Randomly the Jeep will completely go crazy. The windshield wipers with fluid run, blinkers, horn, and ----> the engine shuts off while driving at any speed. I lose power steering and power brakes at the same time. This is seriously dangerous. I called the local Jeep dealer and they told me to call Chrysler. I did some research in Jeep forums online and found this is a very common problem with the Jeep Wranglers from 2007 forward. Jeep has a recall for the most recent models, but no recall for the previous years to include mine. I'm really confused how this happens to so many Jeep Wranglers around my year, but there are no recalls. This is a significant safety issue for the vehicle occupants and definitely for other vehicles around.

Driving down the road at 40 mph when all of a sudden complete power loss including brakes, steering, almost causing an accident. Horn started constantly going, front and rear wipers going. Turned key off and removed, but everything was still going like a possessed car. Had to disconnect the battery to get everything to shut off. Mechanic has told me it is likely a failure of the car's tipm, which seems to be a persistent problem with Jeeps and other Chrysler vehicles. Called fca and they won't stsand behind their product, saying it's not asn issue.
Steering wheel controls stopped working which also included the ability to use the horn. The air bag light also came on making the air bag system non operating. Is not a fuse issue. Something is faulty within the steering system and clock spring. Was driving down the road and the air bag light came on without any form of collision taking place. Tried using horn to see if it worked and no sound. Tried using radio controls none work. Tried using cruise control nothing worked. I have turned the Jeep steering wheel every way and nothing works. Turned it off and on still nothing working. Disconnected battery and then connected it back up. Still not working. Checked all fuses by dealer no issues. Factory equipment no modifications made still not working. Unsafe environment made by this malfunction within Jeep Wrangler.
The vehicle will not shut off. Drove it into the carport turned off the ignition and the vehicle would not stop running, even with the key turned off and removed from the ignition. . . All gauges were randomly turning on and off, and the horn was intermittently blaring. The vehicle was stationary at the time.

The horn stopped working, to my knowledge since we never had to use it until11/8/18, the day we had to escape the camp fire. Maybe it never worked! is this a recalled issue? in motion city street.

The lights intermittently turn on and off either stationary or while driving. The blower motor, flashers, interior lights, horn, and the wipers come on and off intermittently either stationary or while driving. Either the battery needs to be disconnected or the fuse box under the hood needs to be jiggled before it would stop. Scheduled to go in the shop Friday for the repair. Oddly enough the dealership has never heard of this problem. This will cause a serious accident or worse if this issue is not resolved.
When pressing the unlock button from the key transmitter, the lights, horn, wipers and windshield washer fluid all start going off. After starting the vehicle the same thing happens when the vehicle is moved to reverse. While driving, the instrument cluster starts flashing. Problem was resolved by replacing the tipm. 2008 Jeep is not part of the recall for the tipm.
First the windshield wipers stopped working (changed motor and controls) then the horn stopped working, then the blinker and lights along with the instrument panel. Switched the panel and finally the tipm which fixes all issues. Vehicle continued to run but parked it until after reinstalling the tipm.
Tipm electrical issue. Causing inoperable turn signals, parking lights, horn, power window on drivers side, and sometimes, doest start of turn over. Auto repair shop says it needs a tipm replacement.
While in motion car dies and lights begin flashing, horn goes off and on, windshield wipers and fluid are activated and doors lock and unlock.
Jeep tipm failure numerous times. Headlights stop working completely, airbags reportedly non working, winshield wipers work when they want to, horn blows on its own. Door locks cycle on their own. Engine wont shut off with the key unless unhooking the battery.
While driving the horn starts blowing uncontrollably. The windshield washer activates uncontrollability and windshield wiper activity. Electric door locks sometime won't lock. Electric windows sometimes won't go down. This is caused by a defective tipm.
My ac/heater blower motor work intermittently. The horn sounds without being engaged. The windshield wipers will engage by themselves. These issues happen both stationary and while driving. I belive these issues are caused by the total integrated power module. When talking with others about this problem there appears to be a recurring problem with these vehicles. I believe these malfunctions could put me in danger. For example, if I can't defrost the windshield there is a visability problem. Also, assuming it is the tipm there are many other things that will eventually happen.
The vehicle was parked at a convince store and had only been driven about 3 miles after siting for over 12 hours overnight. While exiting the store the horn, blinkers, door locks and windshield wipers started activiating. The horn was honking, washer fluid spraying, blinkers flashing and door locks locking and unlocking rapidly. I was unable to exeter the vehicle with the key fob and had to use the key to unlock the door. Then after starting the vehicle the above issues continued. I cycled the key with no success. After I oppened the hood the above mentions issues stopped temporarily for approximately 20 seconds then started again. I tapped the tipm and all of the above issues stopped. I know that Jeep has had issues with tipm but a recall was never issued to correct the defective part. I feel this is a significant saftety hazard as I was unable to stop the components of the vehicle for malfunctioning. I'm extremely concerned for my safety as if this happened while driving I would not be able to see due to the erratic nature of the washer fluid spray and windshield wipers not functioning.

