior to purchase I would have never bought the vehicle as there is no remedy.
My rear windshield shattered without any reason. It was a cold morning (30f). I used the remote start feature to turn on the car. When I start the car and start moving, I heard the shattering sound and my whole back windshield is broken. There we no scratches and prior damages on the back windshield.

The dashboard of the vehicle has delaminated, with the leather covering bubbling and warping. The uneven surface causes significant glare at certain sun angles to be reflected into the eyes of the driver. The dealership has inspected the vehicle and noted that Jeep had briefly extended the warrenty on the component due to known issues, but refuses to honor a repair or replacement outside of that warrenty period. The vehicle was purchased in this condition so it is unclear when the damage occurred.

My Jeep started skipping through screens on the display randomly in August 2022, but since has increasingly doing it nearly everyday now. There is a visible big “drip” look on the screen in the top right corner. The screen now will call contacts on my phone and has also activated the sos calls 4-5 times. I have to drive without connecting my phone to stop the inadvertent calls but the screens continue to flip through on its own. This is very frustrating and distracting while driving and the obnoxious ding it makes with each switch. The seat warmers flipping on constantly is also very distracting when the high setting is hot enough to make me hop to prevent injury and pain.

The plastic latch mechanism holding the eyeglass case (built into the overhead center console) shut broke. This prevents the holder from staying shut. The unlatched case blocks the rear view mirror thus preventing the operator from seeing rearward. Is this considered a visibility hazard? william hanson wehanson@rcn. Com.
I noticed things like the cluster going completely black at random and it would last for seconds before re-illuminating; it happens while driving. I took in my vehicle to the dealership on June 28, 2022, two days prior, I noticed that my doors were unlocking while I was inside my workplace, the alarm was going off another day and I noticed shifting issues with the transmission. On June 27, 2022 I was forced to buy a brand new battery because the Jeep was running in power saving mode, instead of taking a risk with a low battery, I bought a new one and thought everything was good, but it continued to run in power saving mode; I received two cel codes, both correlating to the transmission control module (tcm). Later that evening my son informed me that the cluster light was still on, the Jeep had been parked for several hours so there was no reason for the light to still be on (wake mode?). Also, I notated the codes I received before I had to have the Jeep towed to the dealership on Jun 28th to compare to what the service dept came up with; however on Jun 28th I attempted to jump the battery to take it to the service center but it wouldn’t jump or charge; what happened was, just before the cluster went haywire, the wipers were moving across the windshield while it was in an off position, the uconnect was glitching out then went black, cluster warned to service the electronic abs and the shifter, the fuse box was vibrating and shuddering very loudly, a hissing noise was coming from the back of the vehicle (could be the fuel pump? like compressed air) so by Monday morning, the 27th the battery had completely died and by the time it got to the dealership on tues, I had to use the battery warranty to replace the battery so that the service department could then diagnose the Jeep. Fine, the battery was replaced Jun 30th with a brand new one, but by fri Jun 8th I was told I need another brand new battery. All the issues had had a prior recall and seem to be reoccurring.
The radio goes in and out and the wipers do not clean the glass streak.
There is an issue that according to a document that the dealer gave me and is related to rear camera component fault stored in the radio (code e b21 7a-9a) they say they have no solution to the issue. When placing the change of the vehicle in reverse, the radio does not project any image, it is a high vehicle and the visibility is somewhat poor.

The dashboard of the car is rising and waving due to the heat of the sun in louisiana. This is reflecting a shean of direct/indirect sunlight off the wrinkles into the drivers eyes. It super distracting, a safety concern and a fault in the adhesion used in the manufacturing process! help!! it needs to be fixed at the manufacturers level!!.

I have had 2-3 windows blow out on my truck for no apparent reason. I am afraid that the front WI shield is going to blow when I am driving and I will get hurt and/or die. I am a single parent and need a vehicle to be safe. The dealership is being difficult and won’t look into why it keeps happening. The warrenty won’t cover it either as they don’t cover glass. I want them to look into why it is occur if or give me my money back. They don’t seem to take this problem seriously.
2nd, to continue with the issues of the vehicle lastly provided, while driving the check engine light come on and the traction control turns off, cannot turn back on using dash button, cannot access vehicle system on wheel, change display of dash view, windshield wipers are stuck on constantly, turn signals do not work nor does the hazard lights, vehicle is also stuck in 4x4 drive and cannot be taken out. Vehicle was taken to preferred jcd of muskegon mi and diagnostics were run with no clear diagnosis and no fix, suggestion was to replace tipm box. Now Jan 2024 and vehicle still sits with issues and not driven.

