After having the recent recall completed at the dealer, shortly thereafter I noticed that the abs warning light, traction control warning light, and the downhill assist warning light all came on and stayed on while driving. The service department at the dealership says that these events are not related to the recent recall. I checked online and the problem seems to be a faulty speed sensor in the hub is to blame. There are numerous complaints from kia and Hyundai owners that all point to this part having failed. The 2011 to 2015 kia Sorento (like mine), seems to be especially problematic. I feel this is a safety related issue that should be remedied by the dealer and the expense for this often-failed part should not be borne by the owners. My car has less than 40k miles and is not cruddy or rusty underneath. If this is not addressed, several safety features will not function and the drivers of these cars, as well as others on the road will be in peril. Many owners are just driving with the warning lights on due to the complexity and high cost of this repair. I feel kia should address this so as to save lives and show their customers some respect. Thanks! I had the vehicle plugged into a code reader at a local well-known auto parts store and they confirmed that it was a wheel speed sensor.

Current mileage 6,776 miles -purchased the vehicle and on two occasions the aeb emergency brake system came on twice without any cars around- also, twice the engine shutdown light came on and acceleration has stopped on me and the vehicle stalled, which is dangerous if im on the parkway or road where I cant pull over like a bridge. Nice looking car but dont be fooled- a ??recall needs to be sent to protect others from a crash immediately.

In April 2022, I received a letter dated April 7, 2022, informing me of an extended warranty coverage for the oil pressure switch leak in 2014-2018 Sorento vehicles equipped with the 3. 3l gdi engine, extending from 5 years/60,000 miles to 15 years/150,000 miles. Additionally, I was notified of an important safety recall (NHTSA recall number: 22v612) indicating a defect that could lead to vehicle rollaway, significantly increasing the risk of a crash and injury. The letter assured me that kia would inspect and, if necessary, replace the shift lock lever and holder at no cost. I took the vehicle in for inspection in may and the vehicle has not been returned to me yet. The vehicle has been at the dealership with no indication on when the issues would be remedied. The vehicle is used for services to minority and low income youth and it appears that the company does not care about bipoc safety.