The Jeep just died in the middle of traffic while I was driving in escondido CA. This was very dangerous as it happened in rush hour traffic. The horn, wipers, wiper fluids all came on all of a sudden. I was stuck in the middle of traffic and was not able to turn it off. Then it randomly turned off so I took it to the dealership. They said my tipm was bad. There are recalls of the Jeep tipm but not for my model year. Wtf.
Nothing on steering wheel works. No horn no steering wheel controls nothing. Apparent clockspring failure as mechanic has told me.
Totally integrated power module (tipm) item has failed , causing me to replace other parts diagnosed by pcm as being faulty, but replacing those parts resulted in same error codes. Actual fault found to be a failing tipm. I have constant error codes, random horn, or lack of horn, random actuating of stability control causing one corner of Jeep to brake suddenly and giving the stability control warning light. Random power and fuel economy problems. Spent +$600 in parts that did not fix what Jeep said was problem, when problem is tipm giving the problem. Just waiting to see if bursts into flames, as have smelled hot wires coming from it recently. This has occurred while stationary and in while motion.
While driving, the horn, lights and wipers randomly go off and spray fluid everywhere. Nothing can be done to stop it and even turning the car off doesn't. It can be very dangerous to me and other drivers since they do not know why my horn is going off for minutes at a time. I don't want to be behind someone at an intersection with my horn and wipers going off. Looking online I can see that this is a common problem with this model and should be fixed before someone gets hurt.
Jeep was totally dead on 8/9/2017. . . I replaced battery and it cranked but none of the electrical controls on steering column work, I. E. Blinkers, horn, lights, stereo controls, wind shield wipers. . Etc. (anything on the steerimg column minus the ignition switch). I took it to a mechanic and he stated the ipcm is bad and needs to be replaced. Mechanic stated he has seen 3 off these this week alone from Chrysler products. It is a 2014 with 40k miles, never been off round. Check engine light came on about a month ago with the code p054c but went off at the next crank up and hadnt come on again. Why would this part just fail? it's nothing I did. Sounds like a faulty part.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled more than once without warning. The horn sounded and the computer shorted. The key was able to be removed with the vehicle still running and had not turned off. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (safford Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram fiat of winchester, 1659 berryville pike, winchester, va 22603, (540) 667-5532) who stated that the pcm needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the part and the failure recurred. The vehicle stalled at 60 mph. The key was removed and the state trooper had to direct traffic because of the failure. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer who indicated that the tipm needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been at the dealer's for months with no solution. The service center manager escalated the concern to the manufacturer. A case manager was to follow up with the contact to determine if a solution was recommended from the manufacturer. The dealer also mentioned a warranty, but did not disclose if there would be a repair concerning the remedy. The manufacturer issued an electrical recall for the 2007 model, but not the 2008 model. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Horn, wipers, wiper fluid, air conditioner, and tail lights will all randomly start going off, and not even shutting down the engine and removing the key stops it.
The Jeep's horn, wiper blades, wiper fluid and headlights go off by themselves even when the key is not in the ignition. Then the Jeep began cutting off while driving in the middle of rush hour traffic.
After airbag recall service, the horn stopped working and the dealer diagnosis is the tipm module.

