1 Body problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/08/2025

I am reporting significant premature rust on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The rust is visible on all four doors and the hood. The vehicle has been properly maintained, regularly washed, and has not been exposed to unusual or extreme environmental conditions that would justify this level of corrosion. The rust appears along the bottom edges and seams of each door, as well as along the leading edge of the hood. These areas show bubbling paint and visible oxidation, which is spreading. Given that this vehicle is only five years old, this level of corrosion is unacceptable and inconsistent with the quality and durability expected from Jeep. Warranty considerations: this issue should be covered under Jeep’s 5-year/unlimited mile corrosion (perforation) warranty and/or the basic corrosion coverage, as the rust appears to originate from beneath the paint along factory seams — suggesting a defect in materials or workmanship, not owner neglect. Action requested: I am requesting that Jeep/stellantis authorize a warranty repair to remove the rust, treat the affected panels, and repaint to factory standards to prevent further deterioration. Given the extent of corrosion at this age, I believe this warrants prompt attention and resolution under warranty coverage. This has been a known issue on 2018 to current Jeep Wrangler and they have not resolved the issue. They keep selling Jeep Wrangler with this issue.

2 Body problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/31/2025

After filing my first concern with the vehicle and attempting to rack my brain with answers to why a 2018 is falling apart at the seams, I can only come up with either fraud, or the vehicle has been modified in major ways and glued together only to fall apart every bump I go over. After some reading I’m questioning 49 cfr part 565 form that was turned in after I purchased the vehicle means that I possibly have a replica, “remanufactured”, or altered vehicle. I’m not sure of the legality of selling a vehicle built from whatever vehicles I have, I do know that parts are not all the same years upon scanning modules I got some strange replacement identifiers that I will send. I also question if it really passed emissions being that my short term fuel trim sensor passed the catalytic converter on both sides stays over 99% consistently, also one of the “inspection” reports was done 2 minutes apart and the paper states that the vehicle passed at 5:08 then failed at 5:10 pm the same day. Not many vehicles tend to try again after passing and 2 minutes apart. I would have never bought a vehicle that not only has random foreign parts but a 2015 vehicle is also showing up under module information. I’ll never have recall information, and it seems that every system in the vehicle meant to warn or save me and my family when driving is compromised completely, yet somehow someone was allowed to pretend that I was buying a 2018 Jeep sahara unlimited with no record on carfax that what I am paying over 50 grand for with tax doesn’t just get bad gas and jump half the road when I hit a bump “because it’s a Jeep”. I should have been made aware that I was buying something scrapped, and that the odometer could be from any of them. I would like to receive a report of the form filed months after I purchased the vehicle and my entire Jeep changed description and was no longer being monitored for safety. The ipc, bcm, tcm, and ecu aren’t properly communicating, and panels are all shifting.

3 Body problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/14/2025

It started with the engine sounding louder then normal. Then a bad smell in the cab of the vehicle. Later found out it was a exhaust leak that was getting into the vehicle causing headaches and other symptoms of carbon monoxide. Also note the burn marks around the broken bracket that could cause a fire if not mechanically inclined to notice. Not check engine light for this. But when I spoke to the dealership it wasn't new to them. Apparently this has happened to alot of the ecodiesel Jeep and gladiators. A common problem that should be resolved before and life threatening injuries result in loss of consciousness or fire.

