Vehicle stopped engine running brake pedal goes to floorboard. Dealer states this happens and demonstrated 3 similar vehicles brake pedal goes to floor. My experience and training indicates this condition is unsafe and master or wheel cylinder or disk brake piston may be leaking. Another area can be master cylinder internally leaking or abs internally leaking. I called kia corporate customer service and after listening to my concern he said he has no technical support to address my concern and to go back to dealer. However, I had earlier gone to dealer for a brake inspection brake pedal travels too low. I was charged 70$ and told everything is fine! I feel I am chasing my tail here. Is there no standard that says peale pedal cannot go so low that gas pedal is also engaged if foot overlaps accelerator pedal? pretty scary if you push brake pedal and it creeps low enough that gas is applied and they are fighting! two months ago I was told that if gas and brake were observed by computer the default was to shut off engine to idle. Yes this was happening several times trying to get onto freeway. Hit gas engine dies if brake pedal touched when trying to merge onto traffic! now I can hit gas and brake at same time and they fight each other. Help!.

My dauther was on her way to work, she was coming to a stop at the end of the road and had no breaks and she contued on across the road whent up the bank across the road and when she reached the top it began sliding down and ended up laying on the passenger side. Tkankfully she was not hurt to bad. I have had the car check out, replaced the wendshield and passenger door window and mirror. The mechanic replaced the master cylinder, and still had no breaks, come to find out after calling kia they said it was the (hecu) unit. They are saying it will cost around 1500. 00 to replace this. I have never heard of nothing more rediclus. The car is still driveable. The passenger side doors are bent-up some, but they open and close just fine don't look good but its still driveable. I think kia should replace this (hecu) because its a factory defect.

This is approximate for the dates but if further proof is needed then I am on top of it! now matter at hand. . . I dropped my 20011 kia Sorento base xl, aka ms silvia, off to the kia dealership, original owners of ms silvia, for the 2nd (second) time for brake issues. 1st (first) time, around 10-12 ms silvia got new calipers and master cylinder and the date was about 2 (two) mths before this time, which ms silvia has been in the kia hospital/service dept since 12-21-12 for the 2nd (second) time for the very same reason. . . Calipers and master cylinder replaced. Dealership says, ". . . Bad parts. . . . " I am very worried since a recall was issued through your organization back in Nov 2010 for calipers for this very make, model & yr, this was never brought to my attention, by the dealership, till I did some snooping this time on my own. And wow. . . All I want is a dependable & safe vehicle to conduct my life. I am in fear this could happen again and wondering if others are suffering in silence and if this needs to be researched again. . . Please help me in the mean time I am letting my car insurance carrier know about this issue also, just in case ms silvia can't do what's required of her for me on a daily bases and maybe involves others of innocence. . . . I am scheduled to pick up ms silvia up today. . . Crossing my fingers that ms silvia is in good working order. . . . Help please. . .

The brake pedal always seemed to go down a long distance when appyling, before the brakes started to work. . I had the dealer check. The master cylinder was replaced. The next morning, at home, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor!. Within the next 3 weeks, the dealer had 2 more master cylinders and the abs replaced. Corporate tech was sent to check brake system. Everything was to spec and ok. The brakes work ok, but that "soft" brake pedal feel still exists.
My 2011 kia Sorento ex v6 awd was brought in to a kia dealer 15 days ago to check on the brakes, which seemed to have a longer than normal "play" before engaging. The mechanic at the dealership agreed and replaced the master cylinder. After I brought it home, the next morning the pedal almost went all the way to the floor! it seemed to have air in the system after I pumped the pedal. I brought it back to the dealer where they again replaced the master cylinder. (I personally think they put in a rebuild kit the first time). The mechanic tried mechanical and manual methods to get all the air out with no success. They again replaced the master cylinder, again with no success. They then replaced the abs module, again it did not solve the problem. They are sending out a kia engineer to see if problem can be resolved. He will arrive Monday Nov 8! the SUV is still at the dealership, which will be a total of 21 days! have there been any other incidents of this problem?.
