Intermittent problem. When starting car, wipers come on and turn signals fail to work. The only way to get wipers to stop is to pull the fuse. Turn signals remain inoperable. This problem has been ongoing for over 2 years. Have taken vehicle to dealer multiple times. Dealer claims they cannot locate a problem; however, there clearly is a problem. Do not feel safe driving car with wipers going and no turn signals. We have also had issues with interior lights remaining on. Very distracting to driver at night. Again, took vehicle to dealer and they cannot find a problem. Please help issue occurs while vehicle is stationary and in motion. We drive city and highway streets.

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that their soft top under the sunroof went bad. The cover will not pull out correctly. The soft top was part of the electrical system. Due to the malfunctioning of the soft top this caused a electrical short in the engine. The check engine, tire pressure and sunroof light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to garavel Jeep 300 westport Ave, norwalk, CT 06851 (203) 424-2688 where the vehicle was diagnosed. The test read that a new egr valve needed to be installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. Jw.

The transmission is defective which in turn ruined the transfer case. I have another defective belt tensioner. Last but not least I have two more broken window regulators. Just check the internet there are articles all over about broken window regulators. I understand they only recalled 2006 and 2007 what about 2002-2005 which were bad first. On top of that they replace them with the same defective window regulators so they will break again and again. That way the dealers can continue to make money on you. The garage told me that the transmission in my car was used for one year on one model and I believe it because they have tried all over for a transmission and cannot get the right one. They have had three sent in and all three were wrong. This just confirms that the transmission was defective and they stop using it. Plus a transmission should last far longer than 120,000 miles. I read all the time that today cars are good for 200,000 miles or more. This does not include the other defective parts on the Jeep: belt tensioners, locks, roof rack, window regulators, horn, leaking windshield, rubber on roof rack, rubber on and around doors, upholstery stains even from water, master cylinder, replacing lights way to often as well as fuses, marks in the paint, fuel relay switch, and this list is by no means all inclusive it is just what I can remember off the top of my head. I have contacted Chrysler over the years about window regulators and they don't care. Your car is never secure when a window will drop without warning. It can occur while drive or even when you are not in the car. Only one window in my car gets opened. Windows not used break leaving you susceptible to theft and bodily harm. Chrysler does not care about the transmission either. It is all greed. After being bailed out twice by the us taxpayers it is time they pay us back by being honest.
Power window regulator failure. Headed to our son's college graduation driving down I-75 south of atlanta, GA and the rear passenger window just dropped into the door. Had to stop to borrow a coat hanger to get the window back up then buy duct tape to hold it in place. Was nearly late for the graduation ceremony. Will have to take time off from work to take the car in for repair.
Airbag light keeps flashing while driving. Jeep shakes as if unstable or struts the suspension and my visibility due to the defroster and wipers don't work properly.
The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. While driving 30 mph, the driver side window became inoperable. The contact also mentioned that the rear driver and passenger glasses shattered previously independently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.

Starting two years ago, after a rain, when parked, upon locking my car either manually or with the key fob, the alarm goes off, interior lights illuminate and the dash states the gate is ajar. Repeatedly open and close the gate with no remedy. Have to leave car unlocked and usually the interior lights go off after a few hours. Related is the gate occasionally fails to unlock as well as unable to open the rear gate window. And the rear wiper continues to stay on after being turned off. All appear to be related to moisture somehow affecting the lift gate electrical system. Have taken to dealership three times, first two under warranty and dealer advised unable to find problem. Third time after warranty expired, advised they would need to replace seal at cost of $600. Declined repair.
Driving on city street when horn began intermittently beeping and wipers and washers front and back activated. Pulled off to side of road, removed key, engine continued to run, along with horn, wipers, washers and locks continued to intermittently activate. Lasted 15 minutes and this is the 5th time happening. After certain amount of time car functions normally. One instance occurred at night and lights turned off.

