The vehicle has an issue where when it is off and the key is nowhere near it. It turns on and makes strange noises. I have video footage of it that has been sent to the dealership and they were not able to duplicate it after a very short period of time at the dealership I’ve since had the same issue numerous times as well as the battery has since died as well. I’ve had other issues happen where the vehicle has died with no warning, and I lost all power. The vehicle often times overheats where if you touched the vehicle in certain spots, it’s burning hot. The electrical system seems to have faulty in it as things like the temperature are never accurate and seem to have issues with glitching that has not been able to be duplicated although I have video proof of that as well. Considering all of the safety recalls that have never been remedied like the battery fires. There is no actual remedy that’s been done. All they do is scan the batteries currently to see if there are current issues happening, but there have been fires that have happened to people’s vehicle since with all of the issues that I’ve had with my vehicle with it powering on when the keys are nowhere near it. It’s very scary to have a vehicle that can catch fire with all of the electrical issues currently has that have never been corrected.

The instrument cluster went black when I was driving. This prevents the driver from seeing warning lights, digital speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer. The car was examined by my private mechanic, and he stated he could not fix it. He advised me to go to the Jeep dealership. The car was then examined by the dealership, and they stated it would need a new instrument cluster at a cost of $1600, and I was charged $250 for the diagnostic. I then researched the issue and learned that Jeep has issued 2 recalls for this exact problem which included the make, model and year of my unit. The recall dates were September 2024 and April 2026. I called Jeep's help center and they stated my particular vehicle is not eligible for the recall because of where it was made. I feel this is not a valid reason and they should honor the recall for my vehicle.

Went to start the Jeep and the entire dash cluster was out. I had just gotten it serviced 2 days before it went out and there was no warning or indication that the cluster panel was damaged. Due to this issue I’m unable to see any speed, gas levels, signaling, oil level and any other signal indicators from the dash. This is extremely problematic and renders the vehicle unsafe to drive. It was inspected by the dealership and another mechanic and both parties confirmed the dash cluster was broken and needed to be replaced and that several other 2019-2020 Jeep Wranglers had been brought in with the same problem.

With the recent completion of recalls 68&78c , and a new hv battery, appears to me, thatjeep has changed the software for the throttle response when in electric mode. The result creates a safety hazard as you lose pedal response and power when the battery reaches below 35% or about 9 miles remaining. On the highway the Jeep loses all power and will not accelerate over 62 mph. And the same around town when you need that extra umph, the pedal becomes dead. More scary when you’re on the highway!! the result? since the electric power output is unavailable, you have to mash the pedal to the flow to kick it out of electric mode. But this is also unsafe as now you start the engine (often cold as I was running electric mode) and you smash the rpm’s over 6k to launch the gas engine (that can’t be good for the engine long term) . Before battery replacement and recall software updates, this process was very smooth and occurred with 5% or less battery life. This had occurred a few times and could probably reproduce it when this scenario is present.

Instrument cluster went out a month ago on daughter’s Jeep. Part has been backordered for a month & now pushed out again by a week. Daughter was driving this am to school and the Jeep quick on her on a busy rd and put her at risk to wreck or get hit.
On 4/28/26, my 2020 Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited suffered a catastrophic high-voltage system failure, causing the vehicle to completely shut off at highway speeds on a live road. Stuck on the highway for nearly 3 hours at around rush hour blocking one lane of traffic. The dealership (ourisman Jeep) diagnosed a failed 48v hybrid power pack unit (part #68381513aa) under star order #9575**. This sudden loss of power on the highway is a severe safety defect, and the manufacturer is refusing to cover the $3,327. 94 repair or the resulting 3-week rental vehicle loss of use. ".
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? after diagnostics of multiple 'no communication' codes, it was determined that the can buss star connector was faulty. The part has been replaced, but is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the malfunction caused repeated warning lights and loss of steering at unpredictable times. Luckily I was always able to put on my hazard lights and get out of the path of traffic. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes, a variety of warning lamps and messages over a period of 10-12 days, which would disappear after restarting the vehicle (restarting was necessary to get the steering working again). Messages such as traction control, auto on/off, and check engine light were a few different ones. They came and went so quickly it was hard to catch them all while I was focused on getting safely off the road.
Jeep engine stopped running while driving on high way 20. Had to coast to stop in middle of side street. Jeep did start back up but would not go into drive until an hour of trying to get it into gear. Drove it home. Next morning I started Jeep but would not go into drive. It was stuck in park.
