While waiting at a light on a hill my engine shut off without any warning. I was able to restart it. Two days later while driving on a busy intersection my engine shut down again without warning. When I restarted it, it accelerated really fast. I am now afraid to drive it. It only has 52,000. Miles on it and the maintenance is up-to-date on it.
While our daughter-in-law was driving our 2014 kia Soul on the highway it shut down she coasted off an exit ramp, car would not restart. Mechanic checking it said engine is bad,oil was changed @ 5 weeks ago and level was good. No warning signs.
The vehicle shut off while I was driving, I had to push it off the road, the problem is a fuel leak, other kia Souls are currently on recall for the same reason but this plus model isn't so it's sitting in my drive way while I pay over $400 a month for the vehicle ! recall this dangerous vehicle ! this is a defect in the kia/Hyundai engines.
I was driving down the road doing about 45 miles per hour and out of nowhere my vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. I had to act fast and get off the road so I wouldn't get hit by the oncoming traffic. I had the vehicle towed and come to find out my 2. 0 engine had seized. The tow truck driver from kia International roadside stated that they have been towing kia Souls all month for bad engine problems. I have 65000 miles on my vehicle. My next oil change wasn't until another 1000 miles. No low oil pressure light came on not even the engine light, it just shut off out of nowhere. All the oil was sucked out of the engine, on top of that I have to pay $8,000 to get a new engine. A recall need to be put up about no warning lights on the dashboard.
11-6-18 - while in motion, mid turn, my car shut down completely. All the lights came on in the dash, and then when car shut down, battery died as well and window was stuck down. I am so thankful I was not on the interstate going 70 miles an hour. I could have been killed. Dealership has said motor is locked up and cannot even be manually started & that I need a whole new engine.
While driving on the highway, the dash board started turn off and on the car began to lose power. I pulled off to the side and the lights on the dash came on and the car shut down completely. Within a few minutes smoke started coming from the hood of the car followed by a small fire. I got out of the car and the fire grew and completly burned the car.
