The contact owns a 2000 Mazda 626. The dealer informed the contact that the sway bar will fail, the rotors were bent, and the transmission needed to be replaced. She stated that the vehicle will not shift into the drive gear. Approximately three weeks ago, the vehicle was towed to a garage. The VIN and engine size were unknown. 2 Automatic Transmission Column Shift problem of the 2000 Mazda 626

Failure Date: 08/12/2004

Started my car and put it into gear. It did not move. I have the car at the dealership. The shifter cable needs to be replaced which will cost $500 for parts and labor. Please let me know if I have any recourse in obtaining reimbursement for this cost.

3 Automatic Transmission Column Shift problem of the 2001 Mazda 626

While trying to park and when shifting from neutral or drive, unless release button is firmly held in all the way, shift lever will stop in the reverse position, consumers unaware of this will think they are in park, release button has to be in all the way in order for it to shift into park.
