Car towed to kia of irvine, where safety plug assembly, hybrid battery, and complete fuel system service were performed, total cost to me $1,647. 31. Kia technical operations document ps515 appears to state fuse installed by kia originally improperly rated at 125 amp, as it is replaced with 150 amp fuse. Why is this not a TSB, and thus a repair covered by warranty?.

Knock scensor is under the code and I've read where multiple people with this make and model of car have had the same issue and had their whole motor replaced.

None of my warning lights came on to let me know that the car had a safety issue. My warning lights didn't come on until the engine was on fire. The car is totaled and undrivable.

While driving on a road with my little cousin. All my function lights came on and and my car began to stall and slow down so started to press on the gas for acceleration a block down the way we started smelling smoke I panicked trying to get over and ran up on the curve and came off it pulled to a safe spot and me and my cousin both exit the vehicle quickly when we got out my it was smoking really bad my cousin noticed that it was on fire underneath the car so I looked and it was on fire something fell to the ground on fire underneath the car.

When istart my vehicle, sometimes the radio does not come on, so I have to pull the fuse and place it back in. Also, I cannot excel past 40mph, otherwise it stalls. The dealership stated I needed a new engine. I was stranded in wyoming, so I had to lease a new kia. I still owe on my 2013 Optima, which is not drivable. I did not want a new vehicle. I'm very frustrated.

About a week ago I was stopped at a stop sign and when I went to accelerate the car stalled for around 5-6 seconds then drove fine. Ever since then it will randomly feel like it hesitates while in motion driving between 45-65 mph.

Vehicle stalled on the highway and locked the steering capability.

On 1/11/2020 my 16 year old son was driving the 2013 kia Optima when the vehicle lost engine power. He was able to get the vehicle off the roadway at which time the vehicle stalled and burst into flames. The vehicle has had no prior mechanical issues. There have been no warning lights.

Vehicle was in motion on a busy highway when this happened. I would hit the gas and the car would try to stall, it did stall on several occasions. The car would jerk and the engine would start knocking.

I was on the interstate traveling at approx 70 mph changed lanes and when I went to accelerate the vehicle stalled lost power I coasted to the breakdown lane and attempted to start the vehicle. He told me that there was a kia recall 17v224000 that applied to the engine so I got aaa to tow the vehicle to charlies kia in augusta, me. They tell me that there is no recall on my VIN. Why would I have the same stalling as indicated in the recall if my VIN does not apply???.

Driving down the highway and the vehicle stalled motor seized up but unstuck after cooling has bad knock now. Stuck on highway waiting to be towed.

Recently I have been having issues with my vehicle it will cut off while driving the and I am unable to apply the brakes, just last night while driving the vehicle it stalled out and started going slowly I could not apply brakes to the car and it started smoking from the dash and the engine with no other current conditions I had to throw the car in park with out being able to use the brakes in order to stop the vehicle this almost caused an accident and almost cost me my life I noticed from other complaints others are having the same issues with no current solution or problem this is very weird.

Intermittent stalling of vehicle upon slowing/stopping at redlights/stop signs in which engine begins losing power/gas either stalls as if it's trying to quit or car stalls & quits. This has happened numerous times, nearly causing accidents & increasing in frequency. I have noticed my motor knocking louder & upon visual exam, the entire motor is shaking which can be felt while driving but most noticeable causing car to shake when at an idol. Most recent, I've began to smell a very strong odor of gasoline upon starting the car but worsens upon accelerating. The car is running rich, and smell of gasoline is so strong, we have to roll down windows. The fumes are more prominent towards rear of car close to exhaust. I cannot see any leakage of fuel when looking however I am losing fuel somewhere because my gas mileage has greatly gotten worse & burning through it at a fast pace. I took it to kia dealership in salisbury nc today in which they upgraded computer software related to recall on 2. 4l gdi engine as I have a 2013 kia Optima. Mechanic states the engine test did pass but feels it will need to be replaced at some point?? mechanic said he didn't smell any gasoline but he did not test drive the car or run diagnostic test as he said I would have to pay the $129 fee. . . . . . I declined paying the fee and requested it be done as this is a well known problem but that was denied. I need this addressed and repaired. It is dangerous, costing me more money for gas & affecting my job. Please advise. . . . . . . This is not acceptable and should not place financial or safety burdens on owners as we already pay enough financing as well as regular/normal wear & tear expenses!! I'm still making payments on mine but becoming too difficult & dangerous to drive esp getting to work so I can support my family!!.

