December 2020 while driving on the freeway my 2014 kia Soul started stalling and threatening to lose power, and then, without warning the engine light appeared. My car jerked and threatened to turn off-acceleration was decreased-it was very alarming and very sudden. The engine light stayed on for a few seconds then it started flashing off and on. I took my Soul to a nearby mechanic and was informed that I needed motor. In September 2020 the same thing happened, my kia Soul started stalling and jerking, engine light came on, I had decreased acceleration-started losing power. I was close to a kia dealership service center, at that time, and kia diagnosed my kia Soul-and per the invoice there was a cylinder 3 misfire detected. Cylinder 3 coil has open circuit. I paid $500. 00+ in repairs. Three months later December 2020-same symptoms but worse, and now there is a much larger problem. I reached out to the kia dealership who performed the repair in September 2020, and informed them of the problem, and shared what the mechanic informed me of, and was told to bring it in for a diagnosis which would cost approximately $200. 00, so that the kia service center could determine whether or not my Soul needed a motor. I'm sorry, but I just paid $500. 00+ for repairs in September 2020, and I had to pay $79. 00+, to the mechanic who diagnosed my Soul, I did not, and still do not, have $200. 00 extra dollars for kia to run a diagnostic and give me the same diagnosis. Nor did I, or do I have, the extra money to tow my Soul to kia. I had one tow, and I made the decision to have my kia Soul towed to my residence where she sits today. Sadly in the cold weather, and during a pandemic, I have to seek a ride or take the bus to and from work, and the grocers etc. . This is not good for me or my family at this time.
Driving down the highway and started stalling cutting out and loss of power it went into limp mode called our dealer they said to far away to tow take it to one closer so we took it to patterson kia and told us it would be 5 weeks before they could put it on the computer and they didn't have a loaner so we are on a waiting list.

All of these symptoms are covered under the recall and service bulletins, please help this is our only vehicle and we can't afford the new engine that should be covered, thank you.

Vehicle stall on the highway, it was later determined that the engine blew a piston . This all happened on this vehicle at 21,000 miles. Leaving my young daughter stranded on the highway alone at night . After further investigation found out there has been recalls on this make and model for catalytic converters overheating and causing piston problems in the engine . After reading many complaints online for the very same reason more models of kia should be recalled.
I was with on the highway and noticed a noise that I hadn't heard before. I was about 40 miles from home so I headed towards home and as 8 was driving down the highway, the noise was gradually getting louder, I had no idea what it was, not one warning light came on. Suddenly while going just over 60mph, my car stalled, would not restart. While cars zoomed past me going faster than I. I made my way to the side of the road, luckily avoiding getting hit. Still no lights had come on until it stalled completely. I was thankful but shocked to hear the next day from my mechanic that a rod had come broke loose in my car and broke through the engine. That I had a car that needed a $6000+ new engine and that engine replacements for this car model and year are very hard to come by. I am disgusted. . I will never buy a kia again in my life. I called kia and asked them how could my car get this bad without any warning lights? they said they weren't sure, it should have. That certainly doesn't help me. I have a 6 year old car that is almost worthless. I still need to finish paying it off. Ridiculous.

Driving my 2014 kia Soul on July 4th on the highway at 75 miles per hour, engine revved up to 5 rpm's for no apparent reason, and engine light came on. Went back down to proper rpm's after about 10 seconds, then about 15 seconds later revved up to 7 rpm's, battery light came on and car stalled in the middle of the highway. Called kia corporate on July 8th, they created a case for me, I had a contact there that was working my case, and they had it towed it to midwest kia in wichita, KS. , because there was an active recall on the car. They had it for 2 weeks, refused to fix it because they couldn't get the car to start to throw the code for the recall, but they repeatedly told me they would do nothing to get it to throw the code because they might pay to fix something they shouldn't. A man at corporate told me on July 22nd that they were not going to honor the recall nor the warranty that is still on my car, and I had my car towed back to my house. When I got it back, I looked under the hood and the service center had torn my engine apart and left it in pieces under my hood, where it sits now awaiting permission on what I can do so I do not ruin any chances I have of them fixing what they should anyway.

I have been trying to get my car fix since February. It keep stalling without warning no lights will come on. I need someone to look at this situation I would like to get my car fix. I am paying my car note on time every month. Please help me.
My car has been stalling for the last 6 months it had a recall on the catalytic converter due to overheating, resulting in abnormal engine conbusion and damage to the engine pistons. I have taken it to the kia shop for an upgrade and that did not work.
I was mid turn going home when suddenly my car refused to speed up and became to rumble. I successfully made it home right down the street. When while approaching my home my vehicle stalled and all lights suddenly came on. Oil, engine, battery. I have not had any issues with my car and I get my oil changes regularly ( warning light has never came on). I had triple a tow my vehicle to the dealership as I am still under warranty. They wanted to charge my 145 to just look at it. They said the warranty company might not cover the engine being shot. The dealership has not replaced my miles sticker to tell me when I need an oil change the last three times I've been there. They never informed me how long their oil changes are good for. I have read many reviews on this car and many people have had the same issue. My car is covered under warranty but they want to charge me and might not even fix it. I haven't been able to work without my car so I am low on funds. If a engine issues are very common with this model of vehicle they should be able to replace no questions asked. I pay for my warranties but they cant help me?.
I was driving down the highway few months ago and suddenly the car just stalled I was going about 60 miles an hour and the car just stalled as I was driving down the freeway and it just did it again a couple of weeks ago I had to start the car both times as it was rolling to keep from losing control the vehicle. Now I am afraid.
The vehicle is well maintained and at 69441 miles on the 2. 0 liter engine, the engine seized while driving in heavy traffic on an interstate highway. I had to get out and push it to a safe area off the highway. I had it towed to a certified mechanic and the diagnosis was a seized engine. I contacted a local kia dealer and they would not cover it under any warranty. They only offered a very high estimate to replace the engine. I opted for my mechanic to install a used replacement engine from an auto recycling company. Invoice for the replacement engine is attached to this report. Since the replacement engine came out of the same year and model kia Soul with slightly lower miles on it, I am concerned that the same thing will happen with the metal chip in the engine defect issue recently reported, since I drive mostly highway speeds. It is extremely dangerous to get out and have to push the car off a busy highway!.