Shortly after purchasing vehicle we noticed there was an issue when using the remote start, the vehicle would start and then the horn would go off as if the alarm was going off, the vehicle would shut off and not want to start with the even with the power button. I disconnected the batter and let it sit for about 20 minutes and then reconnected and started the vehicle normally with the power button, about 6-7 weeks go by and after not using the remote start we had another issue, (no key detected) with both keys in the vehicle, did the same procedure with battery disconnect and reconnect and holding the key fob on the power button so that it would recognize the fob and it seemed to be ok for the time being until the next issue arrived.
The uconnect in the vehicle delaminated, which caused a crack on the screen. Due to that, the back up cameras do not work & the controls for most things in the vehicle are unable to be used now because they are all connected via the uconnect.
Over the course of several years' use, the oem hid headlights lenses have been burnt by the oem headlights which has incrementally diminished the headlight effectiveness. There is a frost like haze that has been burnt into the interior of the lens. This should be covered by the manufacturer given that the headlight cover lenses used on the headlight assembly were not adequate. I have experienced this diminishing visibility over the last several years, but it has reached a point now that it is a safety concern while driving at night.
-the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee l-limited was made to be a third, row off-road, all weather driven vehicle. #1: the front windshield is flush with the front pillars. This causes accumulated snow or off-road dirt to easily be pushed to the driver side window (with no way to wash off) and blocking the driver’s side mirror. This makes it impossible to to use the blind spot light on the side mirror. In my case, I had audio alarm turned off as not to wake the kids while driving across the country. So I had a couple of near misses until I was able to stop, clean the driver’s window and turn the blind spot alarm back on. This is not a big deal if driving in clear rain, just not off-road or snow. It’s available for inspection whenever needed. -our safety was placed at risk by creating a blind spot, making my driver’s side mirror and sensor obsolete. This created me nearly striking the cars beside me. -I just returned from the dealership(puyallup-larsen Jeep)an hour ago and the staff admitted it was a flaw. They actually recommend I go buy some aftermarket window lip, that does not exist. It was disgraceful to say the least for them to admit a flaw and suggest I fix it on my own, after having my car for 8 hours and it having 3500 miles on it. -no warning lights other than the blind spot sensors activating that I could be sure was activated or not. #2: the third row seat over heated the phone charging cord, causing light cabin smoke and burning a slight hole in the gym bag. My 7 y/o twins were woken up and advised me she think she smelled smoke. I figured it was nothing, it a brand new vehicle. She said “something is burning dad”. I turned the cabin light on as my 14 y/o said she now smelled something in the second row. I saw a light fog and immediately pulled over, ran to the back and yanked out the cord out of the car. The cord was overheated to my touch. The cord had burned the plastic bag the happy meal toy was inside. Available for inspection whenever.
I have owned this Jeep since approximately 2010 and is in great condition. This has been a great vehicle and has recently began to give us these issues. 1. Something is definitely wrong with the electrical system. It is available for inspection upon request. 2. Temperature gauge not reading, drivers side rear tail light and front passenger side marker lights do not work. Directional and brake light functions work only. Partial illumination on instrument panel, driver side window switch intermittently works, windshield washer intermittently works, defogger / vent function partially working, 1 horn working and vehicle reliability is the safety issue. 3. My mechanic looked at it and is was not surprised about all the issues at once. He mentioned the tipm having issues as many other of his customers having the same issues. 4. My vehicle has not been inspected by anyone else but my mechanic. 5. There were engine light warning lamps that suddenly came on when the lights started to not work, then the other issues followed. Since this is an electrical issue, the vehicle has a possibility of shutting down while driving, as has happened to others.