Driving Jeep in downtown traffic suddenly horn, signal light, wipers started working with no input from from me pulled over tried to turn Jeep off kept running . Had to pull fuse to shut engine off. Was told it was the tipm and was told it would cost over $1000 to fix !!!!!! was also told they were having lots of problems with this . Needs to be a recall !!! hopefully you do not drag your heals like you did on the clock spring !.
Got into the Jeep, started and placed into reverse, suddenly, without prior warning and randomly the horn starts going off, wiper fluid shooting out and the wipers going like crazy, air conditioner not working and radio blasting and going quiet. . Nothing you can do will make it stop, this will be a serious safety isssue if it happens when I am driving down the road. This makes it a problem to be driving this car, as you never know when the wipers and horn will start going crazy. I have read many posts that this could happen both when the vehicle is stationary and while driving. Why is this not a recall??? does someone have to die before Jeep concede this is a problem?.
Was driving in the city around 3pm and at random, all on its own, tmy Jeeps horn started blaring nonstop, wiper fluid was spraying everywhere uncontrollably, wipers were going off on their own but werent functioning properly and the lights were on without being turned on, stayed that way about 5 miles until we got home and disconnected the battery since that was the only way to turn everything off. Next day, around 10pm, driving on the highway I had my beights turned on, after about 30 seconds, all of my lights turned off and the wiper fluid started spraying, wipers were going off, horn started blaring again non stop, disconnected battery again. This is all coming from a defective tipm (totally integrated power module). This is my daily driver and is putting me out of work and money to repair this if Chrysler does not issue a recall. This is a huge safety issue that already got Chrysler a lawsuit and is probably going to lead to another if they dont fix this and recall these systems. I couldnt see anything while driving either time, especially at night. This could easily kill myself, any passengers or other drivers. I am also afraid that if the battery stays connected it will cause a fire under the hood since I can hear the cracking sound of electrical wires as the lights go crazy without being turned on.
60411 miles. When doors are opened, unlocked with key fob, or the hood or back hatch is opened, the horn will sound continuously for 30 seconds. However, horn is non-operational when depressing horn button. Vehicle was stationary when this first occurred. Vehicle has not been wet inside since I have owned it (1 year and 40000 miles).
Jeep recall-major electrical issues: horn, alarm, windshield wipers and fluid, lights, locks and windows all these things will just start working on their own-sometimes just by pushing the unlock button. The key doesn't have to be in the ignition and if it is running and all these things start going off like the car is possessed, when removing the key everything stays and and won't turn off-even the car will continue to run-literally run until it runs out of gas. Very serious and dangerous issues-this is going to cause a serious accident or death. Many other Jeep owners have complained about these same issues via the web and nothing has been done. Dealerships are acting like it isn't a major ordeal and it needs to be addressed. This should obviously be a recall and it has been continued to be overlooked. These problems can and will occur when the vehicle is stationary, in motion, on a city street or highway-literally all of the above. It affects vision and being able to operate the vehicle safely. Although I put today's date on when this happened it has been on ongoing problem for the past 8 months to a year.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the horn, wipers, and power locks independently functioned. The failures occurred without warning. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and the battery was disconnected in order for the failure to cease. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be remedied for a similar failure. The technician diagnosed that the remedy for NHTSA campaign number: 16v290000 (air bags) would need to be performed in order for the malfunction to be resolved. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
The first of many times happened one morning as I was getting into vehicle. The horn, windshield wipers . The wipers sprayed all the fluid in the reservoir. I could not turn these off. After disconnecting the battery, the engine would not crank for some time and the horn no longer worked. The dealership diagnosed the problem as a faulty horn and replaced the clock spring, horn and a fuse. A few weeks later, while driving, the horn, wipers and lights all came on and I could not turn these off! even after removing the key, the engine and all the above would not shut off! once again, I had to disconnect the battery in order to shut these components off. This has happened numerous times since! the dealership is now saying the problem is with the tipm. But, in the meantime, is this vehicle safe to drive? today, I called Chrysler customer service and they told me that they would document this. Not good enough! in the meantime. . . . . . . I am somewhat fearful of driving my Jeep for the simple reason of the unknown. Not to mention the embarrassment that this brings when stopped at a busy intersection and my horn and wipers start blaring uncontrollably. This must be stopped and Chrysler should declare a recall! please help my Jeep is my only means of transportation and I'm very scared of driving it as I'm scared of the unknown that'd it stall or possibly go crazy on me again. This has happened more than roughly about 18 times in the span of 2 months.
While stopped exiting a plaza I turned on my turn signal and it didn't turn on at all. It was operational when I pulled into the plaza a short while before. Then when parked the interior lights would also not turn on with the same control stalk. The next day the other control stalk that controls the windshield wipers, horn when pressed from the steering wheel, along with all of the controls on the steering wheel were not working. I was told by a mechanic that it was the clock spring inside the steering wheel. I researched recalls and saw recalls on the clock spring involving the air bag deployment. I then took my Jeep to the dealership where they determined that it was the lin bus failure internal to instrument cluster. Also the lights on the window switches have all slowly stopped working over the course of the year. Along with the cable from the antenna to the radio has broken leaving me with no am/fm radio. My Jeep has never been stuck in the rain with the top off, has suffered no water damage, has been in no accidents, have been driven with care due to the fact I love it and paid a pretty penny for it. I've kept up with oil changes and tire rotation getting a vehicle inspections every 3,000 miles. I have read multiple accounts of the instrument cluster going bad on 2012 Jeep Wranglers. This is issue should be reevaluated by NHTSA and Chrysler. Chrysler please keep in mind that you have loyal Jeep owners who value their Jeeps and don't want to drive anything else, but we also deserve a quality product for our money.
Lights flicker on and off, horn honks uncontrollably, wipers go crazy, alarm go's on and off.