On 04/24/26 my 2022 Jeep 4xe with out any warning exploded in my driveway endangering my family and people in my neighborhood. Police and fire were call and the vehicle was extinguished. No injuries occurred to anyone but toxic gas and exploding glass were blast through the neighborhood. If anyone had been any where around the car they would have been seriously injured. The fire department initial assessment was that the ev battery exploded. The battery on my Jeep was replaced along with other recall parts previously by our local Jeep dealership. The Jeep was charged approximately 20min before explosion occurred but was unplugged at the time of explosion. My insurance company has possession of the vehicle at this time conducting its investigation. Video was captured of the incident from 2 different cameras. I am submitting this to hopefully make other 4xe owners aware of the situation even after we thought our recalls were taken care of. Please contact for further information.

On April 17th 2024 my vehicle received a recall update 68c regarding the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle battery. Two days later, I was driving on a major freeway in southern California, noticed that the ev battery was not being depleted as it remained at 100%. Shortly thereafter, a check engine light came on, and the power was severely restricted. Within a few minutes, the vehicle completely lost power in the middle of the freeway and I was able to get over to the right shoulder. At this point, the vehicle had no power and I could not turn the vehicle off either regarding the electronics. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership in san diego, and by the time it was at the dealership, the vehicle was in full lockout mode and had zero battery power left and could not even lock the doors. This caused a significant safety hazard as I was with my [xxx] child and the vehicle just completely lost power on the freeway. The vehicle is now at the dealership and they are giving me a very hard time saying that there is nothing wrong with it, but I have read that there have been many problems with this recall update. The dealership told me that the problem was a bad 12 v battery and that I needed to pay to replace that and I argued with them that that was not the problem and they are not addressing the major issue with a complete power loss on the freeway after a required software update that has known problems. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
While driving approximately 35 mph on a 4 lane major roadway, the vehicle suddenly shut off in motion, resulting in a complete loss of power. This included loss of power steering and the abs system. The vehicle effectively locked up, and a message appeared on the display instructing me to place the vehicle in park. As a result of the shutdown, the vehicle lost all propulsion and came to a complete stop in an active travel lane of a high-speed roadway. There was no ability to maneuver the vehicle out of traffic. I could not steer it to safety, restart it, or shift it into neutral. The vehicle was fully immobilized in the roadway. This left me and my family stopped in an active lane of traffic, exposed to oncoming vehicles traveling at highway speeds, creating an immediate and serious risk of collision. At the time of the incident, I had two children in the vehicle. We remained in this dangerous position until police arrived and an hour after. The vehicle ultimately had to be removed from the roadway with assistance, as it was not operable. During the event, there was a total loss of electrical power. The critical safety systems, including brake lights, were not functioning during the shutdown. After attempting to reset the battery, the vehicle continued to malfunction. It would not properly turn on or off, wouldn't shift into neutral and remained unable to be moved. This is the third occurrence of this; once was while driving at highway speeds. All warning lights, including the battery light, were illuminated. The vehicle is subject to an active recall; however, I have been informed that there is currently no available remedy . Despite this, the dealership and stellantis advised that the vehicle was safe to operate. Given the repeated loss of power while driving, the inability to move the vehicle out of an active roadway, and the absence of an available repair, this vehicle presents a serious safety risk and I should be able to turn this vehicle in with refund.
I was driving my 2019 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara 2. 0t/at to the gym with my spouse. No check engine light, Jeep temps were perfect. All gauges operated as it should, so there was no sign of trouble. The vehicle was off. We parked and walked into the gym and then into the 1 set of exercises, someone yelled in the gym that someone's truck was on fire. We ran outside and lo and behold it was our Jeep. The engine compartment was totally destroyed. Please look at the pictures for reference.
Instrument cluster digital screen went blank. Came on next time vehicle was started and then went blank again and didn’t come back on, no longer displaying warnings, fuel level, etc.
2024 Wrangler rhd. After being parked overnight pushing the start button clicks once as if the battery is weak. A second push of the start button the Jeep starts normally. Also, the clock resets itself 4 hours ahead. The hvac temperature resets itself to 72 degrees regardless of where it was when parked. When shifting into reverse the backup camera displays a blue screen. Dealership is going to ensure software is current and check the battery. This is an ongoing issue.
