This cars tipm system is extremely faulty I've had it fixed 3 already and it still acts as of it is possessed. This happened on the freeway where the car started going off by it's self stalled and couldn't do anything about it. I almost died. There has been many complaints about this vehicles tipm system but Jeep refuses to recall them. Also the airbags do not deploy. This is a huge safety issue.

Air bags did not deploy unpon front impact. We was driving and hit another vehicle.
I lost control of the Jeep yesterday hit two trees head on the curtain airbags above the windows all the way down the sides deployed but the main steering airbag did not deploy nor did the passenger side airbag in the dash I was on a back road.
All of the dashboard lights are on. Speedometer, odometer, gps, automatic door lock, remote start, cruise control, none of that works. Tire pressure warning lights are constantly flashing different pressures. Everything lights up upon starting and stays on while moving until it's turned off. This initially happened when I was driving on a highway, and my first reaction was that I didn't have any brakes. It was quite frightening. Subsequent to that the lights would go on and off intermittently, but after a few months they are now permanently on. The dashboard also makes a ping noise every minute or so. I purchased the car in 2017 and this had not been a problem until a few months ago. The known danger is in not knowing how fast I am going. The unknown danger is could the brakes at some point not work, or if I become involved in an accident will the air bags not deploy or will the engine at some point just stop running. I have been told it could be a faulty tipm. I also have a 2008 Jeep Liberty that does not have this problem, however it suffers from the same dashboard random ping noise.

The accident was 12/20/2017 at about 1500 hrs, heading east on hwy 10 and accident on ferry street. The vehical is a 2003 Jeep Liberty. The air bage did not deploy on inpact. Your service is truly needed with this investigation. Thank you.
The airbag light on my 2012 Jeep Liberty came on right before I received a recall notice for the active head restraints. When I picked the car up from the dealer after the repair for the recall the airbag light was still on. I was told it was a separate and very costly issue- the orc module needs to be replaced. I was given a 100% guarantee by the service manager that my air bags would not deploy in an accident. After looking up the issue online, I found a vast number of complaints for the orc module for my make and model. Many individuals complained that their air bag light came on at the same time as the active head restraint recall. Clearly, this car has major safety issues with the whole air bag system in general. There need to be a recall. If I am in an accident before I am able to afford to fix this issue and my air bags do not deploy, I will sue the company for everything they are worth. At this point, it is straight up negligence that will end in fatalities.
2012 Jeep Liberty occupant restraint controller 2 module has an internal failure and needs to be replaced to restore air bag functionality air bags will not deploy until fixed every other year Jeep had a recall for this except 2012 the air bag light is on in the dashboard at all times there was a recall to reprogram the tipm module but not to replace the orc module.
Vechical was sitting but running. Person in driver and passanger. Started to leave and the airbag light on dash never turned off. Drove car next day, driver only, airbag warning light came on and off intermittently. Now a few days later the airbag light stays on a'll the time. Evidently the airbag will not deploy if accident occurs. Checked loose wires at recommendation of dealership and, nope none loose. Dealership said we can schedule appointment in a week and be several hundred to fix.
Takata recall: not sure how long a occupancy restraint module should last, but I know mine apparently is 7 years with 77,300 miles on it. May 10th, 2017 I had been driving my car all day, we made a stop at kroger and when we got into the vehicle the airbag light came on. Nothing we could do that night, so we went to a birthday dinner and while driving there it stayed on. Came out after we were finished the light had turned off. I turned the vehicle on to leave work on Tuesday may 16, 2017 and the light had come on again. We called the service center to get it in and the service center had said the occupancy restraint module was faulty but they didn't understand why. After some research I found other Jeep models with the same defect and was recalled. Also, the same model but different years were recalled. The service center advised that it would be a possibility that if I crashed I could be ejected from the car, and the airbags may not deploy.

In August 2016 at 39000 miles while in motion on a highway the air bag warning light came on and wouldn't go off. I looked up the issue and found hundreds of reports of the issue and found the recall for the orc module. I took the vehicle to frisco Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram in September 2016 and they pulled the code, flashed the device, but this did not fix the issue. I was then told that I would need to pay $550 + labor to have the part replaced. I declined the repair because I knew it was part of a recall and I was not going to pay for it. In April 2017 I was rear ended and the airbags did not deploy and I sustained injuries. The body shop that repaired my vehicle pulled the code and printed out the recall information for me and stated it was indeed the dealership's issue to fix for free under the recall specifications. A few days ago I took the vehicle back to the same dealership, recall printout in hand. The service advisor that assisted me, whom also was the service manager, stated that they would look into the issue and if they couldn't do anything regarding the recall he would personally contact Chrysler to see if they would be able to do anything for me. I was told I would be called the next day, never received a call. On the second day I received a call from the service tech stating that it would be $550 + labor for the repair and it was due to an internal fault with the orc module. I stated that I was not paying for the repair due to it being under recall. I advised that if the issue wasn't remedied that I would file a lawsuit on them & Chrysler and that would cost much more than replacing the part. After ending the call the same tech called back 45 minutes later & demanded I pick up the vehicle if I wasn't going to pay for the repair. I now have my vehicle back with the air bag light still on, & cannot register my car, won't pass inspection with this issue.
The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. While driving approximately 50 mph, the contact's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. The air bag and abs indicators illuminated, but the air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision shop and later taken to a local dealer. The air bags could not be repaired because the part was no longer manufactured. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no guarantee that the air bag would be repaired due to the part unavailability. The failure mileage was 108,450.
The contact owned a 2002 Jeep Liberty. While driving 45 mph in inclement weather, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it slid into a concrete barrier. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained face injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the crash scene and was completely destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v046000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 120,000.
I had taken my car into a Jeep dealership in July of 2015 to get a recall for the airbags fixed. They told me that they did not have the parts necessary to fix it but that they would contact me when the parts became available. First of all I never heard back from them, I still haven't even to this day but I did receive an official notice for the recall in the mail. On April 3, 2016 I was involved in a head on collision which ended with me in the hospital with severe trauma to my spine and my car totaled. In this accident my airbags failed to deploy even though several sensors were hit in this accident. I'm very lucky that I am still actually alive but I am extremely distraught over the fact that I could have avoided injuries if my airbags had deployed. Someone needs to make this right. Attached is an image of what my car looked like following the accident.
