My 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is under safety recall 68c / 25v-741. The recall instructs owners to stop charging the vehicle and to park away from structures due to fire risk. There is no remedy available. As a result, I cannot safely use the vehicle as intended. Stellantis financial services told me the only option is to pay off the lease to return it, which is unreasonable during an unresolved fire-risk safety recall. I am requesting NHTSA involvement because the manufacturer has not provided a remedy, loaner vehicle, or safe alternative transportation. I would like early lease termination with no penalties, and reimbursement of all payments made.
This vehicle has a serious recall (the car can start itself on fire) and there is no fix. The value of the car tanked, and nobody wants the vehicle. I dont feel safe in the vehicle, but I am stuck in it due to unfixable recall and dealerships being unwilling to trade for it.

The vehicle is affected by two unresolved safety recalls involving a high-voltage battery fire risk and potential engine contamination that may cause sudden loss of propulsion or catastrophic engine failure. The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it away from structures or other vehicles due to the fire hazard. No repair or remedy is currently available for either recall, and the vehicle remains in this unsafe condition. In addition to the recall issues, the vehicle has an ongoing electrical malfunction involving the infotainment display and backup camera. During normal driving, the screen frequently turns bright green, emits a loud screeching noise, and cannot be muted or controlled. The screen and backup camera also freeze intermittently while reversing, creating visibility and distraction hazards. This issue has occurred repeatedly over the past year. The problems place the safety of the occupants and the public at risk. The inability to charge the vehicle, the possibility of sudden engine failure, and the risk of fire make the vehicle unsafe to operate or park near homes, workplaces, or other vehicles. The infotainment and camera failures also impair navigation and rear visibility. The problems have been reported to the dealer, who previously acknowledged the infotainment issue and indicated the system would be replaced, but no repair was completed. Recent attempts to obtain service or a loaner vehicle have been unsuccessful. The dealer has confirmed that no remedy is available for the safety recalls. Warning symptoms include sudden screen discoloration, loud audio distortion, frozen rear-camera image, and intermittent loss of display functions. The recall-related safety hazards occur without warning. The issues have resulted in significant loss of use of the vehicle, and the manufacturer has not provided a timeline for repairs. The vehicle is available for inspection at any time.

There is a major safety recall on the vehicle. It is warning customers to park away from other vehicles and structures. I park in a garage every night and also park in a large, busy parking lot every day at work. This recall is affecting the features of my vehicle. I am not able to use the hybrid which is the main reason I purchased the vehicle. I am also getting horrific gas mileage which is creating a major expense in my life that I did not have before. I have not received anything about this recall on my vehicle. I have had to do my own research which is pure negligence by stellantis. I have looked into trading my vehicle in but because of this recall, it has devalued my vehicle majorly. I cannot even afford to get rid of it. I have yet to receive any notification or warning about this recall. This is incredibly unsafe for customers to be driving these vehicles with supposedly no fix.
I have experienced at least five times in which my vehicle does not start and a "service charging system" error message shows on the dash resulting in the vehicle having to be towed to newport Jeep in middletown ri for service. Every recall that has been issue has been "fixed"- my hybrid battery has been replaced, my high voltage wire has been replaced. I tried to pursue a buyback request and was rejected in March 2025. I am aware of the 68c safety recall and that there is no repair at this time. Again on 12/9/25 my vehicle would not start, the "service charging system" error message was on the dash and my vehicle has had to be towed back to the dealership. They are not able to diagnose the issue. I want to pursue a buyback as this vehicle is defective and unsafe.

"vehicle is subject to recall 68c (fire risk). Manufacturer states remedy is 'not yet available. ' I am instructed not to charge the battery and to park away from structures. I cannot safely park the vehicle at my home or use the electric propulsion I am paying for. The vehicle presents an immediate fire hazard while parked. ".
I received the recall of my leased vehicle and I immediately called Chrysler stelantis and was told that there was nothing they could do. This recall materially restricts the safe use of my leased vehicle. I request early termination of my lease without penalty or a replacement vehicle. I am a 100% disabled veteran and cannot comply with the recall’s conditions they stated that they will take back my lease but I will be penalized for the early termination and also for any recoupment of the vehicle when it goes to auction. This is unacceptable and has placed myself, my family,, my residence and other vehicles in danger. I cannot abide by the recall.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that the recall was the second recall that was associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not contacted regarding the unrepaired recall. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Jeep has issues two safety recalls 68c and 78c . 78c says that engine can be stopped anytime during driving on highway. But they are not fixing it. Battery issue 68c is going on last four years. Where is the accountability? how can they sell a new vehicle in 2024 when they already knew that it had a defective battery ?.