Subject urgent complaint – recall repair delay for 2022 Jeep Wrangler I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of a recall repair for my 2022 Jeep Wrangler, specifically involving the electric battery system that powers the vehicle’s electric motor. While I understand the importance of safety recalls, the excessive delay in completing this repair has become unacceptable. My vehicle has been unavailable for an extended period, and I have not received a clear or reliable timeline for when the repair will be completed. This situation has caused significant disruption to my life. As a rideshare driver and professional traveling musician, dependable transportation is critical to my income. The delay has directly impacted my ability to work and earn a living. Furthermore, it has negatively affected my family life and overall quality of life due to limited mobility. I am requesting immediate action to address this matter, including: an expedited resolution and firm completion date for the recall repair a loaner vehicle or reimbursement for alternative transportation during the repair period, consideration of financial compensation for lost income and inconvenience caused by this delay. I have made every effort to comply with recall procedures, and I expect the same level of responsibility and urgency from stellantis/Chrysler. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will continue to escalate the matter through appropriate consumer protection channels. I look forward to your immediate response and a satisfactory resolution. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] VIN: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Numerous lights flash on dash-engine fan turns on high speed, coolant temp stops reading, check engine light comes on, unable to accelerate. Pull over but will not turn off. From what I’m reading it’s the can bus module and from what I’m finding on this site Jeep has many electrical failures but can’t fix it? Jeep should do what’s right and stand behind its product.
I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with 180,000 miles. I never off road the vehicle, but after driving on a dirt road, the stability control kicked in during a turn. At the start of the next drive after that, there were 3 lights on the dashboard: brake, abs, stability control. Connecting the jscan app to the vehicle, the abs module is completely unresponsive and the vehicle gives a c2200 error code. There were no symptoms of this issue before this event. This vehicle is available to be inspected any time. Lack of abs is a very dangerous safety concern, as neither of my children have ever had to drive a vehicle without abs. After some research, this seems to be a very common problem. After some age and heat cycles, the electronics in the module become weak, and my single use of the stability control apparently is enough to push the weak electronics over the edge and destroy the module. This has been confirmed through several companies who repair these modules, such as [xxx] , who no longer repairs these modules, apparently because the computer chips are no longer made, and I have heard stories about the chip maker going out of business during covid. It was also confirmed by a local Jeep specialist, and the dealer parts department also tells the same story, people have been waiting on this module for over 2 years now. A manufacturer of this size with this many vehicles affected by such a safety issue should step up and commission another chip manufacturer to make these vehicles road worthy again. The primary component involved is the high-voltage charging system, specifically the charging port and connector interface. The vehicle previously experienced a confirmed failure involving a scorched charging port and a melted pin, which required replacement. The same symptoms have since returned, including heat at the charging interface and a burning odor. The vehicle is currently located at an authorized dealership and is available for inspection upon request. This condition presents a safety risk due to the potential for electrical overheating and possible fire hazard. In addition, the vehicle has experienced repeated loss of power while driving, which creates a risk in traffic conditions and could impact driver control and safety. The issue has been previously confirmed by the dealership, which replaced the charging port due to thermal damage. However, upon recurrence of similar symptoms, the dealership has refused to diagnose or service the vehicle, preventing further confirmation at this time. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on multiple occasions for related issues, including the prior charging system failure. The manufacturer has not directly inspected the vehicle but has been contacted for assistance. Prior to the charging system failure, symptoms included heat at the charging connector and a burning odor. The vehicle has also exhibited electrical system irregularities and repeated loss of power while driving beginning after recall-related service in or around August 2024.
The cam bus connector also known as the green star box behind the glove box was defective. I would drive 32-35 miles and my dashboard would light up with 17 codes, abs, 4wd, steering, anti skid, my speed would disappear as well as my mph into three dashes, my check engine light would eliminate as well as service 4wd, pull over to a safe location vechile disabled as the entire Jeep slammed itself into park. I can’t imagine what would have happened to me if I didn’t get this resolved and I was going to work driving on the highway doing 55 and this happened and the vehicle slammed itself into park. I would not be here today to tell my story and potentially save other lives as I’m sure this is a known recall and or should be! I called Jeep and was notified that this is a known recall but my VIN was listed for the recall. So here I am in hopes to get this resolved for all Jeeps out there to get this addressed. I would also like to be reimbursed for the parts and labor getting this fixed. I have the video footage of this happening as well and a pic of the cam bus fuse connector showing the burnt electrical components. This will not let me upload a video only photos. . The video is very important in this case and I feel you should have it for this, if so please email me or contact me and I can send it.
