Driving the car, car just stalled out while driving in traffic. I was literally stalled on a busy road during morning rush hour. Had car towed to the local aaa repair center and they said there was no oil in the engine although I get regular oil changes. The car was working fine, no engine or oil lights to alert that the oil pressure was low.

Vehicle will not start. Engine and ignition replaced due to bearing wear recall. Transmission replaced 2 weeks ago for rebuilt one, and now car won't start. It's been 2 days and kia has not been able to tell me what is wrong with it. The reason I wanted to submit this complaint is because I believe there should be a recall on transmissions installed in these vehicles. Kia wanted me to wait from 10 Sep to mid Dec because these transmissions are on back order. Which means there's so much demand that Dec is the earliest they could receive it. Their shop is full, mostly of these cars (optima). They expected me to wait 3 months without a car in order to give them time. It just boggles my mind that they could do this. The craziest thing is that expect everyone to wait this long. I talked to 3 different costumers who are all having the same exact problem with the same cars, and they were told the same thing. I purchased this vehicle in 2014 used, only one previous owner, never had any accidents, now has 111,000+ miles. Always did all maintenance checks, oil & filter changes, tune ups, fluids change and yearly inspections. Only used for going to work and coming home 5 days a week (approx. 54 miles per day). I decided to repair transmission at other place & ended up saving $1100. Kia wanted to charge $2,700 for rebuild transmission & found a guy that charged me $1,600 for rebuild one. Kia never gave me quote copy. Just told me over the phone. How convenient! guy told me the way these transmissions were built it's simply bad engineering. And showed me the part of the transmission that broke. Would upload the documents , but I left in my car! can still provide them though! the safety issue was that the transmission went out while driving at 65 mph on a busy highway in houston! the car simply died on the middle of the highway. So I can only assume you know what that feels like!.
Takara recall: my engine had been knocking/shaking for a good minute now. When I have it running and hood open it's just vibrating extremely hard and constantly. I've noticed it wants to stall or no shift correctly after a dead stop and something going into 3rd gear. Even while just idling I can feel the engine shaking the whole car from inside.

In March of 2017, kia issued a recall for there engines in the Optima for the year I own. We still have not yet received any information from kia about bringing our kia Optima in for this recall. Our VIN shows that our car is part of this recall. A year later we still haven't heard from kia. Our car is now starting to stall when we sit at red lights. We would like for kia to finally reach out to us to remedy this matter.
Takata recall car starts to stall and idle when on the road and in traffic. Car starts to back up and reverse without notice or warning. Engine, battery comes on automatically and I have to turn off ignition and restart vehicle.
Car appeared to stall while on highway. Safely pulled over and was able to restart. Local shop said they could not find anything wrong. Next day a very loud kocking started, took it to the dealership who informed me of the engine recall. While my year was not in the recall they would be replacing the engine once I provide receipts showing my oil changes done outside of their location.
Kia has now settled their class action suit for all the other vehicles, yet the hybrids are still being left out of any recalls. There is plenty of evidence in the complaints here that something is wrong. I sunk $7000 that I didn't have to spare into getting a new engine put in this car. Only to have the transmission blow right after I got the car back from kia after waiting 6 months for an engine. The transmission cost another $5000, and it took them three transmissions to install a non-faulty transmission. I almost lost my job because I couldn't reliably get to work on time, if at all. Kia themselves have said that the engines weren't manufactured correctly and that labor being done in kia dealerships wasn't being done correctly. Hybrid engines should absolutely not be blowing rods at 60000 miles, or 80000 miles, and not even 100000 miles. Kia is knowingly delaying any sort of recall and forcing people to go into further debt or lose jobs.
Your sitting at a red light or driving down the road, and the car just stalls/turns off without any warning what so ever. This actually just started today. After looking it up, it seems to be happening quite a bit & nothing is being done by kia. This is ridiculous, not to mention scary! it's an accident waiting to happen!.