The Jeep has been to the dealer at least 5 times for issues with the hybrid system. Problems include low battery life, vehicle going into "limp mode" on the interstate, unable to get the vehicle over 25mph, warning lights on the instrument panel about the battery, heat and cooling system shutting off to divert coolant to the battery system due to overheating, bad odors similar to wires burning or electric motors running hot.
I am filing this complaint because my vehicle is subject to recall 68c (battery fire risk), and the manufacturer's remedy is inadequate, subjecting me to ongoing risk. Immediate safety compliance failure: I cannot safely comply with the required "park away from structures" directive due to my current living situation. Inadequate remedy concern: the proposed fix for 68c is software-based. This is insufficient because the previous software fix (recall 95b for earlier models) failed, leading to continued fires. I demand that NHTSA investigate and mandate a permanent, physical solution (a new battery with a corrected cell design) for recall 68c, not another potentially ineffective software monitor. Financial harm: I am also incurring significant, unplanned financial damage (increased fuel costs, paid fpl charging fees) due to the manufacturer-imposed loss of the vehicle's electric functionality. This must be addressed as part of the recall solution.
I am filing this complaint regarding the serious safety hazard associated with the fire-risk recall on my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The official manufacturer recall letter states: “the high-voltage battery may become damaged under normal operation which could lead to a vehicle fire. ” the recall instructions also direct me fully discharge the high-voltage battery not charge the vehicle park the vehicle away from all structures because of the fire risk this indicates that the vehicle may spontaneously catch fire even when driven or stored as intended. I currently cannot safely store or use this vehicle at my residence. I am a 100% permanently and totally disabled marine corps veteran with ptsd, and this fire hazard and the required parking instructions significantly worsen my medical condition. There is no available remedy or repair at this time. I am requesting that NHTSA document this hazard, investigate stellantis’ handling of this recall, and ensure owner protection given the severity of the fire risk and lack of resolution.
I have several issues. 1. An independent auto shop noticed all 4 of my shocks were leaking when they did an oils change and tire rotation recently. I have had my other oil changes and rotations at the dealership prior to this and they never mentioned it. I’ve tried calling my dealership svc dept. About it 4 times now with no call backs. 2. The new tires that came with my Jeep from the factory only lasted about half their treadwear. I had to replace prematurely at 30,000 miles bc they were causing a “deathwobble” on my Jeep at speeds of 60-70mph and they were also messing with my alignment which I paid the dealer to try to fix but they’ll couldn’t bc it turns out it was the tires the whole time but they’ll couldn’t bc couldn’t figure this out. The independent tire shop figured it out. 3. This is the most worrisome they just sent me another recall about the high voltage battery pack being dangerous and poasibly catching fire. It says not to charge it or park it near structures. This is the 2nd or 3rd recall of this sort and it’s not allowing me to use the electric features on my vehicle which I paid extra for when I bought it and I pay yearly for with insurance and taxes. . I need compensation or a vehicle exchange or a buyback so that I can use my vehicle as it is intended to be used. This is a clear violation of that. Please help me!.
I was told I can’t charge the vehicle and not to park in my driveway or garage or near trees as it might catch fire or also suddenly turn off while driving.
Vehicle has had two battery failure recalls and one engine failure recall in the 18 months that I’ve owned it. I can’t park the car inside. I can’t charge it and now the engine may catch fire. Stellantis/mopar has no remediation for either problem.
My vehicle, a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN [xxx] ), is under recall stating: “a vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury. ” “owners are advised to refrain from recharging. ” “owners… are advised to park away from structures. ” “the remedy… is not currently available. ” vehicle also has front-end instability at 65+ mph. I notice it starting to vibrate/wobble. Dealership will not provide a loaner until a remedy has been identified leaving my family in a very unsafe, potential life threatening position. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My 2020 Jeep Wrangler just had its center instrument cluster go dark. This seems to be a known issue, and I believe there is a recall for 2024 models. The recall needs to be expanded as far back as the issue is being reported. This is dangerous situation with not being able to see the gas gauge, milage and additional critical information. To make matters even more unmanageable because the Jeep needs to have the exact mileage known before replacing the instrument cluster the recommendation is to drop your car off at the dealer and not drive it until the part is replaced. Because this is such a large issue the current lead-time is 5 months to get a replacement part in. No one should be expected to leave their Jeep at a dealership for 5 months. Our Jeep dealer actually recommended getting an after-market replacement. I am reporting this to add my voice to many others who have experienced this same issue. I am also sure this is probably way under reported. Anything you can do to extend this recall back to at least 2020 would be greatly appreciated.