The glass was misaligned in the rear portion of the track versus flush. The contact was able to further inspect the sky slider sun roof track to place the pin in line but the failure continued with the misalignment. The dealer and the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

2010 Jeep Liberty - with a moon /sky slider. After rain or snow storm accumulated water somehow is trapped and leaks thru the inside from the dome lights. Second major issue is the horrendous wind noise, any time the vehicle operates over a speed of 45 plus miles you can hear it inside. They say when you drive an SUV don't turn your corners too fast, ha! when you drive a Jeep made with this moonslider it drags you like you can flip any minute on the highway, the dealer is absurd and wants to charge you over $3000. 00 to fix it. This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased it - just got another quote.
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Liberty. On several occasions, the headlights and windshield wipers operated independently. The contact also stated that the driver and passenger turn signal indicators failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I have a few issues and questions. I purchased my Jeep thru navy exchange sales in 2003, new. I lived in singapore 2007-2013, all recalls posted for these years were not performed on my vehicle as the car was in storage and no one drove it. How can I get these previous years recalls completed for my 2003 Liberty Jeep? I currently have a outstanding recall from Nov 2015 that was reviewed by the Jeep dealer southern Jeep, located on military highway and I have yet to receive any feedback wrt the status of the repair, evaluation etc. . . My rear window defrost mechanism is inoperable; it has been repair about 5 times by Jeep dealers, it was a recall a few years back and guess what, it still doesn't work and the wire is just hanging there in a non-working status. Help! I'm a loyal Jeep owner, I have (2), this may change. . . . ? pls advise@: samuel. Fuller@navy. Mil.

This electrical problem showed up in the middle of driving down the road. The entire car shut down going 40 mph. Lights flashed, wipers went off, horn too, all for 10 seconds, while cruising with now power/gas. Then the car started again on its own, and kept driving. Ever since, the electrical system is screwed up. Wipers will run, but do not push fluid. Car doors will not lock/unlock with keyfob or driver's side controls. Must manually lock/unlock all doors. The tailgate cannot unlock, therefore will not open. Fan doesn¿t work, so no a/c or heat. Mechanic said the tipm must be replaced, and it is not covered by Jeep/Chrysler warranty. $1300 out of pocket! this is ridiculous, it is obviously a manufacturer defect.
While driving, the sunroof motor assembly suffered a catastrophic failure while closing. The plastic rail assembly made a loud cracking sound and the glass wedged firmly against the roof, half open. This occured shortly after my replacing all 4 door window regulators (for the second time) due to what can only be described as negligence in the engineering design of the plastic carrier assembly that cannot support the load of the window as it is intended to. The failure to properly design these components has led to the windows falling into the door unexpectedly while driving, each time causing an unnerving distraction to me as a driver, and unnecessarily endangered myself and the general public in the vicinity when these events occurred. It appears there are countless instances of this issue being described on line, and a recall needs to occur.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the rear driver's side slid down into the door panel without warning and the contact had to manually roll the window up. Five days later while the vehicle was parked, the rear passenger side window slid with without warning and the contact had to again roll the window up manually. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the window cables failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. Sg.

