Have to replace the bulb in my headlight. Used to be every 4-5 months. Now, it's 3 times in the last two weeks. After taking it to shop, wiring is shorting out, melting plastic around bulb and connection to car. Can not just replace little socket, like in most cars, kia wants you to replace the entire wiring harness, to the tune of over $500 for the part alone, not counting labor. After searching online, found thousands of complaints about the same issue for the last 9-10 years.

Today I took our 05 Sorento in for an oil change. It came as no surprise to me that during the 20 point inspection I was told the driver's side headlight didn't work. This is beyond ridiculous at this point. I have already changed burnt out headlights a minimum of 5-7 times now. I can't even keep up with the count. Like many other owners I have tried every make and type of headlight and none of them will last more than a few months. This recent set was the top of the line and I had to pay $80 for the two lights. Still don't last. It seems that kia knows about this issue but is unwilling or too cheap to pay have their issue fixed. I'm not the only owner with this problem. Look it up! the car has operated fine other than this but it has become a hassle and is very costly replacing headlights every few months! this will be the last kia that I buy unless kia steps up and fixes this issue. They have a new wiring harness that can help/fix this problem but of course owners have to pay for this out of pocket. Step up kia or enjoy losing a client from here on out!.

The contact owns a 2005 kia Sorento. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 mph, the interior and exterior lighting would sporadically fail. The air conditioner and fan could not be used when the failure would occur. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility for diagnostic testing. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer advised there was an unknown technical service bulletin in relation to the failure of the wiring harness, but no recalls. The contact attempted to contact the manufacturer but was unsuccessful in doing so. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000 and the current was unknown.
Our 2005 kia Sorento has been in the shop for over 185 days due to front, rear, brake and running light issue. The brake lights go out every two or three weeks and the other on a monthly basis. The throttle control along with the transmission and radio have been repaired at least five times each and good motor company of rockhill south carolina cant seem to find anything that would cause the problem. Kia motors is no help and cant seem to put two and two together to see the other 20 complaints with the same problems. I'm stuck with a 10 year warranty on a lemon.
I have taken this vehicle to the purchasing dealer 7 times for multiple issues including transmission or torque converter difficulty switching gears, the main wiring harness fell down into the dash, poor braking performance. The major issue has been the random, but daily esc off light coming on and off. The dealer seems either unwilling or incapable of correcting this issue. I have filed a customer service request we kia two weeks ago, randy ext 45295 kia customer service assured me he would ¿get back to me¿ in two business days. Today is the seventh business day and no reply. It¿s my opinion that the esc issue, wiring harness, and poor braking are issues that should be address in via recall since kia customer service and warranty commitment are meaning less to kia corporation.

The contact owns a 2006 kia Sorento. The contact stated that the interior and exterior lights would flash, the door would unlock, and the rear hatch would open automatically. The dealer replaced the computer and stated that there was a dead cell in the battery, which did not remedy the issue. A kia representative stated that the ground wire could be the issue; therefore, the dealer replaced the ground wiring. The repair stopped the lights from flashing; however, the hatch stopped opening the very same night of the repairs. In addition, the heater fan only worked on high. The vehicle has not yet been repaired. The contact is concerned that the flashing lights will distract other drivers and lead to a crash. The current mileage was 39,600 and failure mileage was 1,246.

: the contact stated the outside temperature gauge was inoperable and attempted repair resulted to the splicing of the wring harness. The repair caused the vehicle to stall at 45 mph. The vehicle was maneuvered off the road and towed to the dealer where a new wiring harness was ordered. Updated 9/5/2006 - when making a u-turn the vehicle made a clicking noise. The dealer replaced both front center caps.
While driving on Saturday, 7/15/06, I noticed a high pitched noise while steering. I was under the impression that the power steering fluid was low. After having an oil change and capping off my fluids, the noise continues and remains while driving. It is loud enough to hear over the radio and the air conditioner at the same time. I have placed this car in the shop for numerous repairs since its purchase in 2003 and have spent countless amounts of money on various problems, including replacing the bulbs, repairing the braks, the check engine light coming on immediately after purchase, the air bag sensor remains on and the list goes on and on. I have placed numerous complains to kia directly as well as filed a compliant with the better business bureau to no avail. It would be my assumption that kia will only be concerned about fixing these issues or recalling these vehicles only after some serious incidents have occurred.
Electrical failure, cooling system failure, rough running-engine misfire purchased car 2-22-2003 brand new this car has spent a lot of time on the dealers lift. Also has seen its share of tow trucks. In the past 1 1/2 years I have replaced 18 left side headlights,23 right side headlights ,16 fog lights,8 license plate lights and 6 tail lights the truck has been to 3 dealers and they all say its either normal or it's only because I did not buy the bulbs from kia well some I did and they do not last either. The last time it was in they had the truck for 9 1/2 minutes and told us there is nothing wrong and for $149. 00 they will put in a new bulb. No warranty on how long it will last. . . . . The truck also misfires and the dealer also cannot fix it they say the computer says its good so it must be good. Well you can feel the misfire even the dealers mechanic stated it is misfiring but he cannot fix it maybe after the warranty is over we will be able to find the problem. . . . . Another problem is the cooling system in the past 3 years it has had the recovery tank replaced 2 times the radiator replaced the connecting y behind the motor replaced . . .