We are contacting you today because our 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe started to exhibit some concerning issues: on a fully charged battery, our Jeep started normally in hybrid mode. After 10-15 miles (down to 51% battery capacity), power switched to internal combustion engine (engine) after parking, upon restart and re-restart, various malfunctions appeared on dashboard: - straight to engine power (engine noise), not on electric power (even when still in hybrid mode) - "service charging system” alert - engine light on - plug light on - battery light on - "blind spot service unavailable, service required” - on right dial showing “power" and “charge", abnormal (?) temporary swing down towards “charge" - ac not working (no warning, no alert) - battery still showing 51% after parking, when attempting to charge: - charging lights start off normally but stop (?) after 30 seconds, and - “service charging system” flashes back on - engine light on, plug light on, etc - ac still not working -the Jeep is now not accelerating normally and seems to lack power -breaking is unresponsive or lagging please note, our vehicle was recalled under 95b and was serviced by kendall Jeep on July 25, 2025 for 1895b182 reprogram bpcm and complete drive cycle reoutine. We were told the software update was successful. We have made an appointment with kendall Jeep to drop our Jeep off on December 8, 2025. We are concerned that our vehicle is unsafe to drive and that mopar has not provided a fix for this continuing issue. We included a pic of our dashboard and warnings.
Three active recalls on this vehicle currently and have not had the vehicle a full calendar year yet. Two pertaining to fire-risk recall which can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside vehicle. The recall instructions state there is an issue with battery and engine which can cause fire. The recall instructions state to not charge the vehicle nor park in garage and to park it outside away from buildings due to risk of thermal runway. The engine may contact materials which can also cause fire. Because of this, the vehicle is not safe to drive. My dealership (Jeep, Dodge, ram, Chrysler in englewood cliffs, new jersey) as well as Jeep has refused to provide a loaner vehicle or transportation assistance free of charge. They informed me I must pay out of pocket for a rental while the recall remedy is being developed causing me to pay for 2 vehicles at the same. There is currently no remedy for this issue and no timeframe of when it will be available. Stellantis has not provided any support despite the safety hazard and the fact that I cannot safely use this vehicle. This leaves me without transportation during a federally mandated safety recall involving a fire risk. I am requesting NHTSA review this issue and contact the involved parties to ensure proper handling of the recall and consumer safety. Thank you,.
I have been waiting on a replacement abs module for months , was told I could continue to drive the Jeep by a Jeep dealership, the part is on back order and no plans to put in productions; my shop can see that there is ove500 people waiting on this part that effects the operation of the safety features designed on 11/29 my Jeep would stopped abruptly in traffic and would not go forward or reverse just stuck - lucky I was not hit in the rear or causing a major accident, after turning on /off I was able to go 100 yards to get it out of traffic, and needed a tow . Sitting at dealership - Jeep payment , no Jeep and no answers - along with many other people driving Jeeps on the road today . -this may of caused other issues to my Jeep as well.

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has two serious safety recalls: a7c and 68c. Recall a7c states the vehicle may lose propulsion while driving, which can cause a crash without warning. Recall 68c states the high-voltage battery may be damaged during normal use and may cause a vehicle fire. Jeep instructs owners to not charge the vehicle and to park away from structures. The manufacturer states that no remedy is available for either recall. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive, unsafe to park at home, and unusable as designed. The manufacturer has provided no timeline for repair. This is an unresolved, dangerous safety hazard.
Vehicle stops driving ; states to put in park and restart - recently happened while at airport picking up family ; called Jeep, stellanis, dealership - no help - active recall - requested buy back - crickets since. ; had happened as well in past - at dealership for 3 days - was told corrected. Still happening.
I am filing a safety complaint regarding my leased 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, VIN 1c4rjxu69rw216368, manufactured by Jeep, leased through stellantis. This vehicle is under an active recall for a battery-related fire risk. I have been informed by the dealership and the manufacturer that no repair or fix is currently available, potentially until next year. Despite this, the oem states the vehicle is “safe to drive” while also instructing me not to park the vehicle indoors, near other vehicles, or near structures due to the risk of fire. This guidance is contradictory and makes normal use of the vehicle unsafe and impractical. I must drive to work and park near other vehicles and buildings, which the manufacturer says not to do. In addition, the vehicle also has an unresolved airbag recall with no fix available. The vehicle is leased, yet I have been told I cannot exchange the vehicle or exit the lease without paying the full remaining term, even though the vehicle cannot be safely used as intended and has no available remedy. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether a vehicle that may catch fire and cannot be safely parked should be considered safe to operate, and whether interim consumer protections or remedies should be required when no repair exists.