4 Body problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/03/2025

After purchasing seems the VIN was updated with information I was not disclosed. The bcm has never worked correctly the instrument panel is erratic and even with a code reader showing p codes there’s no check light. The steering makes the entire vehicle jump over half a road. Blind spot monitors don’t know what to do sometimes they are unavailable, odometer has all 9s sometimes. I did all the checks on the vehicle at the time and what I was given showed I had a 2018 4 door sahara and that was what I was led to believe. After having issues and getting my registration I started looking at everything more because the dealer registered me as a commercial passenger truck(still don’t know why) but found a report that says moab/sahara and my seems my vehicles body chasis and motor are all over the place. I’m pretty sure the engine is failing as at one point in one of the reports I found it stated it failed emissions. But the overall worst is that the suspension looks like it came off the titanic compared to the body panels, there’s a lot of welding and rusted or “appearingly tampered” pieces in the chassis and the vehicle seems to be coming apart at every seam. I am currently not driving it because it looks to have sank down to where it could be dangerous I’m pretty sure the suspension, frame, and axles aren’t rated for what’s on it and sounded like something may be coming off at the wheel or axle area last time I did drive it. The vehicle I thought I was purchasing had safety guidelines and there is 2. 0 parts, 3. 6 parts on this along with random other countries parts. It was bought used “as-is” but not under the pretense that they assembled it by hand from leftovers. It wouldn’t pass safety standards or emissions in a foreign country much less in the united states. I am starting here but will be seeking legal counsel. No longer certain I even have a Jeep frame or chassis or just some panels stuck to a rusting timebomb. I’ve only drove like 8,000 miles. Now I’m scared to.

6 Body problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/16/2025

I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler jl series. I was driving down the highway, and the soft top latches sheared off, causing the top to rip back off the top of the Jeep. These clips fell down inside the car and sharp plastic pieces hit my sunglasses. The place where they sheared off was not at any boat locations or latching sections. This year was at the curve where it boats on to the soft top roof frame. The flat section where the sheer occurred was about 2 1/2 inches to 3 inches by only a quarter inch thick. This thickness was not substantial enough to hold the roof locked down tight. This could have created an accident as I was going down the highway at 60 miles an hour almost losing control of the vehicle. I have visited the dealer and called Jeep. Customer care they offer no support. I feel like this is a substantial safety issue that could cause someone to lose control of the vehicle and endanger themselves and others.

7 Body problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/02/2025

- when driving on the highway, vehicle and steering wheel will shake uncontrollably if going over any bumps or grooves. Vehicle is available for inspection and is currently being inspected by nearest dealership. - car would begin shaking and steering wheel would begin shaking and locking up. - problem is currently being assessed by nearest Jeep dealership. - no warning signs or messages appeared prior to vehicle and steering wheel trembling. Problem first appeared 1/2/2024.

8 Body problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/02/2025

Upon reaching about 60 mph on the freeway, the vehicle suddenly began to shake violently, severely reducing my ability to steer and control the vehicle. After quickly (and dangerously) reducing my speed, it stopped, but it occurred again two more times. I pulled over and turned the car off, did a quick inspection and found nothing out of order. When I resumed my trip, the problem did not occur again. After getting home, I searched the internet and found out that my Jeep suffered from what is called the "death wobble". Apparently, Jeep has known about the problem for years and has not corrected this dangerous and scary defect.

9 Body problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

Body: paint around door hinges is bubbling. Vehicle was purchased new in 2019, vehicle is not near salt water or driven in, harsh offroad conditions. Vehicle has been garaged daily since purchase and has 44,000 miles on it. Electrical: instrument cluster reboots and blanks out and speedometer stops working while driving. This vehicle was not included in previous recall #fca 30b, but the symptoms are identical to that recall. Vehicle has been taken to the dealer who has offered no insight as to what the problem may be. Dealer was shown a video of the problem happening while driving. The attached photo is taken from a video of the cluster while driving. Both the main battery and the auxiliary battery were replaced to see if that was an issue, it was not.

11 Body problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/12/2024

1. Corrosion which is a Jeep/mopar known issue - paint bubbles on the aluminum doors/hinges. No recall/fix. 2. Death wobble: also known as loosing control to steer the car. This is a huge issue with all stock and this has not been addressed yet. There are a lot of videos and cases out there to proof this case. 3. Coolant reservoir leak: recently there are 276 coolant reservoirs needed from mopar for this car configuration. Information provided by a Jeep/mopar parts service employee.

13 Body problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/29/2024

On 9/29/24 with the rear window removed and the top in a closed position while driving highway speeds, the driver side rear window of my vehicle, without warning, flew off and moments later the rear driver side support flew off. The side windows of the vehicle had previously never been removed. It was a shocking experience that left me quite shaken, yet out of control to mitigate. Fortunately, there were no vehicles immediately behind me taking the impact of flying car parts, however, had there been this could have been deadly. The dealership will not be able to fully access the vehicle until 10/16/24. Upon speaking to the service manager they will take a quick look at it today (9/30).

