I was on I 95 yesterday in the evening heading home and all of sudden my car went to shaking in the engine light was blinking on and off I pulled over to the side of the road to stop the car as I pulled over on the side of the road I sat in the car while the car was still running part in the car cut off by itself end it all the sudden started making a knocking sound once I turn the car back on.

I am starting to experience engine trouble with my 2016 kia Optima. I purchased the vehicle new with 0 miles. My issue stated on Friday evening, September 27th when the check engine light came on. Immediately, I took the vehicle to the dealership Saturday morning, September 28th. The tech person at kia country of savannah hook the computer device to find the issue. He stated it was due to air flow sensor. I advised him I would be traveling to port canaveral, FL in the early morning for a cruise. He said the vehicle would be fine and I would lose a mile or two on fuel economy. Wth! he disengaged the engine warning signal then says "if it come back on, you will be okay. " well, the next morning, I drove my car to orlando for an overnight stay then on to port canaveral the following Monday. Of course, I drove around orlando area. The check engine come on, again, then went off on its own. Here is where things really went downhill. I made it back to savannah during a bad thunderstorm. The car started to stutter like it was about to shut off. I managed to get the car home and parked it until Monday morning. Upon driving to the dealership, I lost all acceleration power and coast for about an half mile to the service center. By this time, I am about to explode with anger. My car has been in the shop since Monday morning, I am driving a rental car paid by the dealership. Finally, yesterday, I was told the issue was the wiring harness that was covered by a recall. I brought the car in them months ago about some knocking noises that I heard. Only to be told, I was hearing things. After reading reviews, I am concerned that issue is going to grow into a major one. The car has only 36,000 miles.

The manufacturer directed the dealer to put a device to quite the knocking noise. The device would enable the vehicle to be driven at 35 mph should the engine malfunction for an unknown distance. Driving to work and my car was making a knocking sound. It started to sputter and I was trying to pull over and it just shut off.

I own a 2013 kia Optima my car wouldn't start. Then after a few tries it started up. Then it did it again. My car wouldn't start. My car would stall out. Then it started making a knocking noise in the engine. The next day the check engine light went on. My odometer just hit over 100,000 a few weeks before. I made an appt at a kia dealership service dept but it's not until next week. I've only had this car for 3 months. I just purchased it. Now I've learned about the kia recall sc147 & NHTSA recall 17v224000 on bearings that lead to engine seizure & that can lead to metal in the oil. And it causes a knocking noise. I am positive this is what's wrong with my car. I hope the kia dealership will fix my car next week that's the earliest appointment they have. I hope I can get a car loaner.

While driving 75 mph on interstate I realized my car (it had been set on cruise control) when I tried to accelerate nothing happened realized it had completely shut down. Pulled to shoulder. First time restarting failed second time I started and hit the gas it started up but had a terrible knocking sound and can barely accelerate. Dropped off at kia dealership. It's Sunday so waiting to here back tomorrow.

The motor in my 2013 kia Optima spun a rod bearing on the way to a out of town softball tournament for my daughter the weekend of June 28th thru June 30 2019. My family and I were about 40 miles away from home on the highway when the vehicle started to lose power. We stopped to check the car to see what could be the problem and that's when I heard a knocking noise coming from the motor. At that point I had no choice but to have it towed to a mechanic shop in another city and star where the car still is today. The vehicle has not been started spence the day of break down. (June 28th 2019)the mechanic recommended me to see if there was a recall on the vehicle for this problem and with your VIN lookup tool I was able to find out that the motor does have a recall on it for this very reason. (oil passages may be block due to debris from manufacturer cleaning defect. Causing premature rod bearing wear from not cleaning engine properly before engine assembly). . I never received notice in the mail about a recall on my vehicle nor do I have recall number. The mechanic is willing to fix the entire problem for us but I need to know if I should allow him and will receive reimbursement after paid repairs or would you like me to have it towed to a kia authorized dealer for repairs. Engine is making knocking sound. Sounds like piston. It's a 2012 and keeping up with oil changes and tender loving care. It's 7 years old there's no reason the engine should be knocking and turning off in the high way at speed 65 mph with my children in it. The cars engine light has been on for over a year. The engine is constantly burning oil even though oil changes are done every 2000 to 3000 miles. The vehicle engine sounds louder every month. The car passed two recall tests at a kia dealership, one for which I paid out of pocket. I was told the engine is burning oil by my mechinic and there should be a recall on my car. The kia dealership cannot explain to me why my car is passing the recall even though it's obvious the car has had an engine problem since I bought it. My car engine shut down after making a left turn, which I almost got rear ended by traffic turning right from a faster street. After a couple tries the engine started and I seen my oil light also so I thought maybe my oil was bad so I went and had an oil change done and after getting that completed was driving home and my engine has this knocking noise now and it seemed to get worse. The technician stated that the engine light showed that the overhead cam sensor was the cause of the light. But after changing the oil the light went out. Technician stated the car was a quart low before the oil was changed out. I do not understand why this happened because I used the best oil and changed my oil on a regular basis and have records to show if needed.

I noticed my 2014 kia Optima's engine knocking a few months ago. I only noticed because I was parked and stepped out of my vehicle. I took the car to kia dealership where they told me there is a recall on the engine bearings and it would be very dangerous for me to continue to drive it. If they would just replace or repair the item recalled that would be great, but kia does not want to honor their recall for me. While on the highway trying to make a pass I suddenly loss power. I wasn't able to get the engine restarted once I pulled over. After a period of time on the side of the I restarted the car and was hearing a consistent knocking noise coming from me engine. Never had any issues or anything with the car.

Apparently there was a recall on my car in which I was never notified of. Today while driving the car started making a knocking noise, and stopped running. All the lights came on and th ecar is broke down on the side of the road.

Was driving to work. Drove through the front gate entrance to my station when an awful metallic knocking noise could be heard in the engine compartment. Had to have the vehicle towed all the way home that day. 80+ miles. Turns out I need a new engine. Took it to a kia dealer who diagnosed the problem being a failure to a crank bearing.

Driving down the freeway- car died- all dashboard lights came on- started back up-- had a knocking noise- drove it out of traffic and parked it. Towed to kia dealership- engine is gone. Maintenance has been done regularly- the check oil light never came on - still isnt on- no oil in the engine- check engine light came on only after the car died. . This is very dangerous- the cars die in the middle of traffic.
