Driving on highway and couldn't accelerate then car died out and shut down. Took it to Mazda dealer which had no explanation to how or why engine was blown. It was a 2005 Mazda 6 3. 0 l v6 that had around 69,000 miles.

Over a period of 1-1/2 hours, our 2003 Mazda 6 quickly lost all acceleration power on 5 different occasions while driving out of town on the highway. Following a 'slight bump' the car went from 70 mph to 35 mph to 10 mph, quickly, regardless of pressure applied to the accelerator. Getting to the side of the road in traffic going 70mph+ was in itself a challenge and after pulling to a complete stop the car began jerking fiercely. Only turning off the engine completely was the system 'reset'. The Mazda dealership hooked it up and determined the throttle body must be replaced for a quoted cost of $534. 41 (macon, GA). The sensor itself, the likely culprit for this issue, is not offered or available for sale by Mazda without its 'body', unlike countless other makes, which is outrageous, but the most disgusting part of this issue is that although there are a critical number of complaints logged about this issue, the tps has not been listed as a recall. The dealership stated they did not have to replace it since there were only 'service bulletins' listed and no actual recalls for the parts. They are very aware of the situation. From my own experience and my daughter's with this issue, I can guarantee that this has definitely caused serious injuries, if not fatalities, that just haven't been reported or possibly identified. I will continue to hunt down the sensor as I will not fall prey to Mazda's 'racket'. The car will sit until I locate the part, or end up being parted out.

2007 Mazda6. Consumer states problem with clutch
the consumer stated the clutch pedal would vibrate when it was depressed. The dealer replaced the clutch and flywheel. However, the vibration continued. The problem was then diagnosed as a bent connecting rod in the engine. The vehicle has an aftermarket cold air intake. The dealer stated while driving through a large puddle or creek the aftermarket intake sucked in water which cased the rod to bend and therefore the warranty was denied. The consumer didn't believe that the intake had sucked up water. The consumer stated other mechanics said it could not have sucked up a substantial amount of water.

1. There was no warning to this failure, I was on a motorway (u. K) I check my oil levels every single week
2. I had an engine over-run and could only be stopped by switching the engine off, the rev counter hit maximum and a huge cloud of white smoke was left behind me. Consequences are now I am left without a car and I could have died because I was approaching a roundabout 700 yards away and swerved between 2 lanes of moving traffic to force a stop on a lay-by. 3. Nothing was done, Mazda are blaming me for the incident even after I had my oil checked and results shown a 62% diesel oil contamination, they blame the dpf (diesel particulate filter) for this over-run as I am not doing enough "long journey" miles. Which I was, no warning lights appeared before or after the incident and the oil levels are dramatically above the full mark. No fault codes are shown on Mazda computer. My car is sitting useless on my drive as we are all to scared to drive it.

The contact owns a 2005 Mazda 6. The contact attempted to accelerate from a stop, but the vehicle failed to move. The engine automatically shut off and the vehicle appeared to switch to accessory mode. The lights on the instrument panel illuminated, but the engine was not running. The vehicle was shut completely off and restarted. The vehicle began to operate normally, but the contact stated that the transmission delayed and shifted roughly when turning corners. The vehicle has previously experienced transmission failure, but it never shut off while driving. The current and failure mileages were 22,200.
2006 madza 6 with transmission problems customer states that the car has been sitting at the dealership for a month and the car is still in disrepair**
the consumer stated a few months after purchasing the vehicle, the vehicle began making a grinding metal sound. The consumer parked the vehicle looked under it and noticed fluid was spilling out. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealership and after 2 weeks the dealer stated the repair work was finished, however 3 days later, the consumer began to hear the same metal sound as before only this time, the consumer had no gears and no clutch. The consumer then received a call from he dealership stating the vehicle had blown a rod and there was a problem with the engine and not the transmission. The consumer was told he would need to provide receipts of oil changes or the vehicle would not be fixed.

Driving the Mazda tribute into a parking lot and the car suddenly went to fifty miles per hour and the tach went up to 3000 rpm, applied the brake and put car into park to stop the vehicle from going any further. Dealer was called and car was brought to the dealer for inspection. Car has been serviced at the Mazda dealer every three thousand miles. Dealer checked the vehicle and found that an error code came up that showed that the ect temperature sensor failed which caused the computer to send excess fuel into the fuel injectors which caused a high rate of speed. Dealer fixed the problem and charged $400. 00 for the repair. The incident could have caused a major problem if I was driving in open traffic. Mazda should be reviewing for possible defect and NHTSA should be opening a search for other vehicles having a similar problem. Car is a Mazda tribute 2002.

I purchased what I believed to be a brand new car on December 13, 2004 the car I purchased is a 2005 Mazda 6 I did not no at the time that the car I believed to be new had 1,610 miles on it, I believe he sold me a demo which is also a part of my complaint, on 2-4-05 my brand new Mazda broke down, and now needs a new motor, it was towed on 2-4-05 and taken to white plains Mazda, white plains NY on 2-8-05 where as of this 2-17-05 it is still in the shop awaiting a new motor, to which I have every intention on taking said vehicle when it is repaired back to place of purchase, I believe that maybe they might have even turned back the odometer, I wish for this to be noted so therefore maybe Mazda down on hillside avenue , in jamaica queens will not do this to anyone else. Also how does a brand new vehicle purchased in December break down the first week in February.
Consumer requesting information to be included in Mazda owners manual. That vehicle may cut out or lose power , etc. While driving. The consumer requested to have information added to the manual regarding the consumers need to watch rpm's and let off of the gas before the engine gets to the red line and shuts itself down. When the throttle is fully depressed while passing, the engine downshifts as it is supposed to but will never upshift again until the driver consciously pats the accelerator to make it upshift or the engine hits the redline on the rpm module.

The contact owns a 2003 Mazda 6. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle vibrated and hesitated without warning. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. The technician stated that the failure was related to the engine, which was replaced. In addition, the vehicle would shift roughly from first to second gear. He experienced failure with the exterior lights and the window operating mechanisms. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and a diagnostic test was performed. The technician stated that the aftermarket electronic components were possibly the causes of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the following components: alternator, battery, exterior lights, and four window operating mechanisms. Also, the computer module, transmission, and air conditioner modules were replaced. The failure mileage was 85,000 and current mileage was 94,000.
Purchased this vehicle in 2002, there is a smell like mildew coming from the a/c had it tested- high mold spore counts in cabin. The air bag light goes on and off. Are these going to work if I should need them? this vehicle has been in the shop 50 times within 3 years for these problems and many more.