14 Body problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/23/2024

I had several safety concerns regarding the 2024 Jeep Wrangler that I purchased and subsequently traded in after only 31 days due to multiple issues that I believe may compromise vehicle safety. Upon purchasing the vehicle, I noticed that the front inner splash guards were loose. After the dealership, tyson’s motors in shorewood, IL, replaced both splash guards, I discovered that the front left splash guard had plugs that fell out, exposing critical hoses underneath. This issue raised immediate concerns about the potential for damage to these hoses and the vehicle's overall safety. In addition to the splash guard issue, I experienced further safety concerns, including screws from the inside speakers located between the front and rear seats falling off while driving, as well as a loose headlight pin. These problems not only posed a risk to my safety but also created an environment of uncertainty regarding the overall reliability of the vehicle. Due to these ongoing issues, I felt it necessary to trade in the Wrangler for an identical model, as I believed the original vehicle was possibly faulty. Unfortunately, the replacement vehicle caused me injury just two days later, which I have also reported to the NHTSA, dealership and Jeep. I believe these issues warrant serious attention and investigation to prevent potential safety hazards for other drivers, passengers, and those driving on the road.

15 Body problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/25/2024

Passenger side rear quarter window of soft top blew off while traveling on highway. Top was properly secured prior traveling with vehicle.

16 Body problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/19/2024

There is significant paint bubbling around all the door hinges and on the hood as well. This poses a concern because the areas are increasing in size as well as a safety issue as they’re around the door hinges. This Jeep was sold to us in sept 2022 with these issues. The defect is getting worse.

17 Body problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/18/2024

My soft top has never been unzipped, and the back plastic windshield has started to come apart. This causes water to get into my car when it rains. So much water got into my car from the exposed opening in the back window, my car jack actually rusted and cannot be used, so now I have no jack for my car. This opening also causes bugs to get in and lay eyes or make nests, putting me at potential risk to get stung. The water has also caused a build up of dirt on the back windshield, causing extreme difficulty to see out of the back windshield.

18 Body problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/15/2024

Corrosion around driver and passenger door hinges.

19 Body problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/13/2024

There is a water leak from the dash mirror that has not been repaired by the dealership 4 times that has been taken for the same issue. When it is raining, and vehicle is moving the water comes out of the mirror area and prevent a clear visibility in the traffic. It may damage the electrical connection that run by this area or and produces a metal corruption. . .

20 Body problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/04/2024

Issues with corrosion around door and hood hinges which risk weakening the structural strength of these panels. This issue is caused by the manufacturing process of using dissimilar metals and is a well documented issue with these vehicles.

21 Body problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

23 Body problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

My door and hood hinges are severely corroded; this is a known issue that has resulted in a TSB. However, dealers are unwilling/unable to complete the repair work due to the high volume warranty claims they receive related to this issue. My door hinges have corroded to the point that they’ve undoubtedly lost structural integrity.

24 Body problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/10/2023

Aluminum body and paint bubbling and showing corrosion on doors, hood, and hinges. I called Jeep but they are saying that the issue is only on the gladiator, which is not accurate. It's also on the Wrangler sport that I have, and they don't want to fix it. What do I do?.

25 Body problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/29/2023

Driving at 65 mph on the highway the hood latches failed and the hood blew back into the windshield, shattered the windshield, and made driving a safety issue. The safety latch also failed. Not able to see out the windshield due to the hood. Spoke with Jeep cares and they said the hood latches were not a warranty item. The dealer said it happens frequently that the latches break. I have pictures of the defective latches and filing an insurance claim this week. This is a factory defect that could cause serious injury or death if not fixed.

