2 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2016 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 05/29/2020

Transmission #2 failed on may 31st lurched forward felt like someone slammed into the back of the car at a traffic light and would not shift into gear at all as I looked for a safe place to park it so it could be towed. Slammed into gear as well. Was told that there was no way of knowing where the transmission failed only that it did and was going to be replaced again.

3 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2018 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 07/05/2019

When driving at long periods of time at higher rpm's (2500-3000), especially when driving on an incline, transmission appears to shift hard, not go into gear properly, or just simply go into neutral, and slow the vehicle down rapidly. When traveling on the decline, there were no problems whatsoever. Vehicle has 4800 miles on it. Spoke to dealer, and service tech informed me it wasn't the first time he's heard this complaint.

4 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2017 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 01/19/2018

First breakdown check engine light and air bags light came on then the engine locked up and I could not switch gears and could not accelerate. Second break down emergency break locked up and would not release and check engine light and check airbags came on again. Third breakdown emergency break locked up and would not release again and the check engine light and air bags light came on again and could not switch gears. Fourth breakdown would not start had to be towed turns out battery needed to be replaced. Fifth breakdown engine stalled had to pull over and restart the car. Sixth breakdown remote start the car did not start up and then would not start manually. Seventh breakdown engine stalled again had to be towed would not start backup. 8th breakdown Jeep was shifting really hard took to delaership now has to have transmission replaced. This car is a year and a half old and has had all these problems I just found out that Jeeps that are 2017 and 2018 have recalls this vehicle has the electrical problem and the boby is falling apart. All of this has affected the gas mileage. All these break down were city streets and highway.

5 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2016 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 12/21/2016

Within a few weeks into purchasing the new 2016 Jeep Renegade vehicle in December 2016, and intermittently since then, we have had "dead peddling" issues, example: we are stopped at a stop light to turn right, traffic clears with enough clearance to allow a safe acceleration to turn right and enter with the flow of traffic, however, when the gas peddle is mashed to go forward, nothing happens, sometimes for a few moments, and then the car moves forward at the, now, wrong moment, when it is unsafe to turn right, since traffic has caught up and the gap to enter the flow of traffic is no longer a safe distance from oncoming traffic, causing me to have to hit the brakes. Also, accelerating onto the highway from an exit/entrance to enter the highway (going 25-35 mph from the on ramp, when entering onto a 65 mph highway), pressing harder on the gas peddle to attempt to achieve a higher speed to move onto the highway with the flow of traffic, is delayed or doesn't happen at all unless we let off the gas and press again, sometimes multiple times, and the vehicle is still traveling at an unsafe slower speed than the flow of highway traffic going 65+mph. These issues happen randomly both when the vehicle is at a complete stop, and at a lower speed when we want to speed up. We have no issues braking or slowing down. Another safety flaw is the vehicle does not shift gears when needed, it will "red-line" occasionally before shifting when attempting to speed up. All of our issues have happened both on the highway and in the city. We have almost been hit or rear ended by a semi-truck or other vehicles due to these flaws. Every time we bring it to the dealership with these complaints, or for normal oil changes, we have mentioned these issues and they have been documented as such, however, the dealership doesn't have fixes for the issues, as they can't duplicate the issue.