Kia issued a recall for the engine burning cylinders causing foreign objects to get into the oil cycle, and causing the car to stall out. So my wife was driving the car along the highway going 70mph and the car completely stalled out and could've resulted in a serious wreck, and if it would've they would have been sued. So my car won't run now, and I get it towed to the dealership after I see this recall about the engine. The dealership test the engine and tell me the engine is fine, but my turbo is actually burning metal and causing foreign objects to get into my oil cycle. Since it's not the engine they are refusing to fix it. The same exact thing the recall is calling for is what is going on in my car but in a different part. They are refusing to go it and want me to pay over $2,500 to have it fixed when it's a serious malfunction on their part. If my wife would've wrecked I'm sure they would be begging to fix it so they didn't get sued! this is not right what is going on, and I'm very unhappy. If it was a consumer problem it would be no big deal but there is a recall going on that is happening to my vehicle that they are refusing to fix because they say the engine test out fine! well the foreign object is still getting into my oil cycle and could've lead to a serious wreck!.

The car started to stall and wouldn't go it began smoking and caught fire luckily I was driving right past purrfect auto and turned around and pulled inside the service area before the car was able to catch full fire. I thought maybe the car got hot and that's what I told purrefct auto because I was not sure so I thought that the car was running hot and that maybe it just got a little bit too hot and decided to catch on fire but the car was stalling before the fire and didn't want to go I took it to kia to have it repaired and they told me that I would have to pay out of pocket they said that the car needed a new engine after perfect auto basically took the whole engine out of the car to try to see why the car wasn't working right and they still couldn't figure it out I paid them $3,000 almost $4,000 and the car still wasn't working correctly so I when I took it to kia they denied me because they said my car was not in warranty and that I needed to buy a new engine.

I have had multiple issues with my 2012 kia Optima hybrid for the past 3-4 years. The transmission has been replaced at 74k mi. Numerous occasions car lost power on the highway. Taken car in to kia dealer each time and they could not duplicate the problem. My car stalled out 1 month ago on the freeway and towed to the dealer. Now at 125k mi dealer is telling me my engine is seized, hybrid battery and regular battery are dead. And also replaced the emc for $2500 prior to figuring out the engine/battery's were dead.

While on my way to pick up my daughter from school at around between 1 and 2 oclock pm I was stopped at a 4 way stop at GA hwy 225 in springplace , as I proceeded through the 4 way while in motion I hear and feel a sudden jolt to my vehicle and I skid to a stop thank god it had just went through the stop sign and did not gain any speed. I exited the vehicle and glanced underneath thinking that I had hit something, instead I noticed that my motor and transmission where no longer connected to my vehicle on the driver side but they where laying almost on the ground. I had to call a tow truck to have my car towed home and make arrangements for my daughter. My vehicle was one on the list that had a recall on the motor the replacement motor was installed around March of 2017. It has not showed any signs of trouble until this.

The battery indicator light came on then while driving down the road, the battery discharge kept popping up on the display then went out. About 10 minutes further, I lost power steering. I managed to get to base even though I ran a red light and stop sign because the car started spurttering and feeling like it was getting ready to stall. Once I managed to get to a parking lot, my headlights went out but I still had dash lights. All the error lights came across my dashboard. I took the battery to advance, they said it was low. They charged it and said it needed replaced. The battery indicator was still lit so I took it and they checked the alternator and said it was dead. I took it and had it rebuilt. Everything seemed to work ok.

My car stalled while waiting at a stoplight. When going to accelerate I was unable to. However, I looked at the current recalls for my car. The year, model, manufcature date meet the criteria for the axel recall. But my VIN # doesn't show any existing recalls.

While driving at 65 mph on the freeway my kia suddenly stalled causing me to have to steer the car off the freeway barely avoiding getting stuck in the middle of the freeway. Luckily traffic wasn't bad but I did have to avoid getting hit by oncoming cars.