One day out of the blue, my Jeep Wrangler received a "service shifter" error code. The error code threw about 40 other codes at the same time. Loss of power steering, loss of abs, engine kept revving on its own, windshield wipers turned on. While in park it felt as if it was trying to shift itself into other gears. Loss of steering while driving as well as the engine revving up and down while on the interstate. Every warning light came on and stayed on. I can let it sit for awhile and it'll drive fine for a little while until it does it all again and again. I have not taken it to a dealership yet due to all the threads on being charged $2000 and it not get fixed.
I was involved in a collision. The front driver's side hit another car, causing a lot of damage. The surprise was the fire. There is no reason for it to have caught for the way it did. The door was jammed, so resorted to unhooking the soft top, while I caught fire. I opened the top and jumped off the top, crawling away with burns and cuts before the entire engine exploded. I could have still been in that car, and I don't think I would have made it.
The electronic part of the dash stopped working. This has been an issue on many Jeeps of this year with no recall to get it repaired.
Bought used in 2026. Twice the car lost power while driving. A turtle warning light shows. Taken to Jeep dealer for repairs twice. We stopped using the electric function of the car.
Shortly after my second time getting the battery looked at for the 4xe recall my vehicle was very sluggish from a stopped position with the pedal fully pressed. After 5-10 seconds the vehicle lunges forward aggressively as it goes from electric to gas mode.
Parked my 2023 Wrangler 4xe for about three hours. When I started driving again the brake pedal was hard and it took way longer than normal to stop. No warning lights, no codes on the obd reader. Toggling max regen on and off made no difference. Power cycling the vehicle didn’t fix it. Pads are warm so the calipers are engaging, but there’s very little stopping force behind them. I would guess there is an electrical issue with the regenerative breaking system or brake vacuum.
I have owned my 2020 Jeep Wrangler since it was brand new. The middle instrument cluster panel (where it shows miles, fuel gauge, etc) quit working. I have checked fuses, disconnected the battery overnight, and disconnected the auxiliary battery and the instrument cluster is still not working. There is an established recall (30b) for 2018-2024 Jeep Wranglers for the instrument cluster failing but it doesn't appear my VIN is included. Checking Jeep forums, it appears to be a common issue, but an expensive one to fix.
A recall repair was completed in 2023 related to an overheating warning. Recently, the same issue has returned. The engine cooling fan runs at a very high speed for several minutes and then shuts off, even when the vehicle is cold or operating under normal conditions. An overheating warning message appeared briefly while driving, but the temperature gauge remained within the normal range. This suggests the engine may not actually be overheating and that the issue may be related to a faulty sensor, electrical system, or control module. The problem has not yet been fully diagnosed by a dealer due to diagnostic costs, but the symptoms are consistent with the original issue that led to the recall repair. This condition could pose a safety risk because the driver may receive inaccurate overheating warnings or may not be alerted if a real overheating condition occurs. The issue is intermittent and has occurred both while driving and when the vehicle is stationary. Attempts were made to contact the manufacturer to report this as a repeat issue after a recall repair, but no resolution was provided and a formal case was not successfully established.
After the 68c recall the power of the electric drive is limited. Frequent power loss occurs on highway driving during acceleration (merging onto highway or passing other cars). Despite the battery being charged up to 50% there is only 25% power available. The car is a plug in hybrid vehicle. The internal combustion engine states in these cases with several seconds delay. During that time the car does not accelerate sufficiently to safely merge onto a highway or pass other cars. The power loss happens without warning during critical drive situations like merging onto a highway or passing other cars. The driver expects a continuous level of power by the car, not a sudden power loss. This is reported by countless other drivers on all social media platform as a consequence of the 68c recall that affects 350 000 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and grand cherokee 4xe. Jeep does not respond to customer complaints or requests for clarification.
My daughter was driving the 2020 Jeep Wrangler we bought her & the instructor cluster panel went blank. We have had the vehicle less than 1yr & it has only 38,000 miles on it. There is a established recall (30b) for 2018-2024 Jeep Wranglers for the instrument cluster failing but for some reason our VIN is not included? can you help with coverage for this?.
The issues lies in the hybrid systems electric only function. When climbing grades, the vehicle experiences severe power loss which can be felt by the driver and is displayed by the vehicle on the dashboard information cluster. Power output from the hybrid system drops to or below 50% output even when pressing the accelerator to maximum. This issue occurs almost every time climbing a steep grade regardless of exterior temps. After losing speed and power on a steep grade while working the accelerator to or near maximum application the engine is activated abruptly without warning and without the proper hybrid warm up sequence and causes startling shifting by the powertrain and jerks the vehicle. This behavior began after recall 68c was performed and hybrid battery replacement.