27 Body problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/23/2023

We noticed on 6/24/2023 a small crack and few other minor cracks and a paint chip appeared out of nowhere on the fiber-glass/composite hard roof top at the driver side rear edge above the gas tank of my Jeep Wrangler 2023 that I bought from your dealership. My vehicle details are as follows: make: Jeep model Wrangler sahara 4x4e year: 2023 color: white VIN #: 1c4jjxp64pw584334 purchase date: 05-14-2023 condition: brand new I have consulted with aaa insurance and the “classic collision of chatsworth” and platinum plus warranty plan and the insurance services and they all say that this particular crack and paint chip on the vehicle is not from any impact but mainly due to the manufacturing defect where the fiberglass is uneven (or air bubble in it) and defective, screws tightened too much and also clearly has tool marks and signs of excessive use of force that caused a big crack on the edge from inside and that is now propagating and spreading and showing paint chip and cracks on the outside of the removable rooftop/camper above the gas tank. This is the first time I opened the back trunk and saw this. Filed a manufacturer warranty claim at the dealership on 6/26/2023. Jeep denied the claim. I find this situation unacceptable as the fiberglass hard-top is cracking and falling apart and the crack is widening as we drive the vehicle. I need help as both the dealership and the manufacturer are not fixing the manufacturing defect and are using delaying tactics.

28 Body problem of the 2006 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/22/2023

The frame of this vehicle has deteriorated to the point of becoming a safety hazard. The frame has rusted through over 50% of the thickness (internally) and has broken through to the outside in several areas around where the suspension and transmission attach. I recognize that this is an older vehicle, but it has larger percentage of rust than other vehicles I have owned and I do not believe it should be this deteriorated. I believe there must have been a manufacturing defect in the design (water/dirt) can get trapped in the frame or the material used was of insufficient corrosion resistance. Component malfunction: frame structural integrity safety risk: drivetrain/suspension could detach from vehicle causing safety risk to occupant of vehicle or nearby pedestrians/vehicles/structures. Inspected by dealership: dealership did not mention it, probably because this is a 'known' issue that they don't have a fix for. (frame replacement is expensive) inspected by police: indiana does not require inspections. (no) warning lamps: no. Symptoms appeared in 2020, seem to have accelerated over the last two years/5000 miles.

29 Body problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/09/2023

Multiple areas of my Jeep are starting to rusting and corroding. Jeep knows there are issues and are doing nothing about it. Not only is it unsightly but rust also compromises the structural integrity of the body of the vehicle.

There is paint bubbling on all 4 doors near the hinges and bottom of the door, as well as the hood of the vehicle.

31 Body problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/08/2023

I made appointment with galena Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat, fort myers, FL for may 4, 2023 at 9 am to repair the frame stud defect (28a/NHTSA 23v-191) on this vehicle. After having received no communication from this dealer after 5 days, I went to pick up the vehicle the evening of may 8, 2023 and discovered no attempt to remedy this defect had been made. My plans are to drive this vehicle from FL to WI for the summer months later this week. Besides making you aware of this situation, I want to have it on the record that I attempted to have the defect remedied in the event it is involved in a motor vehicle accident and would catch fire.

32 Body problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/01/2023

There is a missing weld on the lower passenger rear control arm bracket that looks like a manufacture defect. I recently started hearing a clanging noise and brought it to the mechanic. I was not put at risk of safety (for the tie being). The problem has been confirmed and looked at only by a mechanic. There were no warning lights. How do I get the welding fixed? the dealer will not help me repair it.

33 Body problem of the 2004 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/01/2023

My Jeep's frame is rusted. There are holes and cracks in the frame from the rust. The Jeep will not pass my states safety inspection because of the rust. Parts of the suspension that are attached to the frame are about to fall off.

34 Body problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/01/2023

Paint peeling, bubbling. Has been happening for over 2 years. Doors and hinges and hood.

35 Body problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/20/2023

I noticed multiple of welds on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler's frame that have potential to catastrophically fail, including the front track bar bracket weld which was recalled for 2018 jl Wranglers. My local Jeep dealership (larry h miller Jeep in sandy utah), "inspected" the welds and said they were fine. However, they never had a welding inspector look at the welds, and when I brought this up with management I was kicked off of their property. I reached out to Chrysler customer service on 3/20/2023 and they said there was nothing they could/would do. This is a known problem in all Jeep jl Wranglers and I hope NHTSA will step in and force fca to buy back all jls with bad welds, before people start dying.