Recieved 2 recall notices in the mail. Recall 78c and 68c. Recall 78c safety risk : "a vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage. A loss of propulsion may result in a vehicle crash without prior warning". There is still no remedy for this as per my call with the dealer on 11/25/25. Recall 68c safety risk: "a vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners are advised to refrain from recharging. Out of an abundance of caution, fca us is also advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained. " no parts available for remedy as per my call with the dealer on 11/25/25 both of these recalls pose a risk to my wife and children that utilize the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact noticed an abnormal burning odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failure related to the battery. The contact was informed that the unknown part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the burning odor was still present; however, the burning odor was intermittent. The contact stated that the burning odor was like the smell of a burning firecracker. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the contact was informed that parts were not yet available. The contact was referred to an online site, which advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA hotline. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
I'm worried about my safety, with the risk of my car catching fire, there's a problem in the electric motor and battery, potentially two units that can catch fire and harm me, just as I can't fully use the car due to restrictions and lack of a solution from the manufacturer, just as it happened on older models, I'm not sure that this time they really find it.
I was driving on a major 3-lane highway and lost all power to the Jeep. The gas pedal did not work, and the car started to decelerate. The display said "shit to park and press button to start" (or something to that effect). There was no left lane shoulder, so I had to navigate across 3 lanes of traffic while decelerating to try to get to the right lane shoulder, which I eventually did. The car sat on the shoulder for an hour. It would start. The start button did nothing. While waiting for the tow truck for about an hour, it finally started. I drove it home and brought to the shop today. This is completely unacceptable. The car cannot turn off (and tell me to put it into park at 55 mph, which is dangerous in and of itself, let alone having to navigate a busy highway with zero power to the car). There was no crash (as is asked below), but it was nothing short of a miracle that there was no accident.
. I am submitting this complaint regarding the handling of two safety recalls affecting my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4-door 4xe, which I learned about through my “November vehicle health report” email on November 22, 2025. Since then, I have been in ongoing communication with Jeep, Chrysler customer care, and mopar; however, they have not provided sufficient guidance. 1) recall 68c: the vehicle health report included a link to the fca recall notice advising owners to “refrain from recharging” and to “park away from structures and other vehicles. ” Chrysler emailed on November 26 offering a 30-day rental reimbursement tied only to recall 68c, but the amount does not cover an equivalent or safe winter-capable vehicle for our region. 2) recall 78c: I have been unable to obtain clear information regarding recall 78c. The vehicle health report included minimal details and no link to the fca documentation. I found the part 573 safety recall report (25v766) on the NHTSA website while trying to determine if the vehicle was safe to drive. Chrysler customer care repeatedly avoids answering whether a “do not drive” advisory exists for 78c and continually redirects me to the 68c guidance. The NHTSA representative I spoke with was also unsure why Chrysler did not select either advisory checkbox (do not drive / park outside) on page 3 of the 78c report, leaving owners without essential guidance. 3) impact on safety and daily life: my household relies on a single vehicle. With no safety guidance for 78c and an engine warning light that appeared on October 3, 2025—along with electric mode not functioning that day, which required service at the Jeep dealership—we determined it was safest not to drive the vehicle. We have now been without transportation for seven days. We kindly ask NHTSA to help us (and other customers) secure clear 78c safety guidance and an equivalent transportation solution until the recall is resolved.
Cluster went dark. No way of seeing gauges moving, no speed info, nothing. Jeep runs but dash is dark.
While driving car, instrument cluster went blank. It does not display important vehicle information like speed.
Unknown.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The check engine warning light was intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where a fault code related to the gas cap was cleared. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
My Jeep Wrangler 4xe displayed a ‘service charging system’ warning immediately after unplugging from charging. I began to drive and noticed the warning right away. I then parked and attempted to restart the vehicle, but it would not start and became completely inoperable. The vehicle had to be towed. The dealer confirmed this issue is related to the current hybrid safety recall, but stellantis has stated that no repair is available, and it may not be available until the end of the year or the first quarter of next year. The vehicle is undrivable, and I cannot safely use or move it. Stellantis is only offering reimbursement for a rental, which I cannot access because I cannot afford to pay for a rental vehicle upfront. Reimbursement for what could be an unlimited or months-long period of rental fees is not a reasonable or accessible remedy. This leaves me without any safe or practical transportation option. I have now been without transportation for over 48 hours, and the manufacturer is not providing a reasonable remedy or safe transportation while the recall repair remains unavailable. I am filing this complaint so NHTSA can document the delay, the lack of an accessible remedy, and the manufacturer’s failure to provide a safe, timely solution for an undrivable recall-affected vehicle. The vehicle is undrivable and I cannot safely park or use it. Stellantis is only offering reimbursement for a rental, which I cannot access because I cannot afford to rent a vehicle upfront.