Sometimes when first started and other times while driving, the main touch screen dies and certain functionality is lost though the car is still drivable. Everything controlled by the touch screen stops (radio, cameras, heating/cooling) but blinkers do not work, front wipers turn on and can't be turned off, high beams turn on and off, and cruise control turns on and off. If this happens while driving, a message saying "sos call unavailable. Please visit an authorized dealer" pops up. If it happens when the engine is first started, nothing appears on the screen.
My air bag light has been lit up like a christmas tree for since June. I have not been in an accident and the wipers are not responding properly when turned on.
The passenger seat heater light keeps turning off after pushing the button. I checked under the seat and all wires seem fine. Turn the car back on an it works for a little bit then does it again. Something odd is going on with it because the ac seat works still. The windshield wipers cause a very loud annoying hum when going 60 or faster an its very annoying.
This is my second Jeep and my previous had the same issue. The wind shield fluid kind drizzles out and never reaches the top of the wind shield.
About 47 degrees fahrenheit outside drove for about 30 minutes with interior temp set to 72 degrees down a highway. Windows started fogging up so turned on the defrost. Heard a crack and window cracked down middle of windshield about 10 spread to above the mirror and turned toward driver side window. Later skipped about 2 inches and started again. By 2 hours later crack spread to top of windshield and almost to end of driver's side.
My Jeep Grand Cherokee summit was purchased new in 2018. I am the only owner and primary driver. In early 2020 I noticed some bubbling with the leather of the dashboard. It continued to bubble up a little at a time until today, November 7, 2023 it is so bubbled up that the delaminated leather blocks the air vent that defrosts my windsheild; blocks completely any possibility of warm air reaching the windshield wipers. In freezing weather conditions this becomes very dangerous. I was driving in a blizzard down the freeway with very low visibility. The only way I could see anything was to have the wipers going at full speed. Because they were not receiving any warm air from the defrost vents they froze up in the closed position and would not move. Due to freeway traffic and conditions I could not pull over but I could not see. I nearly rear ended a vehicle in front of me and could not see to trade lanes and try to pull off. I was able to roll down my window, grab and flip the wiper to get it moving while driving. My front passenger was able to do the same and we continued to drive this way with our windows down until we could pull off. Other drivers with functioning dashboards where the warm air was reaching the wiper area as intended were not having the same problem I was. The delaminated leather is also a problem because my windshield will not defog on the lower half and visibility can be very poor. This may not be as big a hazard but still is a hazard because of the reduced visibility.
Tl-the contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that when driving at 65 mph the vehicle sunroof glass abruptly fractured. The contact stated the sunroof glass was not hit by an object while driving. The sunroof interior cover was able to retain the fractured glass from falling into the vehicle interior. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 52,820. Li.
Delamination of the leather top over the instrument cluster is blocking vents and causing visibility issues. Additionally the air suspension is leaking at connections at top of struts.

The leather dashboard on my Jeep Grand Cherokee is delaminating (I. E. , detaching from the dashboard). Chrysler is aware of the problem and issued an "x-81" extended warranty (which they failed to communicate to consumers) and is now refusing to take steps to correct the issue. This problem causes a distraction while operating the vehicle and if it continues to worsen it may impede visibility.

I was driving approximately 40mph on a us highway when I heard what sounded like a shotgun. My sunroof had exploded from the inside out. Nothing at all hit the glass.

Dashboard pad cover is wrinkling and detaching from the dashboard top. The area most effected is on the passenger side. The covering has detached about 2 inches away from the windshield and has detached from the air vent cover. The detachment has caused the air vent cover to rise. The air vent cover is no longer flush with the top of the dashboard. While driving, the distortion in the dashboard pad covering and air vent cover distracts from my peripheral view and when I'm checking the right side or viewing the right view mirror. The service dealer at koons tysons corner, va was notified in may 2020. I was told there had been a recall to repair the dashboard pad, but parts were on order and there was a backlog for repairs. On December 28, 2021, the service center stated the dashboard pad replacement was expected June 2022. Now, each time I call reference the replacement, I'm told the vehicle is on a waiting list or I get a service person who has no knowledge of the recall or issue.
The dash board upper leather ip is DE-laminating or separating, resulting in reduced driver visibility.
Fca uconnect sending forced updates to certain vehicles with uconnect systems onboard (satellite signal sent directly to vehicle). A known issue by fca, is that the forced update fails during the update rendering certain features useless. In my encounter the system update failed and most electronic systems were not functional such as defroster, control of the power seats, the vehicles lighting systems among other systems. This is dangerous and fca is aware of this failure yet they have failed to notify consumers of such failure and how it could adversely effect their control and access to function of the motor vehicle while in operation.
The fan for heat and air conditioning suddenly quits working. The fan motor makes a roaring noise. The wipers will only work on high. Our Jeep only has 60k. We have already had an oil leak and had to replace the water pump. Also the check engine light is on code says it's an exhaust leak. We are very disappointed in the over all quality.