While pulling into parking space, horn suddenly blows, wipers and washers come on, lights come oncar bucks. Brought to dealer kept for 3 days, no answer. 3 days later car parked horn blows wipers on, doors lock. 2 days after car parked same thing. Dealer can find no codes. Repeat of same incidents from 8/20/14, same response from dealer.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. While driving 70 mph, the sky slider failed to completely close. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed, but the results were unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.
Driving on the freeway at 70mph when the ac compressor seized and blew the bearings out. Oil got on belt which caused it to slip on power steering pulley which slightly increased steering effort. Ac compressor is used to operate defogger. Since ac compressor is broken, defogger will not work and visibility may not meet federal standards depending on weather.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the sky slider sunroof slid off the track and independently opened halfway. The sky slider sunroof also failed to function when activated. In addition, the window controls on the front driver's side failed to function. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the sky slider sunroof needed to be put back on its track. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000. Oo.
First incident was in November to where my headlights quit working. I switched out the dual switch but that did not help and then tried cleaning and switching the relays around in the tipm and that helped somewhat. Now I have a whole set of problems. My wipers will not shut off and headlights will not shut off unless I turn car off, and my blinkers are not working at all. I had to pull the fuse for the wipers but cannot find the fuse for the blinkers because it is part of the tipm as well as the headlights. I am worried that with these little issues coming up that eventually bigger ones will happen if the tipm is the problem and Chrysler knows about this, why isn't there a recall. I do not see why I should dish out all this money to repair something that is a defect.
The contact owns a 2004 Jeep Liberty. The contacted stated that the rear passenger window became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while driving at 5 mph, the driver window failed to rolled up staying in the down position. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,564. Aw.
I started my Jeep Liberty and the windshield wipers started going when the switch was in the off position. I turned on my headlights and they stopped. When I got home I took disconnected the neg wire on the battery to reset the computer in Jeep and I hooked it back up after 20 mins and where the mileage is shown it said error.
Driving at 40 when the horn, wipers, and lights start going crazy. Had to pull over and restart the car to get it to stop. Took it to the dealer, they diagnosed the tpim to be faulty and it would cost 1200 to fix. Come to find out the tpim has been recalled by chrysle but not for the 2008 models.
1st incident occurred in March 2013. I was driving to work in a 25mph zone. Suddenly, the horn started beeping, windshield wipers (front and rear) were going, washer fluid was pouring out, power door locks where going on and off. Had to pull over because I could not see with the fluid spraying out at full speed. I turn the car off and removed key from the ignition and this continued to go on for 5 minutes. Brought the car to manfredi dealership. They replaced the tipm module which was very costly. A year and 1/2 later on may 18, 2015, I experienced the same exact problem. There is definitely a major flaw with this part. It's extremely dangerous when this occurs on a highway/turnpike doing the speed limit. This part should be recalled immediately. I should not be responsible to pay for yet another tipm. When I called the dealer they explained it's only a 1 year/12 months guarantee, but this part should last at least 5 years. Really???.
The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the rear driver side window became inoperable without warning. As a result, the rear driver side window fell into the door. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The hoses that were attached to the windshield wiper fluid are no longer connected. There are no clamps holding the hoses in place so I am assuming Jeep used some sort of adhesive. The adhesive came undone on both pieces and I can no longer clean my windshield. This is a very dangerous thing because now I can not clean my windshield while driving.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while rolling up his rear passenger side window it shattered without warning. The contact stated that he also had difficulty removing the key from the ignition while in the off position. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 12v085000 and 13v252000 (suspension and fuel system, gasoline, structure). The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. Sg.
When using my remote to unlock my 2008 Jeep Liberty, the horn starts honking, the windshield wipers (front and back) turn on, the windshield washers (front and back) shoot fluid, the door locks won't open and the headlights turn on and off. This has happened four times in the last two months. The headlights have also started turning off while driving and I'm unable to turn them back on.
When drivers door was opened, vehicle horn, wipers both front and rear all began to operate and I was unable to start and maintain the engine running, it was necessary to disconnect the battery terminal in order to stop everything. A month later, I was in town and it did the same thing. In April while coming to a stop sign the vehicle stopped running and the horn, wipers and lights all began operating. I was able to control the vehicle until it stopped. The battery had to be disconnected in order to get the vehicle to run. The next afternoon, it did it again however disconnecting and reconnecting the battery did not solve the problem. I had to leave the battery disconnected all night in order for the vehicle to reset.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the front driver side and rear windows failed to go up or down while using the window switches. Also, the front passenger side and rear windows moved very slowly when the window switch was activated. The contact stated that the driver side window regulator failed, causing the window to open without the window switch being depressed. In addition, the contact stated that the tpms warning light was illuminated even though the tire was inflated to the manufacturer's vehicle specification. The vehicle was not taken for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
